Nothing melts my heart more than seeing the QB at the line making all the adjustments and audibles, only to see the RB then dropped behind the line of scrimmage, and none of the adjustments mattered in the first place because the fucking offensive line can't fucking block.

I don't think you guys realize that we are actually watching the annual Clemson vs Citadel game today, and the Clemson players are wearing Ravens uniforms while the giants are in Citadel uniforms. Lol. 49-3 blowouts

Yeah. It's one of those games (2 to 3 per year) that the Giants seem to have for the last 8 years where they just completely fail to even show up.

This offense is so utterly pathetic.

Also, I'm saying this before the game (which I expect us to lose badly): Dave Gettleman needs to be fired. This will be his third straight 10 loss season. Every good move we boast about he nullifies with a bad move, and the result is no improvement (eg offensive line is as bad as it was three years ago, as is the offense in general). Our cap situation next year looks pretty bad, with much of it (over $40mm) bucketed into bad contracts Solder, Zeitler, and Tate. I realize we may cut one or more of them, but this is still bad, and still leaves a lot of useless dead cap. Point is we're going to be very limited in free agency (can likely only afford one big signing), especially as we have to figure out what to do about the DL with Tomlinson and Williams who are free agents. Just REFILLING the void at DL, if we decide to in free agency, is likely going to be our only major contract signing of free agency. I can't see us really adding anything this off-season in free agency (just replacing lost players, eg Tomlinson, Williams, or possibly Zeitler if we cut him), so we're going to need a home run draft class of immediate contributers if we want any chance at an 8-8 or better season. Sorry but DG just hasn't brought any substantial improvement over Jerry Reese.

Yeah and also put Engram into the pass catching skills challenge so everyone can watch him embarrass himself on national tv, and realize how foolish they were to vote him.

Plus when do Michigan pass rushers picked high ever have success in the NFL? Brandon Graham perhaps, but he's only decent, not worth a top 10 pick for 6-7 sacks per year. Take a look at Rashan Gary, #12 last year. He's not doing much. Paye is similar: hyped up on measurables, but not on production, and an underachiever. Taco Charlton, #28 in 2017, is doing worse and is a complete bust; a backup at best.

We'll have to wait and see the details on the cap implications but for 2021, the cap hit is probably only around $8mm. That's not too bad; not breaking the bank, and seems right for Ryan. Ryan, Peppers, Xman, Love, Bradberry...that's a pretty solid core defensive backfield. I'd love for us to also find a #2 CB, though perhaps Yiadom can hold it down in 2021 since we have bigger off-season priorities elsewhere (WR, pass rusher, OL), plus we'll have to figure out if we offer to Williams or Tomlinson.

That would be nice. Basham in the 2nd might be unlikely though.

Take Pitts #10, then Trask in the 3rd or 4th.

What about Kyle Pitts? He could be the next Darren Waller.

That's correct...initially the giants did put him on the practice squad, but the lousy Jet's signed him off the practice squad to their active roster. Bastards.

No more Ballentine. He is with the Jets now. I also wouldn't count on Beal. As P-Dub pointed out, anything we get out of Beal next season is found money. I agree though, considering our other priorities, probably best to bring in a vet FA for CB depth, and/or mid-late round picks.

Plus, I am considering Sam Beal a bust at this point. I hope he proves me wrong.

Yeah, I would prioritize elsewhere, but I wouldn't be upset with a high pick or big or mid tier free agent signing at CB. Are people thinking Yiadom has been sub par?

On a related note, just thinking ahead. Yiadom has been decent and if I'm not mistaken is signed in 2021. Do consider him our CB2 next year. Reason I ask is, the more I think about our upcoming draft and free agency, the more I think the priorities lie elsewhere besides CB. For instance, re signing one of Tomlinson or Williams (I prefer Williams), we clearly have a need at WR, pass rusher, and I still say we need a solid Guard on this team to replace an aging and regressing Zeitler who's not worth his $14mm cap hit. We probably have cap space to sign two of these priority positions, then use top picks on the others. I just can't see these resources being used on a corner. Maybe mid round picks or lesser free agents (eg a guy like Brian Poole) for depth.

Well at least we'll get a higher draft pick, lol. I kinda didn't want to win the division and make the playoffs. The team was going nowhere anyway.

So this is the poetic fucking irony. With Freddie Kitchens calling plays and Colt McCoy as our starting QB, 5/6 last years as 10 loss seasons, we're literally the fucking browns now, lol. And the browns are now something else.

I agree with you BC. So Hassan Reddick. The guy has had a mediocre career. Rotational, situational player. Drops fucking 5 sacks on us today, lol. That's gotta be a level that hasn't been achieved in a while, and is rare in the league. Giants always seem to have a knack for making mediocre players look like hall of famers.

Yeah before this game, I was hoping we could get him at a bargain price, say 4 years $48 million. That's not happening now. He's probably going to get something more like $16-18mm per year. Those of us, myself included, who screamed in the offseason "They better not lock this guy up in a massive contract!" now have egg on our faces because we probably could have gotten him for the $12mm per year, rather than $16-18mm plus.
