  1. the sad thing here was there was absolutely no need what so ever for a new stadium.
  2. I kept my official Mike Vick Doggie Chew Toy sealed. That sucker is going to be worth a fortune some day. or not. Collectors love the whole mint condition thing though. About 5 years ago I was cleaning a crawl space at my parents and found all my old matchbox cars. Found out they would have been worth a fortune if I still had the boxes that they came in. Of course when I was six I wasn't thinking about that.
  3. what the hell is this all about: Osi: 'I'm Alex Rodriguez' by ETVal on Jul 1, 2008 7:27 AM EDT in News It seems that maybe we have another New York Giant star angling for a broadcasting career. I was shocked to turn my radio to ESPN this morning and find Osi Umenyiora subbing as a co-host -- that's right, co-host, not guest -- on 'Mike and Mike in the Morning.' In the little that I heard, Osi was actually quite good. He did say one thing that got my attention. Asked about Derek Jeter's standing in New York he compared him to Michael Strahan, a winner and "very beloved." As for himself, he said "I'm Alex Rodriguez. All the talent, but no love." Really? I was surprised to hear Osi express that sentiment. Do we not love No. 72? Is he really A-Rod, forever second in our hearts no matter what he does on the field?
  4. Mitchel was a great signing at the price last year. He played hard, made a nice contribution to the D and I am happy that he was able to get the contract he got away. We would have made a mistake to pay up to keep him though. We run a LB friendly scheme and it has to be great to play behind our d-line. I think we will be fine with the young guys we have. also remember that we got Diehl and Tuck taken care of for 6 and 5 years respectively. both of those players are way more important. Reese has been impresive so far.
  5. I have to say I am pretty fond of both but I would go with Simms. Then again I am a huge Simms fan so that might not count. As a couple of others have said he was definately a tough guy. How many times did we see him step into a tackle and deliver a strike up the seam. FWIW the guys at football reference have been having an ongoing discussion about various qb ranking methods. The latest list is top 75 for the era 1967 - 2006 and measures regular and post seeson numbers. Kind of interesting in a stats sort of way. Phil Simms went to 54th from 60th on this list when the post season numbers where added to regular season numbers. Here is a link
  6. there selling 20 games anyway. I have to buy the pre season games whether I want them or not. given that why not make one more of them count?
  7. naw just come to our tail gate or someone elses on the board. I always look out for sportswrath guys if they want to stop by. Not the craziest tailgate out there but we always have plenty to eat and drink and we are right in the middle of the crowd. it just takes a certain commitment to get it set up. like I said I find to get a good spot one needs to be at least 4 - 4 1/2 hours early for the game. Not all the guys that go with us show up then though. They leave that early wake up shit to me
  8. if the price is right fine but they better get a lot for him. The guy gives D Coords fits even if he does look like he has borrowed Howard Cross's hands sometime. Also remember that the guy has developed into being a very good blocker as well
  9. Vg take the amtrak up to the city and make a weekend out of it. The bus ride out there is cheap, parking on the other hand is a circus. I usually get to 1:00 games around 8:45 so I can get a reasonably good spot to tail gate. you can always sleep in and then drink with us if you are stuck. I have met Tree, Echo, c wagon nad Bonji out there at 1 time or another and it has worked out the biggest downer about the new stadium is going to be the seat licenses. I head they are going to wack us like 10k / seat to retain ticket rights at the new stadium
  10. I have both and have to dissagree with you. Blu Ray is way better IMO. That is neither here nor there though. I will buy it either way but I can't find anything but the season recap.
  11. yea well that kind of stuff is rampant up there in Boston. I am sure he cleaned up his act when he got away from the freaks in that clubhouse
  12. the last time the skins picked a good wr in the draft was Art Monk in 1980. I guess yu can say that McCardel was ok but he didn't do shit for the skins. manningham will be better than both wr and the te they picked but may not be great himself. small and slow is a bad combo
  13. i like the safety out of miami. I hope they stay away from wr
  14. no big surprises out of Dallas anyway. They got some decent players but nobody who has that WOW factor.
  15. meh. to each his own. A Baseball game in April is less important to me than the draft. If the Rangers where playing maybe I could see your point on hockey but a 4 - 0 game between the avs and the dead wings doesn't really excite me. Are you a former fan of the nordique??
  16. I hear you but they gave up a lot of picks for a tackle outside a lot of peoples top 5. Would not have cared if it had not been philly getting all the pix
  17. i am sure the gints recieved offers. they had to get real value for him though. no reason to force a trade
  18. I can't believe that shit with Carolina. If they have to be idiots down there can they at least give away the store to someone othe than an nfc east opponent. A 2nd, 4th and next years 1st for Otah. i want to puke
  19. agreed. u would have to get an established player plus a third rd pk or 2 2nds to even consider doing the deal.
  20. It will be interesting to watch the next few seasons. Eli is what 27???? Seems ike he should be entering his prime 4 or 5 years right now. With a ring and an MVP trophy he should have the confidence to excel. He has all ready proven that he has the tools. If he becomes a tad more consistent we should be very competitive for some time.
  21. I don't think it is realistic to expect Boss to put up Shockey lik numbers when he plays. Shockey is a good player and a real asset to the O because he must be accounted for on every play or he will kill you. That having been said, the one problem I have with Shockey is durability. I know he has only missed 4 games in the last 3 seasons but I am talking about durability not toughness. Shockey plays hurt when a lot of guys would sit but he is not 100% when he is doing it. If the Gianst get the right deal I could see them moving him but it would take a lot in my mind to make it worthwhile. We would have to get a legitimate starter at either cb or safety that is considered to be at least in the top 15 at his position. We would have to get at least 2 draft picks outright or a swap of firsts and a 3rd. Not sure anyone is going to jump at that kind of deal though.
