fastball sinker slider. he's a bit like perez in the sense that he'll sometimes forget a few minor things in his mechanics and he'll suddenly have a shitty inning. i know perez has a problem with keeping his delivery compact at times and lawrence is the same way with his arm slot, he'll drop down too low in the later innings and peterson might have to go out there and give a gentle reminder. him, eaton and peavy were our future at the turn of the millenium and he was actually the most accomplished of the three for a while--you can even argue he was our ace in 2002 and he had a few years when his era was under 4.00. but then (if i remember correctly) his last season was garbage and then he was hurt for all of 06. to behonest i dont even remember ifhe was in the starting rotation in 05 or if he was in the bullpen

A 14 year old Redskin fan's take on the Giants
Herc replied to jerseygiantfan's topic in New York Giants
what compels people to make these videos? do people wake up and say "hey, the world wants to know what ithink about the giants, so not only will i videotape my opinion but i'll completely wing it too" -
Im surprised nobody has mentioned Santana ripping the Twins

i think the yes network sale is a precursor to the yanks being sold. steinbrenner isn't doing well and for wahtever reason it's going underreported by the ny media -
i have sizemore and v-mart, no complaints here
-
cleveland smacked him around last time he faced them, 3 runs in 6.2 is ok though, still considered a quality start
-
i dont care what he says as long as he produces and plays hard

oh wow i forgot holmes and he's one of my favs. so yeah i guess him and tyson + the 8 i mentioned in my last post would be my top ten--i have no idea how i would order them though -
i dont think strahan should be wanting more money, an extension i could understand, but a flat out raise just cuz freeney got paid is a tad unreasonable IMO--he's the one who wanted all that money upfront back in 2002 or whatever when he was negotiating the extension and tiki opened his big mouth, so he basically already got paid big and now there's barely anything left in his deal. freeney got his big contract just like strahan got his a few years ago. but none of this pisses me off or makes me not like the guy anymore, he's been on the team since i started watching full-time and i know he'll end up playing anyway. as long as he plays and produces he's cool with me

still my favorite giant, this shit is just how it is in sports these days--gotta accept it
-
when shockey dropped that pass and smiled i interpreted it as more of a 'wow, unreal' like when ur playing poker and someone calls you with a stupid hand and beats you on the river and you just can't do anything but laugh
-
you know what i mean. the last year of a coach's contract never counts in giant-land, im talking about an actual long-term extension or some type of vote of confidence--not a 'let's put off the decision till next year' one year extension

his day will come when he can sign with whatever team he wants, he didn't HAVE to give his first year (or whatever) of free agency away. he knew what he signed up for when he signed that deal -
looks like he just wanted some time off, he didn't count on reese being as good at the PR game as he proved to be this past week. im sure the seattle fans never stayed mad at walter jones when he was doing this for three years straight

no one is better than a-rod, but take a look around the rest of the league. there aren't that many good 3b around and if a-rod leaves you'll join the rest of us 95% of the league who doens't have a great player at the hot corner. wilson betimit could start for quite a few teams at 3b, obviously you'd want someone better next season, but that goes for most positions on most teams. as far as your comparisons go, cairo was a starter at the beginning of his careerwith the cards and betimit has always been a utility man--cairo wasn't a utility man till he came to the yanks. a better way to look at it would be by number of at bats, not number of seasons. no one's saying that betimit is a great player or anywhere near arod, but he definitely has more pop than cairo

honestly i dont know if i could pick 10 who are better than tyson, so maybe even top ten. no order: ali marciano lewis frazier dempsey patterson holyfield foreman im sure im missing a few people. i wouldn't put lennox lewis in the top ten though, i like tyson better -
he didn't do much in free agency and it's too early to say anything about the draft, but so far i like reese too. but the truth is that promoting an assistant gm and refusing to make a decision on coughlin (extend him or fire him) shows me that they have no balls

im not high on gabbard either. i saw him start against cleveland and he got lit up and blew a huge lead (i think it was 6 runs or so) -

im surprised you aren't psyched to see joba up here -
now it's official!

who cares what john mara thinks, i've seen no indications that this team's future is in the right hands.
-
i dont know, how much better could the red sox be? they already had a really good bullpen edit: i think they're the best team in baseball with or without the trade
-
we own the dodgers bullpen, now we'll just own them some more. and everytime we hit proctor i'll thank joe torre

Braves close on trade for Mark Teixeira
Herc replied to RandolphScott's topic in Major League Baseball
sounds more like a brighton beach name -
i saw gabbard's start against cleveland and i really wasn't impressed at all, but that's just one start. they kept delcarman which was smart--i couldn't believe those rumors about the sox considering trading him
