I keep seeing this guy get mocked to us in the second or third and I just don't get it. Apparently he had a great pro day but... what am I missing here? Looks hesitant and indecisive, he comes in unblocked on all of his sacks, his picks are either tipped or thrown directly to him, and he doesn't deliver a stick once he gets to the ball carrier.
If we're going to draft a guy late I like Larry Rountree or Pooka Williams Jr. a little better. Even though this guy is slow, he's got enough wiggle to his run to make guys miss, and he seldom ever lets himself get hit head-on which makes him an even more powerful runner.
No, he's not going to rip off a 60 yard TD, but he will get you 10-15 yards by making the linebackers and safeties miss before somebody takes him down from behind.
I'd take Waddle, Parsons, or Slater with the 11th pick. I think Surtain is worth it in that spot too but our DBs are stacked right now.
Of course, if Pitts, Sewell, Chase, etc. slide you obviously take one of those guys.
We're one Golladay injury away from the 2020 Giants receiving corps, and he missed 11 games last year.
We need to find out if Daniel Jones is our QB going forward, but we won't ever find out if Darius Slayton is our #1 wideout.
Yeah I can see taking Lance if he's going to learn behind an Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, etc. for a few years, then you bring him in year 3 or so.
You KNOW Washington will have this guy in the lineup by week 8, and who is he learning behind... Ryan Fitzpatrick?
Uh... no it fucking shouldn't.
Please WTF, give up your entire draft and future picks to take a guy who played football for one year against B- competition.
Holy fuck, sports writers are dumb.
Yeah it's really weird. Dude was productive when given the chance and there's no doubt he runs hard, but somehow he found himself in the doghouse of 3 different coaching staffs.
I had read in a few places and the Giants podcast guys confirmed... Sewell is sliding on draft boards. If that fucking guy is there I think you have to take him if Pitts and Chase are gone.
1. Kyle Pitts will be available at 11, and we're taking him. I was fully in the "don't take a TE in round 1" camp, but he really is a special player... dude's body control is fucking ridiculous. If he's gone, we're selecting Jaylen Waddle (I don't think Shepard will on the team with his injury history for more than 2 more seasons).
2. We go O-lineman in round 2. Best one available, but I think if Wyatt Davis is there he's the selection.
3. Joe Tryon in round 3.
4. We select another WR and RB this draft; possibly a developmental DT in round 4.
5. Season to taste. There are late-round guys I really love in this draft.
We're gonna have a really good d-backfield. Yiadom was a decent starter during the second half of the season and now he's probably going to be the 4th corner on the team.
If Zaven Collins is there in the second I think he's got a great chance to be the pick. Dude totally looks like a New England linebacker and just think what our DC could do with him.
