  1. the 5 / 6 thing is debatable I also picked 6 which I took to be wrong because they specified NFL Championship or Superbowl. The win in the 20s was not technically an "NFL Champiuonship" game or so I have been told. I think any of us who said either 5 or 6 should be allowed to say they where right on that one though as it comes down to semantics which is silly.
  2. Newsday quiz some tough ones there. Ashamed to admit I only got 15 of 20
  3. I have to question why Dallas is still #3. They have been limping since their near loss to Detroit a month ago.
  4. on paper tampa but I don't think we have ever beeten Garcia so .......
  5. yep it is one of the very few things I like about Jim Rome. Never thought of Chrissy any other way after that interview.
  6. I agree. Philly, Dallas and Wash are the teams I hate the most. Philly is probably slightly ahead of the other two just because so many of their fans are in the NYC area and to a man they are a bunch of loud mouth, know it all pigeon fans. After those 3 I would have to go with the 49ers and then the Rams. I don'thave hard numbers to back it up but I think the Rams kind of owned us for most of the 80s and 90s. I still get sick to my stomach thinking about Chrissy Everett, Brad DelPino and flipper f'kin Anderson.
  7. I was absolutely appalled by the poor performance of the Giants yesterday. If we play like that in the second half we will probably end up at 7 - 9. The dolphins gave us that game we did not win it. And Larry Tynes has absolutely got to go. It is a miracle that guy has not cost us a game yet.
  8. Mo's Carribean Brother Jimmies 77th / 78th and second. A little bit of a frat party but both places have tons of screens, big crowds, lots of ladies etc.
  9. right now they need to focus on beating the Falcons. If you start looking weeks ahead you are toast in this league. Hell we are in 3rd place in our division right now. Just make sure they win this week in Atl.
  10. good solid showing. Massive improvement for Madison ( hamstring getting healthy? ) and Kiwanuka was a force. And Ross has showed huge improvement. It will be great if he keeps improving this much every week. Mitchell looked lazy out there I thought (sarcasm). This definately gives the G-Men something to build on.
  11. I am hoping Fox gets dumped in Carolina. I would love to have him running things. The defense is a complete disgrace. Just pathetic. Worst I have ever seen from the giants and I have been watching and going to games for over 3 decades. they are HORRIBLE.
  12. could not agree more. Palmieri has got to go.
  13. hire the big daddy from Wayne. Not going to happen. Joe Carini is an interesting guy and knows quite a bit about strength ( former powerlifting champ in NJ ) but there is no way he is getting a job with an NFL franchise. Nothing against the guy, many people make mistakes in their youth but the guy does have a bit of a checkered past.
  14. with Spags as the defensive coordinator we should certainly have the inside scoop on what he has left.
  15. the post this morning said 4 - 6 weeks is typical. Demps said he had the same injury his rookie year and only missed 3 weeks. I guess we will see. The Jennings thing was unfortunate because he seems like a good kid but with Smith here he was a #4 at best and was fighting Mix for a roster spot. Madison's injury has me very worried. Depending on the severity that could hinder him for the whole season. Bad Hammies take a long time to heal 100%.
  16. he didn't help himself in practice yesterday either. supposedly he gave Lorenzen a pretty vicious shot.
  17. panic will most likely set in immediately following Dallas's loss to the Giants in their home oppener. Despair will follow closely on panic's heels Monday morning when TO starts trashing Romo in the press.
  18. I am a Blackburn fan as well. He had a nice open field tackle Sat night on a screen pass btw.
  19. from what I have heard ther is a lot of talk of a platoon on the left side with Joseph playing on running downs and Tuck playing on obvious passing downs. That having been said Joseph played pretty soft on the left edge last night and Tuck looked pretty good on some plays that went to the offensive left or the defensive right pursuing from the backside so.......
  20. kind of hate to bring it up but if you are watching now check out the play of Beason for the Panthers. He had a great debut last night.
  21. The first team defense played very poorly. LBs where out of position / over persuing and both ends on the line where way to soft. Obviously this is only the first pre season game but this had better get cleaned up before September or it will be a long season. enough of the negatives though. Lorenzen looked very good. The kid has always had a cannon as we all know but now seems in much better control of the flow of the game. He made some nice decisions including an audible to the draw that yielded Ward's 5 yard td. Tuck had two real nice tackles working down the line from the backside on runs. his speed is quite evident out there. Bradshaw showed some real quickness / explosiveness in the open field. DeOssie will be fine as Kuels replacement snapping and had a nice sack ( they gave him 1/2 officialy but he brought the pressure ) as well as two tackles. Will Demps had a great sack and made the key block that sprang Ward on his long kickoff return. Diehl looked reasonably comfortable and handled his duties at LT well. anyone else think this cat Dahl is going to be gone during the first set of cuts??? He did not help himself at all last night.
  22. What was it Reggie Dunlop said to the owner of the Chiefs??? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reggie Dunlop: [to Anita McCambridge] You know, your son looks like a fag to me. You better get married again 'cause he's gonna wind up with somebody's cock in his mouth before you can say 'Jack Robinson'.
  23. bravo. F'k that gapped tooth ass hat.
  24. If you can't make 8 million guaranteed over 5 years work for you you have big problems. Not that a lot of these guys don't blow it though. great to see everyone got signed.
