staying in physical shape and staying in football shape so you can get drilled by a 280 lb freak are two completely different things. you only get in football shape in camp and, to a lesser extent, mini camps (no hitting, but you are sorta kept in football mode at least like getting down the playbook & awareness). Camp was rushed, these are the results. and this ties in to what Tree said about an ACL not being a conitioning thing. true.... to an extent. being in poor condition won't directly impact the ACL, but not being in full football shape, such as running at full speed getting hit and field awareness, most certainly can.

This is what happens when owners lock out players and then push them to start the season on time when they are completely out of football shape. Well done MaraTischCo., well done.

i'd take preseason hockey over footbal in a second, especially when you're gonna get high school quality football for the first month or two. football is boring as all hell compared to hockey. only thing thing better about football is that you get a piss break after every play since guys do nothing except stand around in a fucking circle waiting for some fat slob send plays in.

ok. i could care less about this season after the lockout. i'm happier than a pig in shit that hockey starts next week. it wouldn't shock me if i totally forgot about the game next sunday and miss it

8-8 if everything breaks right..... which could be 4-12 if things go south way too many holes for a team that 1) arguably hasn't improved at all as a back to back non-playoff team & 2) has too many good teams ahead of them in the conference: GB, Saints, Eagles, & the poop from NFC West that is guaranteed a playoff spot. secondary is now paper thin, DTs are unproven, OL needs time to gel, WR now appears thin, QB is INT & fumble happy, Coach/OC playcalling is suspect, ST are meh, no TEs, can the D cover ANY running backs coming out of the backfield?, can the D come up with any big stops instead of coming up small?.... just too many ?s

Osi, I love you man, but you're getting your Stretch Armstrong on here. Our secondary is in tatters... the middle of our DL and LBs are still a ?.... the last couple years, our D NEVER came up with the big stop. the track record simply is not there for a top 5 D. Top 10? maybe I could agree.... but prob not. i really think we are middle of the pack at the moment

how is he supposed to get on the field when he had Nicks, Smith and Manningham ahead of him? and when he did get on the field, he did look good. you can't give up on this guy yet. remember Ed McCaffrey? the grass is always greener....

Manningham's route running sucks, hence I don't think he'd be able to fill the slot roll. if he's able to fix that, maybe.

I cannot fathom why the Giants play these inbreds every frickin preseason. it's the stepchildrens SuperBowl every year and we always get injuries out of it. honestly, i'd rather see the Giants forfeit the game and play a 2 hand touch intra squad scrimmage.

i really wish the season would have been pushed back a full month. give the guys time to get in proper condition, under the supervision of their respective teams. anyone who thought these guys were gonna be in football shape coming out of the lockout was on crack. now we see the results of rushing into the season. i can't wait to watch the first 2 months of college quality NFL......
