  1. Oh, you meant the AL east! In what paragraph did you explain that? If I remember right, it was the Blue Jays who started the super high salaries when they paid Delgado 20 mil a yr. forcing Texas to pay Arod 25 mil. You can correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. The new Mr. October! I swear! He's different guy this year. Some more of that along with the luck, we'll win this thing.
  3. Col over Phils in 5. Tough call. Phils are great on the road, though Col has all these sinker ballers. Bums over St. Lou in 4 Col over Bums in 6 Yanks over Min in 4. On paper, but I'm not feeling it. Sox over LA in 5 Yanks over Sox in 7. Feeling it. Yanks over Col in 6.
  4. If it wasn't the most embarrassing moment in the history of sports, it certainly has to be in the conversation. Ya gotta feel sorry for the guy.
  5. Well, if you add up the numbers, he probably is overrated. But then when you watch his play in tight situations, he deserves every bit of the attention he gets.
  6. I think it was either Pena or Hairston, and Hairston was picked because of his experience and power. Myself, I would have preferred Pena, but I'm biased towards youth. I also like Pena batting left handed, and for his additional range in the middle, and for what I think, more speed on the bases. They are both prone to errors at the worst possible times. SoCal, if you and Hugh don't mind a little sarcasm, 3 catchers are necessary because we may need Posada's bat.
  7. It sounds good to me.
  8. Did anybody hear who would be on the roster? All I heard was Kay's and Flaherty's speculation, so I'm glad they're not in on the decision making.
  9. Until I see Eli play a couple of games, I'll be worried. Even if Carr turns out to be okay, it won't be near the same.
  10. I'm not so sure. Manningham proved he could break 'em, and Hixon is more suited for punt returns with his sneaky get up and go. I'm with you, though he'll probably have to earn his way, which I'm pretty sure he will.
  11. It's always good to have a couple of old guys around to teach the young. It could be the a big reason for the turn around. You almost had it, and you might have if you didn't lose your catcher.
  12. It's the intangibles. Eli does what he needs to do to get the job done. I wouldn't trade him for Peyton or Brady.
  13. I don't think their D was near as bad as their O, especially on their pass coverage. I think that held the score down more than our lack of red zone antics.
  14. And no congrats from the low class Sox and Mets fans.
  15. Now that's funny. I didn't know there was still a war going on over there.
  16. Let's not get too excited about our D-line penetrating TB's O-line.
  17. But look at the money they're making. There are a lot hotter jobs being done with nowhere near the pay.
  18. I was just about to say the Mets were a good team and were in the hunt before the injuries. Now, go away! We're talking about something important here. Hey blu! I know it's a public school, fer Christ's sake. Is it in a ghetto?
  19. Good or bad, Romo is more marketable than White ever was.
  20. I didn't know he could speak English. That would mean he read the articles the newspapers wrote about him. Poor fuck! Where'd you go to school, anyway?
  21. I watched every pitch of every game that I could during the Horace Clark years.
  22. Ha! Ha! Ha! But that's exactly what I'm talking about. Posada has no rapport with our starting pitchers, save for maybe Gaudin. It seems to me he's intimidating them or something. How he handles the relievers is beyond me. Maybe they're not out there long enough for him to get into their heads.
  23. Magic # is 5. Posada may be out for a few days with his sore toe. We'll miss his bat, but it will give Molina more time to get the pitching staff in order. Hugh?
