  1. No doubt JR has tried (in previous years) to put together an OL. It just hasn't panned out. Flowers, unless he pulls it together this season, looks to be a bust. Jerry is not a starting caliber RG, unless he's surrounded by four above average lineman. Richburg is underwhelming, and Hart is nothing more than a backup himself. The only competent lineman we have in the starting lineup is Pugh, who's a B+ level guard. We have a C- level line, on average: LT Flowers - D LG Pugh - B+ Richburg - C Jerry - C- Hart - D
  2. Our tackles are magically going to figure out how to block in the next few weeks?
  3. We're going to waste away some of the best skill position players in a generation because Reese couldn't find two offensive line men
  4. Can we please bump Pugh out to LT, and put Fluker in at LG?
  5. As I posted towards the end of last year, be prepared again for this giants offense this season: Typical sequence of Giants drives 1 - Perkins dive for 2 yards. Perkins draw for -1. Pass incomplete. 3 and out. 2 - Perkins dive for 2 yards. Offensive holding. 2nd and 18. Pass to Engram or Shepard for 7 yard gain. 3rd and 11; clearly way too impossible, so give up draw to Perkins for 3 yards. 3 and out. 3 - Perkins dive for 2 yards. Next play, sack caused by Flowers not touching a player or Richburg/Hart getting bowled over. 3rd and 18; give up draw or 5 yard pass. 3 and out. 4 - False start (Flowers or Hart). 1st and 15. 10 yard pass to Marshall or Vareen. 2nd and 5, pass or run play behind the line of scrimmage for -2. 3rd and 7; pass play, offensive line doesn't block, Eli under heavy pressure throws it away. 3 and out. 5 - 11 Yard run to Perkins. 60 yard catch and TD run by Beckham. Repeat sequence, whereby the next time around, #5 is Odell not scoring, Giants near red zone threatening, Eli is under heavy pressure and as a result fumbles or throws an INT
  6. LOL...Richburg was always average at best. A C+ center at best.
  7. Should we seriously consider bumping Pugh out to LT, and either moving Flowers or Fluker to guard? And I don't understand how Bobby Hart is in the NFL.
  8. And Bob Papa and Carl Banks don't help the cause when they've lowered the standard to "Well Flowers at least got his hands on the defender that time." LOL
  9. Yeah, I agree there. I think he has a positive impact all around, but definitely more so on passing.
  10. A WR doesn't command a LB or S to cover him, potentially pulling them off the run. And I think he'll block better than we all think. Plus he'll contribute in adding a dimension to the passing game.
  11. I'll gladly at minimum take a TE that averages more than 50 catches per year and 11 yards per catch, plus that opens up the offense and stretches the defense, opening up opportunities for other guys including in the run game.
  12. At this point, given the progress on grilled cheese, one would expect he's not to far off from making Quesadilla's at this point.
  13. Hey...I'm not trying to be a trashtalker here. I'm just citing some interesting facts and trends.
  14. Stat of the day: The Giants have more Superbowl wins in the past 10 years (2) than the Eagles have playoff wins (1).
  15. What I mean is, if Perkins ends his Giants career with 8,000 all purpose yards (roughly half of Barbers rushing and receiving), I will gladly take those results.
  16. If Perkins ends up as even half of what Tiki was, that's a big win for us.
  17. That, plus grit/toughness...For instance, Ahmad Bradshaw. Wasn't the biggest back out there, but ran tough and ran big. Frank Gore also comes to mind. Fortunately, I recall reading something on Wayne Gallman calling him tough and a banger.
  18. Eli may not have the flashy regular season stats like Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Peyton, and Big Ben. However I always say this: With two minutes left, their team down by one score and with the game on the line, I'll take Eli in the clutch any day, especially in the playoffs, over any of those others.
  19. Disregard the argument over fried chicken. As I posted, the kid can make grilled cheese now, he's good. I assume he can bake some fries in the oven or toaster oven, thus his diet will be fine. Once in awhile, he can sub-in some chicken tenders instead of grilled cheese, or perhaps some mac & cheese. LOL
  20. The 40 is an over emphasized stat to look at for RBs. RBs don't have the time or space to gear up to full speed. It's more about burst and agility, along with vision and instincts for RBs. Also generally size to carry through tackes and absorb contact. Look at the top five rushers; Elliot, Murray, Bell, Howard, Ajayi, for instance.
  21. I've lowered my standards on Flowers to the point where I'll just be happy if he actually is able to simply make contact with his man when he's pass blocking. Just get at least a finger on the guy. I'm not an expert on blocking or anything, but from my understanding one of the key components is impeding the defenders progress from point A to point B by touching the defender. OR getting in the way of the defender.
  22. I want an all Alabama and Clemson team in five years.
  23. I wouldn't worry...the latest reports out indicate he's making great strides this offseason. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2017/06/giants_cb_eli_apple_proves_scouts_wrong_can_now_ma.html#incart_river_mobileshort_index
