  1. Thank you Money, too many here have allowed their blind hatred/racism to cloud the facts. And yet where did our defense start to give up game winning drives on the ground???? To which team??? Minnesota, after Joseph got hurt.... previous to that nobody ran on us in the last 1/2 of the game. Certianly not Washington & the ever-so-great Clinton Portis when Joseph was in the lineup.... we held them to under 30 yards rushing for the game!!! Not that your comments are that far left of the truth, losing Pierce (& the rest of our starting linebacking corps) during the streach run did hurt, you cannot discount what affect losing William Joseph had to our defense in the second half of this season. The numbers (unlike certian individuals in this forum) tell the truth, as Money has clearly shown losing William Joseph to injury clearly hurt our defense.
  2. 3'rd period, Ruccin from Pock & Ruchinsky. Canes 2 - Rangers 1
  3. Kirby Puckett, 44, dies day after suffering stroke RIP.
  4. Just a thought but how much different is the "improved WR corps" from when Kerry left?? The recievers that you repeatedly bash are that much better just because Collins is back there?? How is that if to quote your repeated posts, "they give up on plays, make no effort to catch the ball & drop easy passes left & right", so exactly how is this "improved" reciever corps better with Collins under center?? There is only 1 different player amongst our recieveing corps since Kerry left (Burress) and you repeatedly flame him for being a "quitter" so how exactly is this group "improved" since Collins left?? You also forget that Kerry threw off his back foot so much that it made his passes very interceptable (is that even a word??) , he never went through his progressions, locking onto one reciever & never looking off. Collins also forced the ball in between 2 defenders to hit Toomer when there were several other options available if he had gone through the targets available.... not to mention what would happen if he was flushed from the pocket, did you fail to remember that he had a fumbling problem? In the end the situation doesn't change much even if Collins were to come back to NY (which he won't) & get the chance to start (beit he or any other QB, they won't unless Eli gets hurt, which at this point as sad as you are you would probably wish injury on him), the problems with the offense won't go away they will just show themselves under a different face. Whereas with Eli there wasn't a propensity to fumble with Collins there is, with Eli & Kerry both you have the interception issue, while Kerry stands in the pocket & gets clobbered at least Eli has the atheletic ability to move (not Vick like but he's no Collins AKA a garbage truck with 4 flat tires).... in the end it's a pretty even trade, not much change would come from switching QB's.
  5. Well played, I've got to admit if the Isles brought that kind of hard work to every game they wouldn't be in the mess that they are. From all Rangers fans, thanks for denying the Devils the extra point. Oh yes & bleed: Yes, they did stink for almost the entire last decade, I never denied that. But let me ask you a question, if they stunk that bad does it really matter how much money is spent??? They could have been the worst team in hockey & not spent a dime in which case they would have been criticized for not trying to help themselves... so exactly how much sense does that make?? The Rangers management certianly figured out how to get the best product on the ice after a hard salary cap was instituted, yes, they certianly did need a house cleaning in order to clean out the "dead wood" that could be attributed to the Dolan mistakes of just throwing money at the problem (see the Knicks). Much of this I have to attribute to the new head coach, just like the Giants started to make smarter personell decisions after Coughlin became the coach... Renney got together with Sather & management and told them he'd keep the head coaching job but only if he could get his kind of guys & run things his way with no meddling from Dolan. If only the Islanders were so lucky, unfortunatley there remains a conflict in interest as Milbury as the former coach/GM is now a lame duck in office. I'm sure your response, if any, should contain at least a few references to past records in such but to ask you yet one more question, if during the past decade if the Rangers were so terrible then why is it that the Islanders never took a commanding lead in the regular season series during that time?
  6. Pray tell, what was the reason for having him out on the ice with less than 2 minutes left & down by 5 goals?? In part I blame this on the Philadelphia management & coaches, all they ever try to do is re-live the "Broad Street Bullies" days of this franchise..... to bad the closest thing that they have to that sits 90 feet above the ice in a skybox every night (Bobby Clarke). The funny thing is listening to the game on the way home was that Don Lagreca said it best, "It figures that you'd have to expect this (Philly fans cheering Brashear's useless end of game antics) from the Flyers fans when 9 out of every 10 highlights they show here at the Wachovia Center is of a fight." Nonetheless, great game by the Rangers (the Flyers defense falling apart had alot to do with it.... by the way is it just me or does it seem like the Flyers defensemen are really slow afoot, any team with decent speed seems to burn them), I really like the fact that the power play is clicking & the team seems to have not missed a step. Weekes looked good, hopefully he'll be able to give Henrik maybe 1 more game off before he has to get back in net (I think that Henrik will play against the Devils however it works out), anywho great game. Looking foward to more displays of hard work against the Devils, next time I'll be at the Garden will be against the Caps on the 16'th, til then it's on the tube.
  7. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Sad when Islanders fans have to hope another team takes down a heated rival since they can't get it done. Of course you can't..... because it isn't!! How's DiPietro doing??? Numbers that terible haven't been seen since Vince Young's Wonderlic test scores. Funny, Yashin has a proven track record of disappearing in the post season.... Eli has been there once, big-time difference. Good, it's settled..... the Islanders suck. Yes, something your Islanders aparently couldn't adapt to...... oh yes, while the Rangers are in the playoffs the Islanders will be boning up on their golf skills. Simple slogan, "Got Playoffs??? We do!" Big if concerning Robbins return & Clancy's resigning, however your repeated references to Hatians & wild animal references are disturbing.... was that how you came to be?
  8. So then your statements are false.... great, it's setttled. And yet you have the time to state things you digress from in the end..... strange. Oh great... statistics, did you want to do the math or should I? If he gets pushed around 99% of the time as you stated then the plays that he had a positive impact upon (28, which included 19 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, a fumble recovery & 3 passes defensed.) should account for the remaining 1% of his time on the field. That means he played 280 snaps in 10 games, I don't think he got on the field that much but if he did, he was more effective in the trained eyes (unlike your biased eyes) of the coaches than you think.... then again you are an amateur. What frustration do you feel??? I don't feel any, I'm not an Islanders fan.
  9. Oh yes, the Islanders produced so many great playoff performances within the last 7 years. How's that Yashin trade working out for you?? Still waiting to see anything from the #1 overall Rick DiPietro.... meanwhile the Rangers are comfortably in first in the division, who knows...... maybe in the Eastern Conference in a few weeks. When was the last time the Islanders were first in the division, the bicentennial?? Does this mean that I can equate DiPietro's performance in the Olympics to the play of Will Allen or Fred Robbins??? At least Joseph knew to show up in proper shape for camp, unlike Robbins who went to the Norman Hand school of off-season dieting. To lose your starting job because you got beaten out for it or injured is honorable, to lose it because you are a fat-ass is, much like your Islanders (& their fans who rest their collecive laurels on past achievements), pathetic.
  10. You still haven't answered the question...... what game was it that Joseph was on his hands & knees all game long??? Besides I'd rather watch Giants football (no matter how bad) than a good Islanders loss (because let's face it folks.... that's all they do is lose) any day of the week.
  11. Great, let's see if you guys can tell me what game it was that Joseph was on his hands & knees all the time.... I await your response.
  12. Islanders fans discussing sports knowledge........ I sense..... irony.
  13. I have all of this season's games burned to DVD, I didn't see any time that Joseph was pancaked or run over... he might have been turned inside by a guard or tackle but when he did play he sustained his blocks allowing the LB's to flow to the ball. With one exception, the Chargers game.... then again nobody on the defensive line held their gaps or tackled well at all that game..... I would know, I was there. And just cut the nonsense with the "Tuck Experiment", he lined up at the under tackle position a handful of times & didn't get a sack from that spot.... all of his sacks came from when he lined up outside at the traditional DE spot. At 265-270 lbs. he is way too light to play DT or NT (for the handful of times that we played the 3-4). As a matter of fact the only time one of our DE's lined up on the inside & was effective was during the 2'nd Dallas game when Osi lined up inside of Strahan who swapped sides & played LDE (they caused Pettiti to false start). Besides Floyd, weren't you bashing the Giants for selecting Tuck & Webster due to their respective previous injuries???? The world only wonders what your response will include. PS Floyd, in response to your statements in another thread you called Greisen "lost, running behind the play with arms flailing" at least a dozen times last off-season & you also sported a "Where there is a Will there is a completion." signature for 3 or 4 weeks this season, so drop it with the crap about never saying Will Allen stunk.
  14. Against the Flyers, who have to play the Devils tonight & will be without Gagne for the next few weeks.... shouldn't be a problem & I think that Weekes is up to the task.
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! An Islanders fan....... You truly are pathetic, just like your choice in hockey teams...... FISH STICKS!!!!!
  16. James Dolan has run two of the best franchises in sports into the ground since he took ownership of the Garden & the two teams that play there. The only thing that kept him from being strung up by a lynch mob in front of the Garden is the fact that Glen Sather & Tom Renney got their act together & told Dolan they would only continue in their positions if he took a more "hands off" approach & let them run the Rangers their way (Dolan's way would have been throwing rediculous amounts of money at the problem.... like the Knicks debacle). AND HE DOESN'T KNOW DICK ABOUT FOOTBALL OR SPORTS, LET ALONE BUSINESS. Just look at how much money the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU pulls in per year, BTW that's where Kate Mara attends school.
  17. Yeah, Zach Crockett did such a great job against us in that Raiders game , what was it 3 tries from inside the 2??? Does that make him a good short yardage back or a mediocre one? The double standard will always apply with any of Lockspaz's replies.
  18. Rafalski played the other night, Elias has bruised ribs.
  19. If you decide to go foward with this let me know, I'd like to be part of it.
  20. Barrett Green.... gone like the wind. S. Alexander..... re-signed W. Peterson...... can't cut the only esperienced corner on the team, besides he just signed an extension Greisen............ can't let this guy get away, unless the Giants are trading up to get A.J. Hawk (who looks like Lattimer from "The Program" they better bring back this kid. He might not be the most talented guy but he is durable & has been the best player at that positon for the last 2-3 years.
  21. Just my thoughts: Free agency: With no real premier, blue-chip offensive lineman I can't see the Giants looking to upgrade OLT long term via this route, another saftey to help out Gibril Wilson would be nice but we have to watch our wallets. Conversely there has been alot of speculation that the Giants will persue one of two linebackers in FA, Will Witherspoon all Giants fans got a first-hand look in the divisional round at how good he can be. Julian Peterson being the other possibility, I'm not as high on Peterson as some other people due to his torn Achilles tendon. Draft: Rd. 1 CB (Not really too sure, many choices & alot of question marks.... i.e. past injuries, slow speed, not-so-great cover skills.) Rd. 2 OLB (Possibly Bobby Carpenter of OSU) Rd. 3 OT (Here is where the Giants need to not have a "Jeff Hatch" type pick, whomever they select in this draft at OT will most likely be groomed to replace Pettigout down the road.) Rd. 4 WR or LB (With an entire evening to look over their board & re-evaluate where they are & who is still available the Giants have to take the best player available at this point regardless of position, just my guess but I think it will either be a reliabe slot reciever or a LB as a backup for Pierce, let's also not forget that we haven't had the linebacker corps to run Lewis's favorite schemes from the 3-4, if we select a LB here he should be able to play the middle.) Rd. 5 P (God I wish Jeff Feagles comes back for one more year, if not here is where we get his replacement.... hopefully no "Jonathan Markham" syndrome will befall our draft room crew at this point.) Rd. 6 CB/KR (Although I like what Chad Morton has done I still think that taking Willie Ponder off the KO return team hurt us down the streach.) Rd. 7 SS (For depth if we sign another saftey during FA.)
