In 3 years we’ll be sitting around looking at this draft wondering my we didn’t draft Penix. By that time he will have established himself as the best qb in the draft and one of the best in the league and the titans or Vikings are going to look like a genius.

This is a sad day. Genuinely my favorite giant on the roster the last several years, and just a guy I always thought would be a giant.

Makes Shoen look real bad and desperate, and by the way it seems the Giants are desperately trying to announce to the world that they want to replace Jones this year either in the draft or FA, makes him look even worse. On the other hand, the Jones deal could very well have broken the market for guys like him and Baker - like a cautionary tale type of thing. Say Jones goes off last year, Baker probablygets a bigger deal.

If that happens, I'm a happy guy. I would be a happy guy with Penix at 6. I genuinely believe he is the best QB in the draft.

He’ll shoot up after the combine. Maybe work back into the top ten and we can grab him

Or we can draft best OL available at 6 and draft Penix in the 2nd, or trade back into the first for him.

Plus looking ahead at 2025 QBs, not sure it is going to be a good class.

Half the league could be justified in drafting a qb in the first rd. He may drop out of the 1st round, but I highly doubt that happens. I doubt he drops past 15, but you telling me arguably the best qb in the draft from a talent perspective is sitting there at 26 the Bucs will pass? Broncos and Raiders sitting there in the top 15, he doesn't get past both of them.

You were ok with how he threw the tablet in frustration At jones? i get the stereotype of a hot blooded emotional firecracker coach exists. But I think I’m most viewers opinion Daboll goes too far too often. coaches that do that, that often, usually have a track record of success that buys them some rope, or they have short coaching careers next year will be the defining year. His antics with 2023 results would probably be the end.

No secret that Daboll can’t control his emotions and way too often publicly goes at players in the sideline.

My heart wants Saquon to stay. My mind understands there is a financial side that will probably prevent that. And I would also like to see him behind a line and on a competent offense that would be able to properly exploit his talents. And that won’t be the giants for a while

I’m still in on Penix. You can’t put last night on him. There was such a vast gap of talent levels between those two teams. Particularly up front.

I don't how successful they would be, but it sure would be fun if Wink were the HC of the Giants. Have to think this moves the Giants away from drafting a QB, imagine Daboll is feeling the hot seat building and probably doesn't want to go into next season with a rookie and wants to give Jones ebvery lastn opportunity.

Most guys don’t resign, they announce they are open to interviewing for HC positions, if they announce anything. Wink just said I don’t know where I’ll be coaching next year, but I know where it won’t be. And it does look real bad for Daboll and you have to wonder how he can’t get along with a guy with a good reputation, god success record, appears to be well liked.
