  1. I was out of the house after round four, I love the Brewer pick. NFL network had a thing on "steals of the draft" a week or so ago and he was one of the player, basically a starting LT who needs abit of work before he is a starter. The fact that Reese was able to snag this kid has me ecstatic and we may have found our future LT. Like I said before I was out of the house today and missed the rest of the draft but I like the look of it, two LBs who should help push if not improve our LB core. Greg Jones sounds like he was a good player in college and a good pickup for the 6th round, hopefully he pans out and becomes something special. Sash I cant comment on since I read positive and negative about him but he was probably one of the best players available and JR pulled the trigger. Scott has me abit interested, a RB who isn't an up the middle type of runner and is somewhat injury prone but at the same time ran a 4.34 40. If we cant resign both Jacobs and Bradshaw I can see him slowly being worked in as the chance of pace back, let him take more and more snaps a game and see if he can adjust to the pro level. If he doesnt, then it was just a 7th round pick.
  2. Bear "I'll block for you" Pascoe is our FB. I wouldn't be surprised season start (if there is one) that he is no longer listed as a TE and listed as a FB.
  3. Actually when you think about it...we need a return man. We literally had zero threat of returning punts or kicks last year. With Smith/Nicks/Manningham and the plethora of WRs we signed at the end of the year, let them worry about catching the ball from Eli. Let Jernigan focus on making our return game something special, plus let him be eased into the WR role. You never know with a year or two maybe Eli will adjust throwing to him then the other way around.
  4. Really everywhere I'm reading at the moment says he's a late second to late third round pick. One of those Reggie Bush types, when the ball is in his hands he makes people miss and can make plays happen. The problem comes with everything else.
  5. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2011/profiles/jerrel-jernigan?id=2495179#tab=1 Yeah he's our return guy. 11 total kick and punt returned TDs.
  6. Return specialist is all I see with this pick.
  7. What argument? Cofield has made it clear he wants to play somewhere were he wants to get paid. No argument.
  8. Anyways back to the topic of this thread. Ryan Mallett to the Pats? Alittle Matt Castle magic maybe?
  9. So that's why Cofield is leaving the Giants for a nice big fat paycheck instead of staying with the team that took a chance on him in the fourth round?
  10. Taken from the Giants website. http://www.giants.com/team/player214.html Cofield is the NT.
  11. By the way I'm not trying to knock Cofield, he has been an incredible player for us for only being a fourth round pick. He's played really good for us for the time he has been the starter but saying he is one of the best in the NFL? That's a stretch. Just if the choice was Smith vs Cofield, with the draft picks we made, Smith is easily the only choice anyone should make. At the same time you never know maybe JR works some magic and smokes some cock and Barry stays.
  12. The Giants play a 4-3 the last time I seen one of our DTs line up on the nose on a regular basis Normand Hand was still on the team.
  13. How so? We now have two second round picks devoted into DTs in Joseph and Austin, behind Smith we have Manningham and who else? We also have guys like Tuck/Osi/JPP/Canty ect around guys like Cofield, where as Steve Smith is our #1 guy who teams know if they take him away this team struggles in the passing game. So once again losing Cofield would not be a big deal compared to losing the arguably one of the best WR the Giants have had to this point
  14. And you are saying my comment was the worst comment ever made on the website?
  15. And by all accounts one of the better DT in the draft, who would of gone top 15 if he didnt miss a year. Last I checked we had a pretty good D-line that he could be groomed behind.
  16. Steve Smith second round pick. Barry Cofield fourth round pick. We now have two second round DTs in Joseph and Austin....who is easier to replace?
  17. Smith is rehabbing well and by all reports is coming along much like KP did. Smith will be going by week one but it may take time for him to return to 100%. Besides we loso Cofield it's no big deal we got Joseph and Austin now. So lose Smith and Eli is fucked, with dropsy #88 and #82.
  18. He's actually still a viable #1 WR in the league, he is a straight up football player who knows how to use his size and speed to beat alot of the CBs in the league. He needs another WR to take heat off him and a QB throwing to him, it's basically the same effect as TO back with the Bills. He had no QB throwing to him and not much of a threat across the field. Newton will bring "flash" to Carolina and help sell tickets for the year, after that who knows. If the kid can learn to actually play the QB position he might end up being something decent, he has the physical attributes anyways. In all likelihood he will just be told to run around and make a nice pass or two while throwing 5/21 and 4 Ints.
  19. I hope so as well, by everything I'm reading he was the second best CB in the league behind Peterson but only because Peterson is such a physical freak of nature not because he isnt technically as good. The only thing I'm worried about is CB is one of those "boom or bust" positions. It's one of the trail by fire way of learning where you have to put your CB out there and hope he learns and improves, it's one of those positions you just cant coach as well as others. Webster is a good example of a guy who struggled mightily but then was able to get himself comfortable and the rest is history, I know myself I never gave up on him and defended him quite abit when people were ready to move on... I cant blame them though with his play leading up to his break threw. I just hope Prince is trurly one of those CBs ready to jump in and face the fire of the NFL, sure he is going to give up some TDs and big plays but he's a rookie. I just hope he is ready to take those beatings and learn from them, CBs are an iffy position, just when you think you have a good one he turns out to be a bust.
  20. Thanks Rik, had to steal it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leX0rYpk9wc http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=6431017 Source Welcome to NY Prince Amukamara, top 10 talent we were able to get at 19. Should be starting across from Webby week one.
  21. So the Saints can trade up for Ingram but we cant?
  22. Any chance we trade up with GB at 32 and get Ingram? I know, it will never happen
  23. Well with the Eagles who have Jackson and Maclin and the Cowboys with Austin and Dezzy I can see why the Giants made this pick. He's a top 10 player who feel to us at 19. With Ross and TT both in contract years and the unknown FA coming up he's a good value/need pick.
