yeah pedro looks like he'll be just fine and that's better than anyone you can trade for midseason. im not aware of when sanchez will be back but the mets bullpen is still one of the best even without him. another big x factor is reyes. i think i just heard on the radio that he's batting .250 or something since may 11th--the mets offense will go as far as he takes them and there's no way he bats under .300 the rest of the season. once he gets going again the mets will steamroll through the division--im not impressed wtih the braves OR phils, especially since neither have capitalized on the mets mini-slump. they're still the best team in the NL and have an AL offense. like i've said a few times, as a pads fan, the mets are the only team i don't feel confident against

now do it two more times please

plus the mets have been missing alou and green. they will be fine, i just wish those two were back for the dodgers series

the immortal matt bush. remember when the pads took him 1st overall instead of verlander or weaver? well he's in danger of being the 3rd ever number 1 overall pick to never make the majors so we're converting him to a pitcher. of course we could've circumvented the entire process by just DRAFTING verlander or weaver but i guess it's too late for that

cuz with the exception of peavy we dont draft stud pitchers. we draft ss's and convert them to pitchers :brooding:

don't let it happen again but seriously, i dont know what's up with schoenweiss. he was great prior to this season and looked to be a solid under the radar signing by omar. while i think burgos needs a bit of help with his control--the best remedy, IMO, is to have him up in the majors and working with rick peterson. all bullpens have bad spurts and i expect the mets' bullpen to go back to normal, but i chalk up their recent struggles to injuries to their lineup. once everyone is healthy and hitting again i don't see how they won't take off and leave the rest of the NL east in the dust. yeah the phillies and braves have pretty damned good teams but the mets are on another level. i still disagree about the starting rotation cuz i think the wildcard here is germano (if you get to include to include sosa). he's still going strong and i know bud black will make the right decision when hensley is healthy and keep germano in the 5th spot

what about holliday? doesn't look like he wants to stay in colorada cuz he wont negotiate an extension with them. he has another year before FA too so that'll give you at least another year ot let gomez and/or martinez get ready
