  1. Everything I read says he is solid in both pass and run blocking and as a G, I don't see him going against many DEs....I haven't seen much on him as far as pulling or athleticism. But given our G situation, if he can keep a DT off whomever the QB is gonna be for 3 or 4 seconds or keep a run lane open long enough so we can get 3 or 4 yards a carry...it would be an incredible improvement
  2. King is one I have had my eye on in drafts so far. Cooper Beebe, G, in the 2nd is another one.
  3. Jones was also Eli the 2nd when it came to demeanor. That was as much a component of his being drafted as anything I believe.
  4. You gotta wonder if McCarthy is there at 6, would the Steelers trade up that far given he could sit behind Russ and Fields... or do they see Fields as their QB of future?
  5. If your scouting department is worth a damn, yeah. But if your scouts get a hard on for a Duke QB, we all know what happens
  6. I am on record...McCarthy is not a guy I want to see in blue. If 3 QBs go in top 5, take one of the WRs and trade back into late first for Penix if you can. I do like Legett though of you don't get a WR in the 1st...but I see him top 3rd rd in places...early 2nd might be too early for him
  7. And I really hope Minnesota jumps to 4 or 5 and takes McCarthy out of the equation for us.
  8. To think...you can be good at what you do and still be a dick. Groundbreaking revelation there...
  9. Not just a 6th....but a 6th NEXT year
  10. So Fields and Wilson in Pittsburgh now...Fields for a 2025 6th...seems cheap for former 1st rounder
  11. I am in the camp of getting one of the top 3 QBs if you can do so without having to pay an extreme premium to do so. But I just don't see those top 3 teams seperating from those picks without a 2nd this year and a 1st next...and maybe even then some. So if QBs go 123, I am good with Odunze or Nabors. I worry a little about Nabors given the comparisons he will get to OBJ (LSU WR to the Giants)...
  12. Didn't seems like there was much hesitation on the Steelers to grants that request either
  13. So Steelers all in on Russ I guess with Rudolph also leaving.
  14. Yep..I want no parts of McCarthy. 2nd round maybe...but he won't be there.
  15. The stat about Tiki that always impressed me was the percent of offense he represented in those years. Teams knew he was the centerpiece and he still got it done. Off the field, he seems to be a bit of an ass...even if he does have some good perspective and experience to draw upon
  16. Or we may not have a shot at the top 3 QBs so it is between Jones and Lock...or we do get one of the top 3 and it's an open competition given the draft pick is still a rookie after all
  17. I have to believe they just forfeit it...but if the league views the play as under contract at that point...maybe the Giants should get it. I really don't know.
  18. Because given the moment a decision needed to be made, with the info and options they had at the time, you could argue it wasn't the worst decision they could've made. Offensive line...if Neal lived up to his billing, we would be in a different situation. And Schoen was far from the only one looking to draft him.
  19. I think both he and Dabs are gonna get a pass until Jones is gone. The contract Jones got was a mistake. Drafting him where we did was a mistake. But both times, Giants got screwed by circumstance and timing. Jones showing just enough to make you think he is taking a step, playoff win, less than stellar options for another QB...and so on.
  20. Yeah...if he misses 6 games...even if he recovers...you gotta make him your #2. Kinda a dick move to screw him out of millions at that point, but if he ain't part of the future, which he absolutely wouldn't be at that point...you gotta look out for team first. But he can play that game too...faking an injury in practice.
  21. It's gonna take a lot to break into top 3 given they all need QBs...
  22. None for Hodgins
  23. Barkley gets a bad rap for going to division rival. Also, if he just posted a BS message like McKinney did, he likely wouldn't get as much backlash. Instead, he engages with talking head, Barber. Would it have been too hard to say, regardless of how true, "I understand this move will be tough for the die hard fans of Big Blue to accept. That said, I frankly was not offered a contract this offseason, 2 years of negotiations to lengthen my Giants tenure haven't proven fruitful, and this opportunity is beneficial both financially and gives me a chance to play on a team closer to playoff calibur than the Giants are right now. I have nothing but respect for NY and its fans. I will miss my teammates and hope they find success. I will always have a special place in my heart for the Giants given that's where I started my NFL career. Thanks NY!"
  24. I would push DL depth up in that list...last time someone said "you can never have enough pass rushers" it worked out pretty well for us. The cat out of Penn State in the 2nd wouldn't be a bad grab if we went QB in first. Tho Rome is a tough one to pass on if avail
