  1. Thames isn't showing the hustle he had the first time we had him, so I think he's a goner. I still don't think Winn will be happy as a 4th outfielder. And, Hoffman? I doubt he'll be on the roster if we get to keep him.
  2. One thing I'd like to suggest. Bat Arod 3rd since he hits for a higher average, and it will be better protection for him than Posada or Cano.
  3. It's shit like this that me me proud to know Blunatic. That some kinda forward thinking, old timer. The only thing is, I'd rather work on the defense.
  4. http://www.detnews.com/article/20100306/SPORTS0104/3060408/1004/SPORTS/Austin-Jackson-is-grade-A-in-debut-week-for-Tigers There's a lot of hype building in Motown for this kid. Now, since I understand the Yankees' need for a lefty power hitter for the short porch in right, I'm completely neurtral on the trade. But I'm going to be pissed if this kid winds up playing D like Torri Hunter while hitting like Jeter.
  5. It says an over active thyroid. If he takes a pill for that, he'll gain weight. Then the speed suffers.
  6. I hope he comes around. With Pierce gone, we need at least one vet in the mix, even one that's over the hill.
  7. I thought he was talking about Steinbrenner.
  8. We picked up O.J. Anderson when he was over the hill. Without him, we don't win the SB.
  9. I'll getcha back for that. Thank you, but that's Dittoan. Not that it has anything to do with baseball.
  10. 1. Jeter 2. Nick Johnson 3. Tex 4. Arod 5. Posada 6. Cano 7. Gunderson 8. Swisher 9. Gardner I would personally switch Tex and Arod, but I doubt Joe is listening. Arod has a higher OPB and it would take him out of the pressure situation. When Posada's out, move Swish up and put Cervelli at #8. Nick Johnson in the 2 hole has a high OPB and should be good for 15 homers or more in this stadium. I think Winn will be unhappy sitting on the bench and would be used as trade bait.
  11. 7', huh? NY ought to build a statue for George to rival the Colossus of Rhodes. But that's a good one about the syringe.
  12. If they don't give the third OF job to Gardner, I too will become a Miami Dolphin fan. (only during baseball season, though)

  14. Don't those muffers speak French? You mean they work cheaper than the Chinese?
  15. Humility alone will not make him grow hair on his ass.
  16. Did he agree to try and teach that new catcher they were talking about. I don't know who. Poser?
  17. Link Ordinarily, marriage extends a guys life, but she might kill him.
  18. Before he dismisses Pierce, he better have a replacement because so far, we don't have any.
  19. I'm sorry if you're offended. I was just putting 2 and 2 together. In fact, since I considered you a true student of the game, I was shocked that you said it. I don't know if it is older than me, but you're right, it is old.
  20. What? That he's clutch? Yes, you did. That you liked him? No, but you insinuated it. That you don't believe a catcher can make a difference with a pitching staff? Well, you once called catching gear the tools of ignorance, so yeah.
  21. When I had cable, I rarely had a down time, but neighborhoods around me did using the same company. The thing is, when cable goes out, it stays out for hours or longer sometimes. When satellite goes out, it's only for a few minutes during an electric storm. Fios would probably be a nice option, but Verizon hasn't laid their fiber optics here, and they probably never would. I doubt they even know we're here. In fact, I doubt God knows we're here. I have to travel 20 miles just to get decent Italian bread.
  22. The way I saw it, the cold got to Favre, but not Eli. And Dallas? Well, they had the talent, but they gave away the game with their penalties. And, as far as TB and the Pats went, what can I say? Eli! Eli is a god.
