  1. Saw it happen last week, but every talking head and the vast majority of fans wrote it off when we were down by 12.
  2. It's hard to say if Pittsburgh would part with Harrison and with Osi having just a year left on his deal (I think) - I don't know if that would even be entertained. Not to mention, with Pittsburgh running a 3-4, I don't feel that Osi would be a good DE in a 3-4 set. Osi is too hell bent on rushing the passer and getting pushed by while running lanes open underneath. Pittsburgh's LBers are good enough to fill the holes when need be, but I don't know that Pittsburgh would be inviting that problem in...in exchange for one of the LBers who's very good at plugging the hole. Make sense?
  3. honestly, I'd want a guy like J.Harrison or R.Lewis who would take a mofo's head off if they came across the middle...penalty or not.
  4. Not to mention the flags on the CB for whispering sweet nothings in the WR ear as they run up and down the field together.
  5. The rushing marks are more impressive now given the league's push towards more passing and higher scoring. The breaking of Marino's records, while impressive, pale in comparison, again, given the new rules that favor passing.
  6. Broncos and Jets ahead of Giants...on both lists? wow...just wow
  7. I think that a quality RT could be found in the 2nd. Generally just the LTs go in the first. I like Diehl/Petrus/Snee/Boothe at G. I like Boothe/Baas at C. I am not sold on Beatty, but many like him. McKenzie's best days are behind him, but is serviceable (at best). I'm thinking that OT is a need, if for no other reason, than to get a stud in the house to groom for depth purposes. I really think our top 3 should be OT, RB, LB - though not necessarily in that order. Follow that up with CB, S, QB, KR - though not necessarily in that order.
  8. More or less, as for WR - I'm fine signing one so long as they're a 3rd WR on the depth chart behind Nicks and Cruz and they are okay with being paid as such. Could that be Wayne? Sure, but at his age, you don't get big money. Perhaps Barden can step into that role finally. Either way, if we were to draft one in the top 5 rounds, I'd be pissed. LBer and O-Line are much, much higher priorities in my opinion. Secondary should be fine if they can stay healthy. Resigning T2 is number 1 this offseason. They should do it now.
  9. Really wasn't that bad to expand upon this article: Scroll down to December 12, 10:00 am
  10. For the Eagles to win the division (and for me to swear off football until the offseason), there are only 5 ways: Eagles have to go 3-0, while the Giants go LLW and Cowboys go WLL Eagles have to go 3-0, while the Giants go WLL and Cowboys go LLW Eagles have to go 3-0, while the Giants go LWL and Cowboys go LLW Eagles have to go 3-0, while the Giants go LLL and Cowboys go LLW Eagles have to go 3-0, while the Giants go LLW and Cowboys go LLL
  11. I was actually just going through all of this. The following chart details the chances the Giants have given the outcome of their games. First column is the outcome of the Giants games. Second column is the number of combinations with the Cowboys games' outcomes. The third column is the number of those outcomes the Giants win the division. The last column is simply the percentage of outcomes the Giants win the division given the first column. In the first line, the Giants win their final 3 games. Coupled with the potential outcomes of the Cowboys games, there are 4 scenarios. While the Giants go WWW, the Cowboys could go WWL, WLL, LWL, or LLL - hence the 4 outcomes. In all 4 of those outcomes, the Giants win the division. The asterisk is a wild card. In the third line below, if the Giants win in weeks 15 and 16 - there are 8 combinations of wins and losses with the Cowboys in which the Giants win the division 6 times. So, if the Giants win in weeks 15 and 16 - there is still a possibility they can lose the division and miss the playoffs. At the end of the day - we need to beat the Cowboys. If we lose to the Cowboys, there are only 2 of 19 scenarios where we win the division. WWW 4 4 100.00 WWL 4 2 50.00 WW* 8 6 75.00 WLW 4 4 100.00 WL* 9 4 44.44 WLL 5 0 0.00 W*W 8 8 100.00 W*L 9 2 22.22 W** 17 10 58.82 LWW 4 4 100.00 LWL 5 0 0.00 LW* 9 4 44.44 LLW 6 3 50.00 LLL 5 0 0.00 LL* 11 3 27.27 L*W 10 7 70.00 L*L 10 0 0.00 L** 20 7 35.00 *WW 8 8 100.00 *WL 9 2 22.22 *W* 17 10 58.82 *LW 10 7 70.00 *LL 10 0 0.00 *L* 20 7 35.00 **W 18 15 83.33 **L 19 2 10.53 *** 37 17 45.95
  12. You and me both. Sad days when we were happy with Danny Kanell over Dave Brown.
  13. No doubt the OLine needs some depth added this offseason, but given their play the past two weeks, I'm not going to be overly critical. The running game has actually shown up two weeks in a row for the first time in I don't know how long. Add to that Eli's getting rid of the ball quicker and this offense might be, I repeat MIGHT BE, getting in gear.
  14. Y'know...this has stuck with me too. Barden has good hands. It is difficult to determine if his lack of production is due to his lack of getting open or his lack of targets given the other options.
  15. Barden had a few plays that I remember seeing his number, but he certainly didn't get too many targets. WIth a healthy Manningham, Cruz, Nicks, Ballard...added to Jacobs/Bradshaw running like they should've all along...added to our offensive line playing better...I just don't see Barden getting the ball thrown his way all that much. The debate is whether or not Barden could fill the role of Cruz on the outside in 3 WR sets should Manningham not return. Nicks is definitely on the outside. Cruz would be better in the slot than Barden. When Hixon gets healthy, he could fight for that 3rd WR spot too.
  16. Nope, I don't think Reese will or should offer him big money. Osi should get backup money from us, because that's what he'd be. If he wants to start and get starter money, he should go elsewhere to get it. I'm simply saying that we should make our offer. That, or trade him with the 1 year remaining on his deal so that we get something in return.
  17. Agreed. Goff - I could live without as long as he's replaced by someone who can step in. Our rookies (Jones, Paysinger, the other guy) have gained significant experience this season that coupled with a full offseason, will only improve their play. I will say that these younger guys are athletic, but just need more time to grow accustomed to their role. Goff could be replaced by a veteran with 2-3 years of solid playing time left in their tank. I'd like to see him signed, but we could survive without him. T2 - a definite need here to resign him. I've said before that Aaron Ross is serviceable as a #3 CB, but that's about as far as I'll go. T2 is big time though and needs to be made a priority. Pascoe, Ballard, and Tollefson - these are all lesser known role player guys who are part of our rotation. They are not, however, stand out, team leading, type guys. Because of that, I think they're value is significantly lower on the open FA market than it is for us. MM - expendable with Cruz's emergence and Barden's flashes. I am not sold on Barden, but he's shown just enough to be given another year. Cruz can play the slot or the outside. I'm not sure Barden could play the slot, yet. Either way, I'd be good with Nicks and Cruz as 1-2 with Barden being our 3. Losing Manningham would hurt depth though. An effort to resign him should be made, but we don't need to go apeshit with his deal.
  18. The line is much improved without Baas, with Petrus at LG and Diehl at LT.
  19. I still think the Giants should offer him a deal, because Osi is certainly a very reliable backup...but yeah, he's definitely gotten shuffled down the depth chart due to JPP's play. That said, because Osi could start on a number of teams leaguewide, I don't expect him to return once his contract is up.
  20. Colinsworth is a piece of shit. Can't stand the guy. He and Joe Buck both...terrible.
  21. I think the offense will show up and the defense will struggle.
  22. I honestly thought this was going to be a thread devoted to DJ's running style...lol.
  23. I'm betting Cofield feels the same way.
