  1. Crap, Hughes is doing so good in the pen, the papers are starting to hint the Yanks ought to make him the heir apparent to Mo. I hope Girardi can't read. They forget that Mo became a reliever only because he'd get a blister whenever he tried to go beyond 5 innings.
  2. Good theory, and besides, Blu ought to remember his team dismantling Cleveland's fab 4 in the 1954 WS.
  3. As it stands now, our only effective rightie is Mitre, and he is a #5 starter at best. Lately, our two lefties and the bats have been carrying us. I doubt that would wash in the PO's.
  4. Hopefully, we put all of our bad into one game. Next to rest, Melky and Cano. Don't wait too long. I'll give Joe a buzz.
  5. I don't remember LT being so hot in pass coverages either. Look how that turned out. I'm not comparing Goff to LT, not by a long shot, but I think we keep him.
  6. Now, before it's too late. The hell with Gehrig's hit record. He's got plenty of time to catch him later, or even next year. Who cares? Look what happened to Michael Young. It's what happens to guys that are on base all the time. All we need for Jeter to pull a hammy, or worse yet, a quad. I remember Bernie coming up lame every time he was deep in a hot streak.
  7. I'm not so sure. I think it's easier to learn how to block than to learn how to catch.
  8. I agree. After he learns a few moves, we may finally have our own Jerry Rice. It's not that far fetched given his hands. I'm worried about the hip flexor injury, though.
  9. Who're you talking about, Tyree or Moss?
  10. Who're you talking about, Tyree or Moss?
  11. I like your picks except for Darcy Johnson. I know he hasn't had a good showing, but he has the potential to be a freaking animal in the Mark Bavaro mold.
  12. It sounds like you guys could have used him. How many times did you lose 1-0 this year? I'm with ya, though it would be nice for Torre to show up at the stadium one more time in the near future.
  13. That's what I like about you, Hugh. You're loyal to the end.... Like a puppy dog.
  14. You want to fix Burnett for the play offs? Give him to Molina or Cervelli the rest of the season.
  15. Yeah, but take him out of the equation, the Giant D sucks.
  16. He should be able to handle 1b. Not great, but I've seen worse. Bat him 5th to protect Manny.
  17. I can think of two. Carnahan, who was put on waivers, and Andre Woodson.
  18. I don't think it matters what string D he plays against. It's the hands that make him eligible for 1st string IMHO. He had to reach for all 3 catches. One was a shoe string, one behind the defender, and the one down the right sideline, he practically caught in his finger tips.
  19. Nicks=great hands. He only missed one pass, and that was thrown high and behind him when he was crossing the field at a good giddy yap. Looks like he'll be one of the better receivers around the league. A starter for sure.
  20. Why is everyone picking the cowgirls to have a dismal season? Did I miss something?
  21. I don't remember seeing that play. Awesome!! It's no wonder I think I turn on the games to see what he's going to do next.
  22. Nooooooo! Marilyn was the pin up to which all other pin ups are compared, past and present. Sort of like the Babe Ruth of pin ups. (Or the Derek Jeter of short stops )
  23. Since I figured the media would know better, I used to go along with that before I watched Arod and Jeter play side by side every day. There may be better defensive shortstops than Jeter, but Arod isn't one of them. And please don't tell me Arod is playing out of position, because I've seen his reaction time.
  24. Was it the new coordinator or lack of Pierce, like last year? Seriously, Blackburn may have a nose for the ball, but he doesn't read the offense near as well as Pierce.
  25. Shhh! We play better when we sneak up on 'em.
