  1. He may just turn to br a pleasant surprise after all… like that other Isiah on the other side of the ball. has he put on some weight since that college tape?
  2. Correct and that’s what those questions were for. They reveal a person’s character and it’s not a bad thing if the person was forthcoming about his disappointment. You can tell from his body language that there was disappointment and rightfully so.
  3. I get your point but the questions, I feel, were not out of line.
  4. I don’t have any issues with the questions. I think his candor and professionalism were outstanding.
  5. My profession encompasses finance, accounting, technology, and human capital. One of the things that irk me is titles (i.e Chief Financial Officer) and people acting like we’re all the same… we’re NOT. You can replace the title but you can never replace the function. Barkley is far more than a running back and everyone knows it. Pay your contributors. THAT is the hallmark of a successful organization.
  6. Is it bad I don’t a clue who this Williams guy is?
  7. Nothing goofy about him. A great person and a star athlete to boot.
  8. Makes you wonder how many kids would want to play the position. I’m also beating a dead horse when I say the market is dead wrong on the value of running backs.

Is Evan Ingram a better player than Saquon Barkley? That’s the $13M question. Giving Barkley a 3 year contract isn’t really “long term”. Three years fly by and the still has at least 4 years of great football left. I can also add that he’s a great blocker and receiver.
  10. Yes we do. I trust Saquon gets his pay day next year.

I disagree. In any business, you need to pay your performers and send a clear message that if you work hard, you will get paid. He's far more than a running back and is a fan favorite for more than one reason. On what planet can Evan Ingram make more money than Saquon? I think the fact that RBs have a shorter shelf life than any other football player out there is a great reason to pay them more. The league can go pass happy all they want, I want the run to stay our focal point of attack. I want us to run the ball at will and a RB like Saquon can afford you that and more. I'm a financial professional and saving money was my forte however, there are times when I'm more than happy to spend because of the ROI.

Which why I don’t understand the FO’s stance… There’s a lot more to Barkley than just being a running back.

Wasn’t Barkley ties for most receptions on the team last year? The RB is far more important than what the dumb market says…. Would you rather have Barkley or that butter-hands TE Evan Ingram?

It really shouldn’t have gotten to this point anyway. I blame the FO for It. Glad we got something though.
  15. Because there's more to a player like Barkely than just yards. But like he said "it is what it is".
  16. I think it has to do with defenders being freaks... bigger.. faster stronger... so the RBs body takes a toll.
  17. I do blame the FO. This is a generational talent. It doesn't matter what the "market" says... it matters his contribution to the team.
  18. Agreed on the cap management. In this case however I don’t want the FO to get too cute.
  19. That’s not a fair assessment, Seph. Didn’t we have the worst or near the worst OL in football? Someone please pull up the Youtube clip of Barkley’s run against the Eagles where all Joe Buck could say was “Incredible.. Incredible”. Saquon catches the ball too… the list of #2 WRs making more snd fucking Evan butter hands Ingram making $41M+ over 3 years makes this argument ridiculous. This is a passing league which means teams are focusing on DBs… Let them try to stop our running game. Also I never hold a player being injured as a negative…. That’s part of the game. You really expect a guy like Barkley (and even DJ) not to get hurt behind whatever OLs we’ve put in front of them?
  20. It’s fucking upsetting that Evan fucking Engram just signed a 3 year deal worth north of $41M. Please stop this nonsense about the running back market… Barkley is far more than that. I don’t care what other teams are doing… we need to take care of our own. Pay the man.
