  1. Paris Campbell and Saquon Barkley, plus cutting Leonard Williams ($10M in cap savings before his restructure) would have been more than enough.
  2. Yeah that's the Vegas Odds, but I think this Front Office/Organization legit thought we were a playoff team going into the season. They probably thought they beefed up the offense with Waller, Campbell, Hyatt, plus bringing back Barkley. They thought the OL would take a leap (e.g. Neal, Ezeudu, Bredeson), and JMS would come in and be a reliable starter right away...which is why they made no tangible OL moves in free agency, other than a backup Center...the same wishful thinking of the last 9 years. They disregarded the injury prone risk of Jones (and Taylor). The defense I can't really get on. They put it together as the season has gone on, despite rookies in the secondary, despite gaps at DE, etc. It's the offense and the OL particularly that's the problem.
  3. I'm saying they didn't, but any objective outside observer could have seen this coming.
  4. We were 3-6-1 down the stretch last year. We stumbled into the playoffs, then DJ had the game of his life against Minnesota and scammed the Giants into a contract. I said from the outset at best this is an 8-9 win team, but more likely 6-7 which wouldn't surprise me. At this point the way it's unraveling we'll be lucky if we get 5. The Front Office might have thought this team would be better, but anyone looking at this objectively could have seen the abysmal OL coming. Same shit different year. Same wishful thinking about the OL without seriously addressing it.
  5. They signed Matt Barkley to the practice squad. They're going to have to bring him to the active roster to make him an emergency QB, then maybe look to next week for him to play (assuming DJ is injured thanks to this putrid OL and his injury proneness). The sad truth is: what kind of a QB (e.g. Wentz, Driskel) really wants to play here considering the Giants abysmal OL? They'll just spend 8-9 games running for their life getting killed. Why we haven't signed or done something about the kicker position is a mystery. Going into the season without a competent OL is unraveling. The season is unraveling.
  6. I never thought McDaniels was a good coach or even offensive coordinator. He's like Adam Gase and Peyton Manning; he was only ever thought to be "good" because his QB was a hall of famer. When they don't have a hall of fame QB, they're a disaster. Honestly, what do you really need to do to coach Peyton Manning or Tom Brady (after years of them already being established star QBs?).
  7. They are morons. Morons. DJ will get hurt, then we'll be back to 27 straight running plays and 1 yard pass plays.
  8. 100%. And you don't produce the worst scoring offense in team history without there being something seriously wrong.
  9. Shhhh don't tell them that the Jones' offense = "if your first read isn't there, just scramble and run or hope for a busted coverage"
  10. Great move. Now trade Barkley for a 2nd or 3rd.
  11. For all his shortcomings, Kent Graham.....Kent fucking Graham went 10-5 as the starter in 1998 - 1999 (5-4 in 1999, and the defense wasn't great that year). In 1999: 1,697 yards, 9 TDs, 9 INTS, 6.3 yards per attempt, and a 59% completion percentage. I'd fucking happily take this stat line over the next 9 games, and we're in the post-illegal contact, post can't headhunt, pro receiver ERA of the NFL, not the 90's anymore.
  12. 1976 Giants PPG: 12.1 2023 Giants PPG: 11.9 Also, the 1996 giants were a PPG of 15.1, the lowest scoring of the Dave Brown, Kanell, and Kent Graham era. LOL we're fucking worse than the mid-late 90's giants offenses.
  13. The other thing is, if you're Carson Wentz, after yesterday: Do you really want to come play for the giants for 9 games behind this offensive line, running for your life, for a losing cause, all for a couple million or so? Especially when the Browns, Vikings, and Bears might be viable options?
  14. Him and Micah McFadden are really growing, plus to a lesser extent Robinson (the few times he gets his chances. That's the only consolation I have watching this team lol, plus hoping Banks, Hyatt, Flott, JMS, and Hawkins play well.
  15. Heck, the Texans currently have three QB's on their active roster. Flip them a 7th rounder for Davis Mills, then you get a competent guy in there for this year, PLUS a good backup QB in 2024.
  16. Correction, Jeff Driskel is a FA.
  17. Devito shouldn't even be a practice squad QB if he can't be trusted to throw the ball beyond 1 yard. The Bears had a practice squad QB going for them the last two weeks, and they won one of those games, and the guy has over 400 yards so far just two games in. PJ Walker is another one for the Browns. Or look at Jeff Driskel on the Cardinals current practice squad (I'd take him right now). Not saying these guys are anything special but we wouldn't be running a high school style offense if we had them.
  18. Still need to sign Wentz, or someone like Chase Daniel, asap.
  19. I don't get why this needs to be so complicated for the Giants. Carson Wentz is a decent QB with extensive experience. It shouldn't even be a question to sign him today ASAP, even if Daniel Jones is expected to play this week. Even in that best case scenario, Jones is still injury prone, and Devito as the backup just doesn't cut it. Devito shouldn't even be on the roster if he can't be trusted to throw the ball more than 1 yard down field.
  20. So for anyone watching Sunday night football, the Bears third string QB already has more passing yards than the Giants did all game today, and it's only the first quarter.
