Lubeck
Do they go for a QB or a WR? Tebow said he's making himself eligible, you think Detroit takes him? Tebow is not a first round QB by the NFL book. And there is no way the Lions are trading their only legit NFL player. If the Lions could do it they would drop 52 players and start over with CJ

Clarence the Blue Puppet
Maybe work on building up the defense. They can score points, they just have a hard time stopping people.
Lubeck
Maybe work on building up the defense. They can score points, they just have a hard time stopping people. Defense has to be their focus. Johnson on his own being triple teamed gets them points.

fringe
best thing for them to do is stockpile as many draft picks as they can to build their core (OL and DL). lots of those types in the draft this year. maybe we can trade them 2 picks for Calvin. It is going to take way more than 2 picks to get Calvin. Rebuilding is the obvious move Detroit needs to do but if they are going to rebuild they need to rebuild around something and Calvin is the kind of marque player you rebuild around. BlueInCanada
hey, they won games when he was around. Since Millen became the Lions GM in 2001, they have posted a league worst 31-84 record. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/61081-b...done-in-detroit Guess...its better then nothing. Allstarjim
The chances of Detroit trading Calvin Johnson is ZERO. If they did do that, they would lose half of their season ticket holders the next day (and there will probably not be that many to begin with, after an 0-16 season). The Lions need a lot of help. I actually feel badly for their fans. They have suffered a very long time with just terrible teams. If Sam Bradford declares for the NFL, they should take him number 1. If not, then they should trade down a couple of spots and take Stafford from Georgia. I don't know a lot about him, but scouts think he's franchise quarterback material. But Bradford is a no-doubter franchise QB. His excellence at the QB position cannot be overstated. To me, they need a franchise QB more than anything else. Kitna is not the answer nor will he ever be. The rest of the draft they need to work on their defense, and hopefully grab an O-lineman. Their next highest priority after QB should be a stud DE. In the end, they have way too many holes to fill to be able to address them in the draft. They will have to also be big players in the free agency market and even still, even if they draft well and pick up a couple of impact free agents, it is a very long shot that they will be a good team in 2009.
