I dont think JPP will change the game like LT did but if JPP keeps playing at the level he is he will be regarded as one of the best DEs to ever suit up. Funny we go from Strahan who is already argued as a top 5 DE ever to play the game and now we have JPP who if he keeps this level of play up can be regarded in the same top 5. Cant have to many pass rushers.

People can lay into Coughlin all they want but the Giants came out in the second half with a passion to win, despite the ineptitude of Gilly, the refs and Fewell still trying to play a soft zone.

The problem I see isnt Eli, it's going to be the rest of the team and the glaring problems that need to be filled. It's not going to be a one season swing, it's going to be something that is going to take a number of seasons, especially if we are talking about a new coaching staff and the roster flip many people are calling for. I'm sure Eli can get us 6-7 wins, much like this season however the problem is going to come with everything else on the team. I dont think we are as talented as the team was in '07 or recent years, am I saying the Giants are doomed for the next 15 years? No but I do think we are headed for a drought of three or more seasons of struggling to even put together a winning record or wild card spot while the team is trying to gel with atleast a new OC/DC maybe HC and hopefully a revamped roster.

Well considering the GM hires/fire the coaches of the team I'm surprised that Coughlin gets so much blame for Gilly and Fewell. Don't get me wrong i know the HC gets alot of say in who he wants in the coaches under him but at the end of the day Reese and Co have the final say on who is the OC/DC. If the Coaches get a clean out this off season I'm hoping Reese gets abit of a slap across the face as well, with his decision to stick with guys like Gilly and Fewell...not to mention make some absolutely horrible FA signings in recent years. He's riding on a team that EA built up that is slowly falling apart, we're really going to see how Reese can build a team as the Giants are heading into rebuild mode this off season.

I think most Giant fans are in agreement that changes need to happen. The real question is how long is the rebuild process going to be? I'll support the Giants until the day I die but in the next five years if the Giants are rebuilding and struggling to put a winning season together you are going to have just as many people bitching about the same thing.

Coaching was a problem but so are the players and this goes for the entire season. It almost seems like every single Giants player (with the exception of a few) basically said "Fuck it, I'm getting paid" honestly it's almost like there is zero sense of professionalism on the team and that starts from the top and goes down. We could have The Chin or Gruden throwing six year old tantrums on the sidelines at the players and they would still be playing this way, there is zero leadership in the locker room. There are more problems with the Giants this season then just the coaching, hopefully there is some major changes this off season with the coaches and the players.

To be fair Dog I think only a few members here ever called Eli, "elite" I still have the same stance on Eli like I did before and after the SB. He's a very good QB who seems to excel in the 4th quarter and can play at a top 5 QB level...however he is still going to be Eli. After years watching him play he's always going to throw off his back foot, he's always going to make bone headed plays and he's always going to have "that" game a season. At the same time I'll support him until he decides to hang up the cleats.

I dont know the Giants are ranked 7th in scoring, with almost 25 points a game the how much more of a lift does the offense need? The problem is the Giants need to score those points because the defense (usually) gives them back up. If anything we need to sure up the defensive woes mainly LB. I think drafting some giant run blocking OL from some deep part of the south named Bubba Smackyamomma to pair along with Snee will actually greatly improve the offense more then a WR or RB would.
