  1. Just tuned in...has it been us, or Eagles just not caring cause they're locked in at 5th seed
  2. Gotta believe that 2 QBs are going in top 4. My guess is Harrison Jr and top OT go as well. So you're probably looking at 2nd OT, 2nd WR, top defender regardless of position but likely CB or DE. Taking names out of it completely, 3rd QB seems like reaching at 5 overall. I am torn between wanting Harrison and 2nd OT. Don't know enough about CBs or DEs yet for any of them to jump off the page.
  3. I said it when Love left...he wasn't some hall of fame guy, but he just seemed like a guy who was gonna be missed, and he was.
  4. I wouldn't judge after rookie year only either...but yeah, there is something that just sucks about our line and it has been that way for what, 10 years?
  5. Like the past few weeks, don't want to win but will find myself rooting just the same. Hope the Eagles an Cowboys both fall and fall hard.
  6. Agreed I like what we have in Simmons. Wink seems to get him in good spots. And I think we are 5th. Bears locked in at number 1 with having Carolina's 1st
  7. Yeah, I wanted to lose out weeks ago, but when game is close, I find myself still rooting for our Giants. Win against GB was a fun one. Keeping it close against the Eagles was fun. And the fact they're still playing hard at this point of the season speaks very well of the coaches and should not go unnoticed. But yeah, play hard and lose these last two please...though if close, I am sure I'll find myself cheering for Blue
  8. Barkley has been playing as if auditioning...and can't blame him. I don't see the Giants tagging him the 2nd time...my bet is he plays elsewhere next year. We have DJ next year regardless, likely to start, with a 1st or 2nd round rookie to replace Tyrod.
  9. To be fair, DJ is a shell shocked David Carr now. It wasn't entirely his fault that he had constant pressure. Couple that with the ability to run and it makes sense he tucks and runs shortly after first or second read. He was a 2nd or 3rd round QB waaaayyyy overdrafted and thrust into a role the team wasn't ready to support. Had he come in and sat for a year or two like many 2nd or 3rd round guys do, developed and not have to play behind a line that had been outright neglected, his story may have been different. Irrelevant at this point because experience and injury have shaped him into a borderline starter at best, practice squad at worst. Likely falls into a career backup role that gets a shot to flash one more time with some other team when their starter goes down and by then, he won't have young legs to rely on.
  10. Drafting DJ was a product of two things and it's debatable in what order we would place them. First was the Eli effect. Just gonna say it...he is white, smart, pocket passer who has some athletic ability who despite the on field fallacies, carries himself very well off the field. You aren't gonna hear of him jerking off on a masseuse anytime soon I wouldn't think. He isn't going to be a PR nightmare and I really think ownership is more than willing to sacrifice on field ability if they can be assured of off field...normalcy, for lack of a better word. Secondly it was timing. I don't recall Jones having a ton of other QBs in his class, but could be mistaken. I seem to remember it being a weak group overall which in and of itself pushed him into the 1st round. Same can be said for when his rookie deal was up. He had one good, full season and Giants were shit outta options other than to start fresh, but they weren't gonna do that after he supposedly put it all together. For my money, I was waiting for him to win with his arm only. Put a couple 75% completion, 300+ yard games in a row with fewer than 50 rushing yards. There was movement in that direction, but not enough before we had to pay him. I will give our current FO a lot of credit in giving the team an out after two years cause that hedge is gonna save us in the long run it seems.
  11. That's enough "ifs" to call it a case by case basis. It's why teams put a round value on a player and why mocks are done. But there is a fine line between overdrafting a player due their position and ranking the premium positions (pass rush, qb, left tackle, etc). You look at your needs, you shore them up in FA to avoid HAVING to draft a specific position...giving yourself flexibility on draft day. Then, you hope to draft 1 or 2 day one starters and the rest to step into starting roles in a year or two.
  12. Apparently it is widespread enough that the league sent warning to teams...if you can believe what was mentioned during the game
  13. While we have a chance to play spoiler, I think Philly is still good enough to blow is out of the water. That said, if Eagles want to play 4D chess - they'll realize they missed the #1 seed and they will let Giants win knowing they hurt the Giants draft position by doing so. Beating the Giants may not improve anything for the Eagles playoff positioning.
  14. Watching Philly lose tonight to Drew Lock and Julian Love was pretty sweet.
  15. Can't say I disagree with any of that.
  16. I thought he would do well in KCs offense...and he would if he could remember how to catch. He gets open, will give him that much. But agreed, glad he is elsewhere.
  17. Yeah, the sideline catches want to make you think he is a #1 WR, but agree on the focal point. Moving him around the formation to gain matchups is likely the best way to use him...but those plays take time to develop usually...which means offensive line needs to play well...and they did against GB. At worst, he is Steve Smith...the one we drafted...who was incredible at finding a hole, sitting down, and getting a first down catch. Steve Smith often gets lost among the best WRs we have ever had in blue due to his getting injured and never fully recovering, but he is good company for Robinson to be in
  18. He broke out once before and then got broken. Think he is far more talented than his targets have dictated...so agree...but he has to stay healthy.
  19. They're asking the same questions of Love we have been of Jones. One game he has it, next he doesn't. Our offensive line played well...proves our skill positions aren't bad...though Hyatt kinda disappeared. I will take the win...but am not getting my hopes up for playoffs with 2 games against Philly still on the docket
  20. DeVito has definitely played his way into the 2nd QB spot and honestly, wouldn't hesitate to give him a shot at the starting spot even when all QBs come back healthy
  21. Yeah...wonder if Toney still has the Giants back tattoo to remind him of his asshattery.
  22. I haven't looked at prospects too closely yet, but I am kinda on board at this point going with an OT or Harrison at WR in the 1st. If both gone, should have a shot at one of these QBs...and I don't think you can pass up that opportunity to let them roll behind DeVito and Jones for a season. Either way, Jones is not the guy and is a product of great timing. He came out in a weak QB draft class and hit FA at a time where there was shit available at the QB position. Giants got suckered at both steps
  23. End of day, I think both are frustrated with losing given last year's success. Hope cooler heads prevail over the bye cause I like both Daboll and Wink. We shall see what comes of the offseason.
  24. If that chart is accurate, how bad is Josh Allen playing with all the turnovers?
