Final Giants mock

Well it's ten days away and thought I'd share what I think they'll do...

12.Zack Martin OT/OG Notre Dame

Perfect fit for what McAdoo is going to do. Still a major question mark for the Giants

NFL Comparision:Logan Mankins

43.Allen Robinson WR Penn St.

Perfect X WR

NFL Comparision:Anquan Boldin

74.Troy Niklas TE Notre Dame

Good blocker, better game speed then timed speed and has good soft hands. Could turn into great red zone target

NFL Comparision:Kyle Rudolph, but a better inline blocker then Rudoplh was coming out of ND.

113. Ed Reynolds SS Stanford

Perfect for the cover 3. Father played for the Giants

NFL Comparision: Harrison Smith

152.Bryan Stork

Another good fit for McAdoo's offense. Experience in the ZBS.

174.Jay Bromley DT Syracuse

Will have time to learn behind Jenkins and provide rotational depth

187.Aaron Lynch DE USF

Talent that falls due to character concerns. If the Giants can get him to play this would be a huge steal.

I'd be happy with Zack Martin and Allen Robinson with the first 2 picks. I don't think Troy Niklas will still be available in the third round. If so, that'd be great.

The problem with TE's is that colleges rarely use a TE the way they are used in the NFL. Most are used strictly for an added offensive lineman and once in a great while, they'll try to throw the defense off by actually throwing at him. It's really hard to determine how a TE will translate to an NFL player because of the way they were used in college.

I have an erection thinking about getting both Zack Martin and Weston Richburg in the first and second. I think it's possible that Marcus Martin might be available in the third who some actually rank higher than Richburg for a center. To me...any combination of OT, WR/TE, C/OG in the first three rounds would thrill me. If Evans is still on the board when the Giants pick 12th, I suspect they will not be able to pass up the opportunity and then will have to scramble for the 4th or 5th best OT left on the board in the second round like Cyrus Kouandjio or Morgan Moses....which would be okay with me if Evans was already on our team.

Regardless...I like your picks. I don't dare speculate beyond 3 rounds because so many teams do just the opposite of what they are expected to do according to "the experts". All I know...is that I can't fucking wait!!!

Whole seven rounds. Explains better how guys got to the Giants

I clicked your link and find it closest to what some of the "experts" are saying on TV. Interesting that they have Khalil Mack going number one overall since every other mock has Clowney going first. IMO, I'd take Mack over Clowney. I've spent a lot of time watching NFL Network and listening for weeks now as analysts discuss players in the draft. The comment I've heard time and time again, is the Khalil Mack reminds them of a young Lawrence Taylor.....and most of these guys were around when LT was drafted in 1981. That is one huge comparison. After all, Taylor is named by former players, coaches, media members, and news outlets such as the NFL Network, and Sporting News. as "The Greatest Defensive Player to Ever to Play in the NFL".

I don't know how anyone could possibly duplicate Taylor's play, but many of the experts say watching Mack play is so similar to Taylor's style that it's uncanny. Both are 6'3", same weight, same mean streak.

I also notice that Mike Mayock (far better analyst than Kiper ever thought of being) says that he'd definitely take Mack with the no. 1 pick in the draft.

Funny thing...I almost started a thread on it to see who would be surprised if Mack came off the board first since everybody and their neighbor thinks Clowney is the way to go....which he very well could go first....but personally, I'd take Mack over Clowney.

Mack is a MAC product. I don't see the Lawrence Taylor comparison.

Nobodies LT, but Mack's best game last year came against mighty Ohio St. Competition isn't an issue. The 1st pick in last year's draft was from the MAC.

I don't think the Giants get out of this draft without at least to OLs.... no way. And if Yankey is available in the 2nd, he maybe that guy.

Very possible, although I was hesitant to draft beyond one in the 1st round, since we've signed four lineman this offseason, and expect Snee back from injury. Really, in my mock draft, after round 4 I kinda stop caring as much since these guys have like a 5% chance of making it in the NFL for more than 3 years.

Yankey will be there in the 4th and he doesn't fit our new offense.

1. Odell Beckham Jr. I'm just starting to think we will be surprised here. Him or Ebron

2.Xavier Su'a-Filo

3. DaQuan Jones

4. Jeremy Hill

5. Ahmad Dixon

5. Matt Patchan

6. Ricky Havili-Heimuli

I'm not counting on Snee for much, if anything. Love the guy, he's been a great Giant but his body just started breaking down on him and he had lost a good deal by the time he had to come out of the line up. And of the free agent OL's we signed, some have to be considered "hope to catch lightning in a bottle" type of signings. They might work out or they might not make the team. Add to that the ongoing question mark that is Will Beatty and I'm seeing the OL as more half empty than half full.

I thought he was a late 1st early 2nd. And why do you say he doesn't fit our offense?

We're going to a zone blocking scheme under McAdoo. Yankey had poor workouts and is very limited athletically. The guys we signed in the offseason all experienced in the ZBS, Walton(Denver) Schwartz(Oregon and Carolina) Brown(New Orleans)

1. OT, Lewan/Martin - I don't really care which at this point.

2. WR, Donte Moncrief - I've liked this guy since he was originally a 5th round projection

3. OG, David Yankey - I love the fact he's falling a bit, allowing us to get him in the 3rd.

4. TE, CJ Fiedorowicz - We need a guy, this is a guy that's come recommended here on Sportswrath. I'll trust you people this time.

5. RB, James White - With Jennings, Wilson, getting a guy into the fold for some insurance wouldn't be a bad thing.

5. OLB/SS, Kevin Pierre-Louis - Like the size/speed combo at this point in the draft.

6. DE, Aaron Lynch - Lack of desire is beyond concerning, but the talent that's there just needs to be tapped by the coaching staff.
