  1. Sorry for leaving out Tye Hill. Completely slipped my mind but I agree that he could definitely slip to us. Another player that I should have added was Lawson. Are there any tackles that are 1st round considerations other than Watson at 25? Interesting that almost everyone would who voted for LB would take Carp over Greenway or Ryans. I thought it would be closer than that, especially given Carpenter's injury.
  2. It has to be thought, right? I mean that's really our only position in which we need to add a quality body. Although that doesn't necessarily mean addressing it in the first round. As long as we target a guy and make sure we get him, Ill be happy.
  3. Can we add Antonio Cromartie to that list? The guy has started in 1 game -- college or pro. How about Siniorice Moss who has like 6 career TD's but has a big bro who is way better than him. Glad to see Bing and Harris made the list -- 2 guys that I want to stay away from (unless they drop to the third or fourth round).
  4. That makes no sense whatsoever. The majority of his contract comes in the form of incentives meaning he will have incentive to work out, have incentive to listen to coaches, have incentive to make plays etc... He is not satisfied w/ the base salary since he can make 49 million dollars.
  5. Actually you guys are wrong... again. He's currently in DC but is coming to Giants Stadium tomorrow to begin working out w/ the team. " The Giants' new weakside linebacker, who signed a seven-year deal on Saturday -- with a $5.25 million signing bonus -- is expected to arrive in the area tonight or early tomorrow to begin workouts with his new teammates, his agent, Kevin Poston, said yesterday."
  6. You may have forgotten but we have a player named William Joseph who started for us last year and actually performed quite well. He will be back in the starting lineup which means that we have one starter and are looking for another.
  7. Floyd, you actually have a point here. But you present it in such a horrible way that nobody can take it seriously or consider it. After two phenomenal off season, ripping on the FO just because they didnt do what you want (thank god), will not get people to listen to you. Instead, you can make the same point like this: Even though we signed a marquee FA LB, I think that we are NOT finished addressing our defensive needs. As everyone knows, our LB's are injury prone and we need at least one more quality backer, if not two. Despite the signing of numerous FA's to our secondary, I think that we are still weak back there. And obvously we have a glaring need at DT. I think that the ideas of using our valuable draft picks on offensive players is misguided. I we would be making a mistake if we didnt use our first 3 or 4 draft picks on the defensive side of the ball. IMO, we still need to add 2 LB's, DT and a CB in this draft. Defense needs to be the priority, not offense!! See?? Was that so hard? It's exactly what you're trying to say but without the crap about various players you dislike or your unreasonable frustration with the front office. Please drop the act so that we can actually discuss these in a mature, rational manner. Thanks.
  8. For those of you still considering trading up to get Ngata or Bunkley here's the NFL Trade Chart: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/6330687 I think if we wanted to make sure we were going to get one of them, we would have to trade up to the 11th spot. That means giving up our first, second and third. IMO, that is WAY too big of gamble and not even a consideration. Trading down on the other hand....

    Draft

I think that the strength of this draft is in its depth, especially in rounds 2 and 3. Since our only big need is at DT and it seems as if there aren't any DT's that would be good value at 25, I think we should seriously consider trading down. DT's seem to have the best value in the third so I think that would be a good opportunity to draft one. Trading from 25 to the middle of the first should give us an extra third rounder. Here's a mock draft including the trade" Round 2a: Jon Alston - I still think we need 1 more LB. We don't have a backup to Arrington. Alston is one of the most athletic people in the entire draft and should be able to play all LB positions. Round 2b: Cedric Griffin - Physical and talented back. Normally he'd be ranked much higher but the league has been shifting towards smaller, quicker CB's. Our defense is pretty sick but our secondary is still a little questionable. I think he's arguably the most pro-ready CB in the draft and would be a great addition. Round 3a: Dusty Dvoacek - Smart, physical DT. Everything we're looking for. Dropped due to some off-field problemes but seems to have put those behind him. I think he might be able to start against the Colts. Round 3b: Best WR available. This is just an example (although I would love to see all these guys on our team) but the point is that dropping to the middle of the second round gives us an extra pick. A very valuable pick. It gives us extra flexibility and allows us to address all or our depth concerns in this draft.
  10. Cromartie - Wont be available when we pick. Addai - Not good use of round 2. Id much rather see us draft a LB, CB, DT, WR with this pick. Dusty - Love this guy. Would even take him in round 2. Arosh - Great WR prospect. Solid 4th round selection. The others, I dont know enough about to comment off the top of my head. I like rounds 3/4 but not round 2. Who do you like in round 1 other than Cromartie?
  11. It's either first or not at all. No chance hes around in the second.
  12. Me too. Id like to then take a DT: Wroten (contingent on that drug test), McCargo, Wright, Lewis or Dvoracek. Whichever one we rate highest.
  13. I think Chad Jackson or Santonio Holmes would. Even a player like Demetrius Williams in round 2 would help.
  14. This is why the contract he signed, crafted by EA, is so brilliant. If he refuses to play within the defense, the coaches will bench him and he can't earn the big money that he wants. A little incentive to follow the schemes and listen to the coaches. Great signing.
  15. Yeah... Im not sure what it means though. I dont know what drug it was. I read somewhere that it was steroids but don't know if that was a joke or not. Could have been herb, but I doubt it. Steroids is more like it since I guarantee that Wroten isnt the only player smoking pot (but maybe just the one dumb enough to get caught). Steroids would be terrible news for his draft day aspirations.
  16. If you're just looking for speed, take Devin Hester in the third. If you want a great RECEIVER trade up for Jackson. I think we address this somewhere in rounds 2-4.
  17. I wont be pissed if we draft a LB on draft day. I think there's a great chance that ryans/carp/greenway will be BPA when its our turn to pick and any of those guys would provide some youth and depth to our LB's.
  18. Im a fan of the swing for the fences mentality with this draft. If that means trading up or going w/ a risky pick like Watson... Im all for it. Our defensive front is one DT away from being unstoppable. Watson just might be the right fit.
  19. Goliath, you've gotta let it go. Cromartie's gonna be long gone by the time we pick. Watson is talented, he just doesnt apply himself... big difference.
  20. interesting.... nobody's voted for DT yet.
