  1. That's a good point. I'll be watching baseball, and I'm hoping Fox won't pull that crap.
  2. Also, unless Pettitte goes on short rest Thus., Gaudin will have to start.

    Jeter

Though you ought to get that looked at, Jeter had his for a lot longer. I was a pack a day smoker and worked in a stinky chemical plant, and didn't cough as much as he does. What's a minka, anyway?
  4. NBC I never like Fox coverage, and tonight I don't have to listen to Troy Aikman.
  5. Player ratings This isn't only about the Yankees, though I would have certainly bumped up guys like Jeter, Arod, (best yr yet as a Yankee), Tex, and CC in the rankings. But there are others like D. Wright, J. Santana (an easy 20 game winner on a healthy team), Beltran (still one of the best O and D), Youkilus, Pedroia (who didn't even make the list of 100), Morneau, K. Morales, etc. These are just AL guys that come to mind. I'm sure VG would like to add to the list. My biggest gripe? Javier Visguez picked so high up. Dude couldn't even pitch in the AL.
  6. What's that about? And don't be so hard on me. I still like baseball at any level. Don't you have a way to tape the games?

    Jeter

Is he sick? I mean, really sick? Or is he a big smoker in private life? I've noticed for a couple of seasons now, that he's been coughing. They say it's just a cold, but I seriously doubt it.
  8. I agree Hinski should have been picked before Guzman. If Girardi wants speed, why isn't he playing Gardner? Gaudin and Aceves have proved much more reliable than Bruney, who seems to have been punked out by that asshole Mets' closer, frod. Don't get me started on the Posada vs Molina thing. If Molina caught more often, we'd have gone into the series with a solid 4 man rotation. Yep, CC is our ace in the hole. I think Pettite can pull it out if we get enough hitting. The only thing that worries me about Pettitte, though, is he has the added pressure of pitching for next yrs contract, just like he did in '03. If Girardi gets fired, it should be because he let Hughes lose the pop in his fastball because of lack of use.
  9. I know the feeling. If Showalter would have taken out Cone in '95 and put in Mo, we'd have had another ring. And that was the Mattingly team.
  10. Not as gay as the rally rags.
  11. I have no idea why he removed Robertson. I could see if he was being hit hard, but he wasn't. And the kid holds his shit together in pressure situations. Another thing about pinch running Gardner. Get him in the freaking game instead. Start him! He's a .270 hitter for Christ's sake, and he causes chaos on the bases. He's also proven to be one of our best clutch hitters. There's enough power in the line up, especially with Posada behind the plate.
  12. Jose doesn't go to the mound too often, but AJ had nothing working but his fastball. I'd say he handled it as well as expected.
  13. You don't know how Cervelli's going to turn out. Posada wasn't too bad back in the 90's, but then they were basically Girardi's pitching staffs. All those Molina boys are good with pitchers, and although Jose can't hit, I think he's the best of the three. LaRusso swears by Yolinda, and has stated he doesn't care if he'd ever hit, he's still be his #1 guy.
  14. Keep telling yourself that. You'll miss him when he's a back up for the Sox next year. Think about it! CC, AJ, Joba, Pettitte, and Hughes. We should have been a .700 team this year.

    A no-brainer

It must be those short legs. The guy can start and stop quicker than anyone I've ever seen.
  16. Helluva win last night! The old chi-che, it's better to be lucky than good. And I don't just mean the hitting, either. AJ's junk wasn't working for shit, and he became unwound there in the 5th. Molina? On the good side, the new Mr. October, Arod, does it again with his game tying HR. I'm really beginning to like that guy. Kate must be doing him a world of good. And, Teix's defense! What can I say? I think he's better than Mattingly was at reigning in those errant throws. There's also the pitchers picking up the sloppy fielding by Jeter and Cano. It's all good! Now let's try for a sweep.
  17. It's a true test for the Giants overall, and for Brees against our D. My gut says we will prevail, but it's going to be a tough one. I think what it comes down to, can we hurry Brees with a four man rush.
  18. That's my main problem with him. It would be nice if he could get those 1, 2 or 3 yrds, but a Larry Csonka he's not.
  19. 1. It's nice that the Giants are picked by so many even though the only decent team we beat was Dallas. 2. I think the Vikes are overrated. They will get theirs.
  20. Is this a fact? The guy doing the game yesterday said he was a FA after this season.
  21. That's exactly why he should have gone with Bohmar yesterday, instead of Carr. Try the kid out with an easy team, first. Carr will sign elsewhere because he has no future here. I'm not sure I want him anyway. When has he been tested against a good defense?
  22. Not that I wanted to play you guys, but that was a hard way to lose it with the bull pen you have. I'm not here to bust balls except for one thing. Where in hell was Varitek when all this was happening? He has to be the best pitcher's catcher the AL had in the last couple of decades.
  23. Now you're talking about ancient history. I was referring to the latest surge. I thought I explained that in the 3rd paragraph. Try and follow!
