  1. No such thing as a Giants linebacker who is both good and healthy. I have greater faith in seeing Bigfoot at the Super Bowl Halftime Show than Kennard lasting 16 games.
  2. +1 Guys, please, get this whole linebacker thing out of your heads. You are just setting yourself up for disappointment.
  3. I would suggest you avoid logic when discussing the draft and positional needs.
  4. It's accurate as far as I can see. And I think when you combine his personality with his track record, it's worse. I don't know where to pin the blame for all the injuries. I think a great deal of it is bad luck, but I believe that the team's strength and conditioning program failed. I don't know how much of that should be tagged on Coughlin, for keeping the same staff and structure in place....or maybe that is a front office call, I honestly don't know. But, Reese has drafted guys more for their combine highlights than their ability to play football, and their toughness/durability. I've lost track of how many college guys with injury histories were selected, in the hope that somehow, going from college to the most injury-prone team in the NFL would somehow change that track record.
  5. Sorry, I won't waste my time watching Reese and Company fuck the dog again. And I respect the opinions of SW's crew more than most analysts anyway. Keep me posted.
  6. It's Reese's fault. I know the Giants haven't had many GMs.... Catholics change Popes more often. But in my opinion Jerry Reese is the worst defensive GM this team has seen. He has a flawed view of linebackers, and this in turn has translated into defenses that more often than not get absolutely fucking abused by mobile QBs, tight ends, and dual threat running backs. His best defensive pick - JPP - has had one great season, and the rest have been mixed at best. Reese flat out sucks, and eventually he will get fired. Until then, expect the Giants defense and its linebacker tradition to get dragged through the shitter at least one more season.
  7. He was nothing but pure ESPN Hype. Not happy to see anyone piss away their natural talent, but have to say it's funny considering what everyone was saying about this jackass when he was in college. "Johnny Football".... LMFAO.
  8. Agreed. Our SC program has sucked ass, for years. Beatty was the 100th final straw as far as I'm concerned.
  9. Giants specialize in torn pecs, so this looks like a great fit.
  10. Until I see otherwise, this defense still blows, and linebacker is a huge reason why. I'll judge this defense on yards and points allowed. The only thing for certain is the Giants will not draft a linebacker until the 5th, at the very earliest. I've got Antonio Morrison at the top of the Giants draft chart for linebacker. Everyone else will be long gone by the time the Genius sets his draft sights on the position.
  11. Get that 1st pick out of your head. Will never happen.
  12. I'm trying to remember when I gave less of a shit about the NY Giants than I do now.
  13. Another fantastic Reese pick.
  14. It's the type of move I would expect. In Reese World, every play ends with the defensive end sacking the QB, or the defensive tackle stuffing the running back. In Reese world, there are no QBs that can outrun defensive linemen. There are no runningbacks who can catch a pass in the flat and bust to the outside for a 13 yard gain on 3rd and 11. There are no fast Tight Ends with hands in Reese World.
  15. Yup. This linebacking group needs to get ALOT better before they allow someone like Brinkley to go. Frankly, on most other defenses, he'd be an average player. It's not too much to ask that your linebackers be tough. For most GMs, that's a baseline. For Reese, being a hard hitter is way down the list of priorities, far behind all the Magic Beans qualities that lead him to believe that Adrien Robinson was an NFL caliber Tight End, or that James Brewer was an NFL caliber OL, or that a large cornerback like Jacquian Williams, who got washed away like a fucking sandcastle in the run game, was an answer at LB.
  16. Good. He was one of the few guys who could shed a block and jump a gap.
  17. I agree that offensive lineman in the early rounds usually have more bang for the buck than any other position. Regardless of the offensive fireworks between Eli and Beckham, this offense couldn't run the ball when they really needed it, and that helped to hang the defense out to dry in the 4th quarter.
  18. Like they need another TE. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000645101/article/martellus-bennett-traded-by-bears-to-patriots
