I don't see how this topic is any different than the number of 'serious advice desperately needed' threads in GD in terms of stupidity, and no one says anything about those. So because those kinds of threads are made mostly by 'people we know', they get a 'pass', and because this one is made by someone people seem not to like, it's ok to gang up on it? The way I see it, we're a small enough community here where we can individually choose not to reply, instead of replying and giving the poster exactly what he intended to achieve.

Enough of these shenanigans. The Giants will not sign either Boldin or 85. They will see the shenanigans of these 2 and avoid them like the plague. Players who shenanigate like these 2 won't make it into the classy locker room that is the NY Giants. The Giants will sign some fine rookies, and risk whether they perform shenanigans like a diva WR. I guess what I was trying to say was: The plus for Carr: If he had to come in and play, at least it would be behind a decent Oline, instead of a shitty Oline where he'd get beat to crap. The plus for the Giants: They have a backup QB who, behind a decent line, is capable of at least managing, if not winning, a game. Win-win. I see your point though, if Carr is indeed shell shocked, why would we want him to backup Eli. There was another thread on Carr and a few other signings/droppings where he said how happy he was to work with the defense, and how the coaches were happy with the work he was doing. I guess if I had to cop out, $2 mil would probably heal my ego.

While I'm sure Miami hired Parcells with the full intention of him fulfilling his contract, it was they who changed the contract 3 weeks prior to the final sale, not Parcells. The new owner didn't contest it, meaning he knows what could happen. Nowhere in that article does it say Parcells is exercising the clause, just that he has the option. He's already said he's committed to the Dolphins through '09. I don't see how this makes him a weasel. Although, I think if he feels the 'Phins are set for '09, say after free agency and the draft, he would be more inclined to exercise that clause than if it wasn't there for him to use. I'd be willing to bet that if any of us had that kind of clause in our work situation, and we knew the company was set without us, we'd exercise the clause as well. Some of us anyway.
