Steve Serby interview with Jerry Reese:

Q; How will this team respond to being “the hunted”?

A: The last time after we won a Super Bowl we responded pretty well. I know our coaching staff knows the drill. Hopefully we have enough veterans who can help police the locker room. We’re going to take everyone’s best shot, because we do have the title as champions. ... Plus we play in a tough division. The schedule looks tough. But when you’re playing a tough schedule, it helps your team become battle-tested down the stretch. People started tossing around the whole Super Bowl hangover stuff — some unfortunate things happened [Plaxico Burress’ gun mishap] where we didn’t really get a chance to finish that season like we wanted it. We still have to do the things that got us here in the first place. ... There are no layups in the National Football League.

It will be interesting to see how the Giants avoid the "post superbowl slump" that most teams experience.

If the Giants have their usual luck, 4/5 of our O-line starters will be on the IR by week six, Wilson will be on the IR by week two and Fewell will turn into Tim Lewis 2.0

Just remembering how everyone in the playoffs other than Filthy...we literally kicked their asses including the Stealers...FUCKING PLAXICO... :furious: :atomic: There was literally no fear of anyone other than Filthy which seems to have our number in the most inopportune moments. The same Plaxico who owned Filthy..stupid bastard.

Even with Plax, we wouldnt of won that game.

The Eagles were marching all over Spags D that game.

Despite that first year wonder, Spags has shown to be a pretty overrated coach.

I remember Pierce had hit the wall, and none of the other linebackers could cover either. Offenses were beginning to exploit that... if it hadn't been Philly taking the 2008 Giants out of the playoffs, it would have been one of the other playoff teams.

That and the lack of depth on the defensive line really hurt us. Remember Osi missed the year and Kiwi had to switch back to DE on the fly. Our best back up that year was Jerome McDougal, he of the 2003 "Let's draft a defensive line bust" fame.

To blame it all on Plaxico is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo weak

You think the Romans would have turned and ran if one soldier lanced himself in the foot?

It was a full team meltdown, which in retrospect was caused by inadequate talent throughout the roster.........most all of those guys

are now GONE

Plaxico is available to be brought back however. He paid for his "crime"- "shooting HIMSELF in the foot"

We should bring him in for a look

A lot like basketballs Pat Riley...easy to win championships with Magic, Worthy and Jabar...maybe Spags needed Strah, Osi and Tuck...lol

Alot went wrong that season....as far as the Philly playoff game, that was on the entire team. In fact, that was one of the early signs that our offensive line was developing issues.....alot of people hung that on Jacobs, but the holes weren't there.

And frankly, Eli was off in that game, too.....didn't help that Gilbride called a crappy game.....the Eagles had our gameplan.

That game was extremely windy. Eli had such a difficult time passing in that wind, and the Eagles linebackers were just selling out on the run game. McNabb had a hard time passing in that game as well, but he hit enough times to hurt us. The coaching stuck to a flawed game plan despite what was taking place on the field. It was a winnable game, but Andy Reid outcoached TC that day.
