  1. The asshole didn't even vote. What a putz
  2. The moral of the story is, please don't end up like Dave Brown, lol
  3. With Nassib, Eli wasn't nearly as close to potential retirement as he is now, and as was Simms in 92-93.
  4. Just hoping Webb doesn't turn out to be the next Dave Brown...he has almost the same setup. High draft pick who can count on sitting behind veterans for a few years.
  5. I think they believe Valentino Blake is that guy.
  6. We actually traded our 4th and 6th for him. Not a big deal, since it was only a 6th, but JR and co saw something in him to try to target him. http://www.bigblueview.com/2013-nfl-draft/2013/4/27/4274794/2013-nfl-draft-results-new-york-giants-trade-select-ryan-nassib-qb-syracuse
  7. And if I recall, we traded up for Nassib too, right?
  8. Nassib was a boob whose own coach, Doug Marrone, refused to draft him. That should have been a sign right there not to touch him. Hell, even now, no team will touch him and he remains a free agent. Another Jerry Reese guy that plays out their rookie contract on the bench or practice squad and is out of the league right after.
  9. My prediction is, at best Davis Webb ends up as Joe Flacco or Matt Schaub...competent game manager, but not elite. Or, he ends up as Brock Osweiler or David Carr.
  10. Also keep in mind, the context... that California had an absolutely awful defense (e.g. ranked 127 out of 128 teams, in points allowed), and all too frequently, Cal was playing from behind trying to catch-up, where opposing defenses could expect passing plays/to pass rush and just tee off on the QB.
  11. The Highlights from his 2016 game against SD State look good as well. He makes a bunch of long, downfield throws. Albeit, SD is a weaker team, but they did have one DB who got drafted if I'm not mistaken.
  12. That's a very encouraging read.
  13. Interesting...Is he the next Darren Sproles? Or is he Dri Archer? Playing on the bears certainly won't help.
  14. I'm not so sure you can paint such a broad brush...Landon Collins was clearly a better player in his second year compared with his first. Other players who noticeably improved include: Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, Donte Hightower, and Marcell Dareus
  15. If it's that obvious of a running situation we have Tye and Adams as well. How about a TE that can jump and catch in the red zone?
  16. The point about LBs is partially true... only partially because I believe Keenan Robinson was a solid and consistent starter for us at LB. Casillas and Kennard are meh, to your point. I still don't get the point about the 2nd blocking TE being a need. In the modern game, power sets like that are a rarity, and we already have one blocking TE. The bigger threat and factor is having a great receiving TE who's adaqeute at blocking, and can stay on the field all three downs to create mismatches and keep defenses off balance.
  17. I don't see anything in their scouting products that say they're finished products or good blockers.
  18. Howard and Njoku aren't finished products and aren't good blockers.
  19. I also firmly believe that, once Engram steps on the field, and he's Eli's safety blanket plus threat up the seams, plus once you see him actually block LBs, that giant fans will be very pleased with the selection.
  20. What other positions would people have liked in the 1st and 2nd rounds, and who would you have chosen? I can see the argument for LB and OL over TE and QB, but DT was a clear need as well, and was fulfilled in the 2nd round. I like the 1st and 2nd round picks, but I'm a bit ambivalent about choosing a QB in the 3rd. Going by positions of need, my alternatives in the 3rd round would have been OL Issac Asiata, Dorian Johnson, or LB Anthony Walker Jr. Some of those guys went in the 5th, so trading down maybe.
  21. Most college QBs these days play in non-pro style offenses, Tribusky, Watson, and Mahomes included. There are plenty of examples of those guys making it: Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Dak Prescott, Marcus Mariota,
  22. And? What's the completion %'s below and above 10? Also, what's the average rate?
  23. Where are people getting that his deep ball accuracy is poor? Do we have figures on this?
  24. Picks in the first two rounds are the ones that you need to key players on the team. Here's your silver lining: 1 - Beckham, Marshall, Shephard, Engram; good luck defending that. 2 - Dalvin: Hankins, a solid starter, leaves creating a gaping hole on our DL. Dalvin should be able to step in day one and start. To me, the 2nd DT spot was our biggest hole outside of OL, and ahead of LB. For the rest: 3 - I don't know much about Webb, and I personally preferred an OL here, but I did watch the combine, where I thought Webb looked the best throwing the ball. Check out his YouTube vid against SD State, where he's making accurate, pro style throws +10 and + 20 yards. 4 - Clemson I have seen a lot of. Gallman should be a solid back who brings some tackle breaking ability (that we lack) and plays faster than his combine numbers suggest. If you want to say Darkwa can be a power back, that's fair, but he's also unproven and hasn't been healthy. What sucks is they'll both likely have a poor OL this season. 5 - Moss. No problem with a pass rusher here. Maybe LB is a possibility for him? Or at least sub package, pass rusher. 6 - OL depth, which was lacking.
