  1. Thinking that foot was off the turf when he caught it and came down out.
  2. This. I would have to look, but I remember there being an out after two years. I didn't mind giving Jones a shot for two more years...but he's not the guy on the field. Off the field, he is who you'd want...but that's secondary to playing well. It's not fair cause he has taken an asskicking...but at the same time, paying him longer and more just isn't worth it when the team continues to lose. Fix the offensive line and the pjpeline feeding it. Do that first.
  3. All that said...Bills defense should've been hit with a delay of game
  4. Should have been a pass only...run a guy to the corner or front pylon...take your shot then kick the FG. Not too tough a call.
  5. Or the play was an RPO and TT opted for the R at the line. Barkley was stuffed...0 pts. Still no 1st half TDs...lol. Hell of a 1st half...but damn...what a TD there would've meant with getting the ball after half
  6. Is there a difference when it comes to offensive line at this point?
  7. Kinda why I made the Who's Worth Keeping thread.
  8. Sure you're still talking about tackling?
  9. Maxx Crosby has gotta be chomping at the bit too. 20% of the reason the teams we've played look as good as they do is us.
  10. No practice Wed or Thurs. Gotta believe TT will start Sun night
  11. Do college defensive lines not run stunts? These guys have seen this shit before. Not saying it's all the coach...but lets make sure we put down the rose shaded glasses and see what these guys have accomplished even in 1:1 matchups
  12. Or we could take him in the top 10
  13. I played peewee football 1 season in 8th grade (and while in best shape of my life, I was far from good). I remember exactly two things when it comes to tackling. First is to wrap arms and drive thru the ball carrier. That involves keeping feet on ground and keeping legs moving because the ball carrier is expected to do the same. Secondly, when you can, pay attention to which shoulder you lead with or which side of the carrier you place your head as the tackler. The 2nd piece makes a huge difference between a 3 yard gain and a stop for a loss...and is also completely lost on NFL defenders.
  14. Don't fully disagree there...just think we have gone down the QB with shit in front of him path before and it didn't work. Would prioritize the lines. I honestly haven't looked at the college players coming out in 2024...so.if there is a can't miss QB...I can't say don't get him...but he damn well better not come from Duke and he better be able to put team on his shoulders rather than the other way around...cause without a fully functional line...he will have to
  15. I don't disagree with that approach at all. It is clear the lines are the largest problem (and have been) and need fixing. Need a RT and 2 guards for starters. I think we have to try Neal at one of the guard spots next year. So we need two starters for sure after moving Neal. The third offensive line addition needs to be an inside guy to spell Neal should that experiment fail...so 2 starters and a backup. I think we have some DT talent coming up behind Williams. I wouldn't resign him at all and focus more on a DE or two. Not a LB posing as a DE. We will meed another CB and S too cause AJ and McKinney should likely be gone. So all told... Starting RT Starting G Backup G Starting DE x2 Starting S Slot CB Do all possible to hit on those
  16. I certainly expected more this year too. We are the scrubs...that is a bitter pill.
  17. Agreed. We really need a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 LB who can play the run as well as the pass and shed a block. Ojulari hasn't been healthy to really make much of a determination and Thibs is more a pass rush specialist at this point.
  18. Yeah...this is where we just don't know if it's teaching or execution. Johnson could be telling Neal or the rest of the line exactly what needs done and the players are just incompetent...or maybe Johnson is putting them in poor positions with whatever scheme. We know the product on the field sucks. We can point to who isn't getting it done...but assigning fault is kinda tough until you see a guy fail at multiple positions or with multiple coaches. So yeah, maybe a change at OLine coach is warranted just to see if it lights that fire...but that's a slippery slope cause once you start firing coaches, that ball can run uphill pretty quick All that said, there are clear plays where the player effs up that can't fall on coaching (Neal's play)
  19. For the record, I like Schoen and Daboll and want both of them to see this through. If that means working though the Jones era, then I am here for it. That said, we are the worst of 32 rosters right now.
  20. I don't hate him (especially on a talentless team like ours), but think he is gonna get overpaid this offseason and hopefully not by us. I think he is a thumper type. Good in spots, but looking at all a safety does, he's average overall. He is not a ballhawk and he is not an overly enthusiastic tackler...opting to throw a shoulder at someone instead of taking them to the ground. Maybe slightly above average in coverage of TEs.
  21. It's almost as if there were concerns about the guy being 5'10 165 coming out or some shit like that
  22. I like Robinson as well, but kept him off for this reason.
  23. I've seen what I've needed to see at RT to wrap up that chapter at least.
