  1. The next coach that comes in here will clean house. Eli will remain and a few others. Shockey will be gone because the new coach will not want any comments being said to the media. It will be like when Dan Reeves took over. I'm dreading the thought but if the players quit on TC, then it needs to be done. I don't think the Maras will fire TC because it was what Wellington wanted for many years though.
  2. I looked on the replay and Plax was jogging on that play. If he was running, it would have been a catch or a pass interference on Pacman. It wasn't a bad decision for Manning as Plax was one on one with the 5' 8" Pacman.
  3. I wont give up until they lose next week but i'll still watch every game like I always did. I have only missed 2 games since 1985 because of funerals. I wont give up on Eli either but I do think he needs to sit for a quarter to get his head out of his ass.
  4. They lose next week, it will be a 7-9 or an 8-8 season at best with no wild card.
  5. No matter how much Manning deserves to be benched, it can't be done until they are out of it. As bad as things look at the moment, it wont be over until they lose next week. This is an injury depleted team on offense and defense. There's more problems on this team than Eli.
  6. I can't change it for a few more months per Sportswrath. There's more wrong with this team than Manning though. Put a young hungry WR in there that finishes his routes and I think you'll see some of Mannings mistakes go away. JMO
  7. I just looked at the replay again, you're right, it wasn't thrown up for grabs. Pac man made a good play on it and it could have been thrown a little higher. We still have one more important game, I guess we just need to keep our faith and hope that this team can gain some fucking heart.
  8. I'm not sticking up for Eli, he clearly lost the game with his last minute INT but the pass down the sideline to plax was on Plax. After watching the replay several times, he clearly slowed up again. Watch the replay.
  9. Somehow Eli needs to get his head back in the game. Plax needs to go. Defense is a bunch of backups. What can they do? Next game will be the deciding factor, no changes until the season is officially over which will probably happen next week. Thats my 2 cents.
  10. I feel your pain. After watching the replay several times now, Plax clearly gave up on that sideline route. Plax needs to go and Manning needs to sit. Eli cannot throw that last pass up for grabs like he did. Maybe because the season isn't officially over until they lose to the Cowboys next week, we shouldn't give up yet, but I'm disgusted.
  11. Accorsi didn't want Coughlin, it was Wellington Mara. I don't believe that his son will get rid of Coughlin easily as it was one of the last things his father wanted. Coughlin may be moved up to GM though. The draft picks have been better since TC arrived.
  12. Our net loss was 3 draft picks, one being a first rounder. Just like you said, we never wanted Rivers, so in essence, we moved up 3 places in the draft and gave away 3 draft picks in doing so. Bottom line, you can't say we lost 4 draft picks but you can say we gave up 4 draft picks for 1 draft pick. I may have misunderstood you.
  13. Sure you can, it's called growing pains. All QBs go into slumps. Ben did it this year and so did Brady. QBs are not machines nor robots, they are human. Eli needs to get into a rhythm and his teammates are not helping him right now and at the end of last year. QBs and WRs feed off each other. You can give up on Manning, be my guest. I have seen what he can do and I'm gonna stick with him.
  14. Even with John Fox, they broke down in the Super Bowl against a team that had no offense.
  15. I'll still stick with Eli even if the team tanks this year. We have a fucking decimated team with a young QB. The defense stunk earlier this year when they were fully healthy. Eli isn't the only one that needs to step up, it's the whole team. Eli was crucified last year after the playoff disaster. What has Barber done in the playoffs? He had one good game in San Francisco when our defense collapsed. Speaking of our defense, when was the last time they made a crucial stop when the game was on the line in the postseason? They only played one good game in the 42-0 championship game and stunk it up in the Super Bowl. Besides that one game, they haven't been the same since Parcells. They have been a bend but don't break defense, but they have broke in every post season game since 1990 excluding the 42-0 game. Eli was blamed last year in the first Cowboy game after he tied up the game only for the defense to break again.
  16. That was a nice analysis. It must have took some time in doing it. I am not denying that Eli didn't become very average in the second half of last season. You also must look deeper into some of the games. Plax dropped a sure TD in the second Redskin game and it would have been a momentum changer. I'm not denying that Eli doesn't have accuracy issues, most do early in their careers. Ben last year and Rivers and Romo this year are very rare for young QBs. Please tell me any others beside Marino and Montana, who played in a west coast offense with the dink and dunk passes, that have lit it up early in their careers? If Eli is so bad, then please tell me why he threw more TD passes in a single season than Aikman ever had? And please don't tell me that Eli has a more talented team than Aikman had. Let's see, we only lost one 1st rounder the following year (2005). Please explain about this other 1st rounder that you are talking about. In 2004, we picked Rivers with the 4th pick and traded it for SD's 1st pick. We still acquired a 1st rounder in Eli Manning. We also gave up our 3rd round pick that year (2004). In 2005, we gave up our 1st and 5th rounder. I might be forgetting about another pick but it clearly wasn't a first rounder. We picked Kiwanuka in the first round this year (2006).
  17. Ahhhh but you forgot to add in that when he throws a good pass, it is often dropped. I agree that his accuracy has been bad the last four games. It's not something that I've heard, it's something that I have known for years, take a sack instead of throwing the ball away and you have one less incompletion. Since you want to bring up the turnover rate, it has been better than these other great QBs in their early years. These last two losses are clearly put on Manning and I'm not happy about it. I think he needs to sit and get his head together for a few series. I'm defending Manning because I like to look at the big picture instead of the last few games. I chose this handle because I believe that when it is all said and done, he will be a winner.
  18. You make a great point and it is the first time I've heard it brought up. That could well undermine this team and it could be the reason why he is usually by himself on the sidelines. TC needed to get in his face on one of those INTs that he threw.
  19. This is where Huff really fucked up, on the first offensive series when it was 3rd and 2 at the 22 yard line, they threw for the endzone when they only needed 2 yards for the first down. They needed to get the 1st down first and foremost so they would have had 4 more opportunities to get in the endzone. That was a huge fuck up. It could have been 7-0 instead of 3-0 and it would have given the offense some confidence to start the game with.
  20. You do make a valid point but I'm sure that the coaches tell these guys to keep running their routes. They practice this every day to get their timing down.
  21. You're out of your mind, the pass was perfectly thrown, Plax slowed up on it. Watch the replay, cameras don't lie. Now back to the subject, I think Tiki complained about the play calling. I wish someone would have called in to their show and explained that on the first offensive series, it was 3rd and 2 at the 22 yard line when Manning over threw Plax in the endzone. They only needed 2 yards for a first down. They should have played it safe and tried for the 1st down, it would have given them 4 more opportunities to score a TD. I believe that is the reason why Tiki complained today.
  22. No, what it proves is that most QBs including the great ones started out with mediocre pass completion pct. just like Eli. The facts are that Eli didn't get sacked alot. QBs that take sacks have a higher completion pct. So if we go back and look at all of these other QBs and see their amount of sacks in their early years, and if they have twice as many sacks per attempt, that would be a big bonus for Eli. I'm just adding more light on this subject. I know that Eli had a few poor games and his accuracy has been putrid lately.
  23. We didn't give up 2 first rounders. We swapped first rounders, then gave up one 1st rounder, two 3rd rounders and one 5th rounder.
