Who actually believed McNabb could tie it up....

look a little closer and the dog is sure you would see that those were the only years he started all 16 games...and of the seasons he did not, he had multiple years of 18 or 19 tds...his td-int ratio far exceeds mannings...

This is true.... FOR NOW... If Eli continues his TD-INT Ratio from 2008 I will be more than pleased. His play from the 2007 playoffs up until now gives me faith

so bad weather only relates to the wind? the dog would argue that in strong winds, it is better to run a power game than to throw at all...but, if you would rather throw first in high winds, well then, you go for it...

wind is the biggest game changer. i can't believe you don't know this. and yes, i would rather throw against 9 in the box on a windy day if i can throw short passes. have you watched a game in this century?

well, the dog for one sure admires your ability to point out the obvious - yes, in the event that a team is putting 9 in the box, then regardless of the weather, one would be inclined to make an attempt to pass the ball...but, dear limited man, as per the original point, a team that is a power run team is better suited for poor weather (the dog defines as weather that may or may not include rain, snow, sleet, wind...) than a team that throws the ball 60% of the time...now the dog will sit back and await your silly attempt to back peddle and twist this into your favor...WOW!!

as does McNabb's superbowl wins...oh wait...my bad, he doesn't have any, but he did throw up on a final drive

oh please - you feel free to question the dog's knowledge and ask if the dog has watched a game this century, and that is OK? well, if you are going to allow it, then the dog will summerize: there is no such thing as a "bad weather" team. The eagles are a pass first team that lack a power run game, meaning that in bad weather, their system is more challenging to be consistently successful with, and the dog has watched enough football to understand this concept...if you want to argue that a pass first team is "built" to handle bad weather, and more specifcally, high winds, well then, go fight the losing battle...

Someone might be a Philly fan? Hmmm......................

LEts not get carried away. It doesnt FAR exceed. And you gotta take into consideration that Eli was able to stay healthy and not miss games like Donovan McNutts. OOps, Im sorry, was that mean? :P

The dog thinks the numbers support this(that whole fact vs. emotional opinion thing)...mcnabb has 194 cereer TDs vs 90 picks...Manning has 98 career tds vs. 74 picks (in twice as many seasons, Mcnabb has only thrown 16 more picks than manning). to compare their first five seasons, mcnabb started 80 games and threw 87 tds vs 49 picks, where as manning started 73 games and threw 98 tds vs 74 picks...that is 11 more tds, and 25 more picks. pretty significant.

your point about mcnabb's health is well taken. he hasn't been stable health wise, and manning has demonstrated that physical tughness. the dog would like to see how many additional hits mcnabb has taken that had lead to that though, as his style is much different...

All that says is McNabb doesnt throw the ball as much as Eli. The results were far more TD's for Eli and with that, comes more picks. Esp. when you're a younger QB. If Donovan would have had any kind of rec. corps, his 1st 5 yrs #'s may be different. And as far as the "how many hits has McNabb taken", it cant be anywhere near the beating Eli took his first year, not to mention the 1st few years.

facts facts facts...in the first five years of there careers, manning averaged 31.2 attempts a game, where as mcnabb averaged 27.2 attempts a game (a whopping difference of 4 attempts a game)...11 more tds is hard to say "far" more for manning, but 25 picks is easily argued...and since the dog is looking at the first five years of each career, it would be reasonable to argue that mcnabb was just as young as eli, unless the dog is mistaken and manning was drafted out of ms, which in that case, he is a child prodigy...it would certainly explain the pouty behaviors...

Throw the stats out the window. In a big playoff game, on the road, in the wind, with no running game to speak of, McNabb put his team on his back and beat the defending Superbowl Champions in their own backyard for the second time in a row. He can't do it every week. No QB can.

Eli the bus driver, with the benefit of a running game, wilted. He wilted under the pressure. Had he just connected on one of two passes to Smith (one with the wind, and one against the wind) they probably win the game.

He couldn't even run a QB sneak! Think about that!

Eli has never put the team on his back and carried them in the playoffs. Had a no-name WR not trapped a frantic throw against his head, and had Samuels just caught a ball that was in his hands (one of Eli's better throws by the way) we would be talking about whether the Giants should draft a QB this year.

Funny you, of all people, should bring up a QB wilting under pressure. Eli has already gotten that monkey off his back, what has your QB done in that respect. :o

the dog thinks someone in the giants organziation better extend the courtesy to manning and let him know the monkey may have jumped back on, and this time he is carrying with him a contract extension with a boatload of money and higher expectations. the dog just hopes for giant fan's sake, the monkey doesn't have gas, because if he starts breaking wind on a regular basis, lord knows that could wreak havoc with manning's passing game...

He didn't have a postseason breakdown of 6 touchdowns and 1 interception?

He didn't pick apart Green Bay's secondary in Lambeau?

He didn't lead a 46 second TD drive against your beloved Cowboys before halftime?

He didn't convert a 3rd and 10 to Steve Smith with under a minute to go in the superbowl following the "magical play" you try to belittle?

Just curious.... You love talking about the Tyree play and try to downplay it or use it to call Eli lucky or whatever the hell you do... But that was 35 yards of an 80 yard touchdown drive with less than 2 minutes to go in the superbowl. What about the other 45 yards of that drive? Eli didn't do shit on that either right? Keep talking your shit - we have all seen how well Romo plays in the big games
