Lughead
They also have a Franchised Punter..... Steve Weatherford Received the franchise tag today. Only the 3rd punter in history to have the franchise tag placed on him.

NightFire
I thought he got a contract? Guy deserves it though. Odd that the Giants don't franchise players but they do a punter. After last years nightmare though I see why.
Treehugger
Negotiations must have broken down. I wonder what the average of the top 5 Punter salaries is? Probably less than a million.

Dragon
He was a big reason the Giants beat San Fran. We'd be looking at disaster again had he not brilliantly caught that low snap on the fg in OT.
TrashTalker92
The tag is avg for the top 5 punters or something like that. The tag money will also be included in the long term contract when it's all said and done. I'm so hyped that he's staying with us, the defense must be stoke!! NightFire
He was a big reason the Giants beat San Fran. This is an over exaggeration because all wins are a team effort but he was a huge reason for the SB win also. 1st possession Patriots at own 6. Saftey 4th possession (third punt) Patriots at own 4. 8th possession (4th punt I think). Patriots at own 8. Obviously the D has to make the stops but that is some tough sledding. Basically on 4 punts he pins the Patriots inside their own 10. Also on the DeOssie touchback, who was also very instrumental on STs, he should have had that inside the 10. Sephiroth
I'd double that for the guy to stay. Two words: Matt Dodge. I hope his "big leg" is coming in handy as he sweeps that grocery store floor.
