  1. Jack: wouldn't be surprised with 5-11 at all. i think this is one season, due to the lock out, that is totally up in the air and anything can happen. we're usually cursed with injuries to begin with, and i think it will be even worse this year. add that to the many Qs we have about this team, which simply cannot be denied, and I'm nervous.
  2. honestly, i have a really bad feeling about this season too. i could definitely envision a 5-11 season unfolding. reasons being..... i'm very worried about our LB situation. though our LBs are serviceable, i'm scared to death of teams with RBs coming out of the backfield and TEs lighting us up. if our young DTs don't progress nicely and get us some push up the middle, our d-line is screwed. we have no TEs... might as well bring see if Howard Cross wants to come back for a year. our WR core is banking on a lot of what ifs. yes, i know we're deep at WR, but still..... after Nicks and Manningham, I just don't know. I still would like a kicker that can hit one outside 30 yards. does the OL gel? does Eli stop making stupid, forced, boneheaded throws and start throwing the ball away/not take bad sacks? that being said, if players progress and things groove like Mr Reese is banking on, we could go 11-5. our OL could be fucking awesome. we may have a FB that can level peeps, and as such, help take pressure off not having a good TE. our secondary should be amazing. Matt Dodge will rise like a phoenix and become the greatest punter in franchise history.
  3. i remember that "grass" experiment using the removable octogonal pallets. the grass lasted a week or two, and then it was painted green mud the rest of the year.
  4. i'm thinking we'll be using a FB a whole lot more with 3 WR sets.
  5. Boss is worth half that amount on his best day. he never was a great blocker, too many drops, and a bad noggin. this isn't that bad.
  6. When Boss breaks his head in game 5 of season and his career is finished, Mr Reese will be looking like a genius (this is if Boss signs a megadeal of course). I love what he has brought to the team since '07, but Boss is a walking concussion waiting to happen.
  7. lmao! allow me to translate: "Osi, we gave you a chance to go out and find a trade. For a player with your, as you like to say, elite skills, you should have easily brought in a 1st. Well, obviously you ain't all that and the rest of the league knows you never played up to your last contract. Not get off your ass and practice...... bitch." -The Reese
  8. Tuck had 76 tackles and 6 FFs (both career highs) & 11.5 sacks in 2010... all while facing double and triple teams. nope, he didn't play too well at all. he had a slight down year in 2009, but had an injured shoulder. 2008 he was a fucking stud. as usual, the stats don't support your supposition
  9. Yeah, I'm sure they do. The worst owner in sports history and a coach with one playoff win in 10 years... while playing in the toilet bowl division known as the AFC West. Belichick is gonna be laughing all the way to the AFC Championship
  10. and i wouldn't touch Dungy as Giants coach with a 10' pole. I'll take what Mr Belichick thinks over Dungy opinions any day
  11. Strahan is a first ballot HOFer. Osi isn't remotely close to sniffing the HOF, so comparing the two in any way, shape or form is just rediculous. and i tend to agree with Nas on the ball stripping. Osi has no other option except to take a swipe at the ball. He has completely taken himself out of position to sack the QB, so he does his swipe. It worked for him last year a shit load, but what has his style of play gotten him other than that? He still can't defend the run at all and has not lived up to his "elite" contract... again, his own agent's words, not mine. Nas is also 100% correct that Tuck is our stud pass rusher. Osi isn't worthy to sniff Tuck's jock. And the fact that Osi can't put up better numbers opposite Tuck, who is commanding the double and triple teams, is very telling. He should be killing the QB, but nope, he takes himself out of the play. I honestly can't remember a single instance of Osi planting a QB into the ground To paraphrase the great Tuna... you are what your stats say you are The compiled data and stats during Osi's contract extension proves he's not all that.
  12. question.... why can't a backup C, or any other OL, learn to long snap? having to carry an extra player, in this case a LB in DeOssie, just to long snap seems ludicrous to me. I know it's been like this for awhile, but really, what's so difficult for one of these guys to learn to long snap?
  13. Preach on T, preach on! Here is an article about Osi's extension when he signed it back in 2005: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2270401 the guy made $21mil in the first 3 years alone, it was the largest extension ever for a 3rd year vet, and his own agent said "This moves Osi into a category with the most elite ends in the game, and that's saying something for a player who hasn't even completed his third season yet." now, let's see Osi's stats since he signed the extension from 2006 on... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osi_Umenyiora#Statistics has Osi lived up to the insane extension he signed? in 2006 he was hurt and only had 6 sacks and 1 FF. in 2007 he had a very good year (however, T's point can be raised here). 2008 he misses the season. 2009 is another down year after coming back from injury. 2010 he is a FF machine, but his run D, which went out the window in previous years, is still dormant. so, 5 years into his deal and he has, at most, 2 good years. the rest were poop. so to answer my own question... no, Osi has not lived up to his "elite ends" contract. and this mofo is bitching about needing more $. Fuck Osi.
  14. could this new rule possibly be for players in their first few after being drafted? if it's for vets, that's crazy
  15. while not pissed, especially if we can upgrade our punter, i am a little disappointed. i was really rooting for Dodge and wanted him to succeed. i'd love to see the Giants have a young punter (and kicker) that would be around for 15 years. but, whatev. if Maynard's leg is still good, i'll be happier than a pig in shit! also just read something about the Giants being interested in Turk
  16. Reese and TC must be very concerned about Smith's health if they are talking to Plax. That's all i can figure with this. i suppose they are also spooked due to only having 1 WR playing last year that was on the opening day roster. as long as our cap isn't f'd by a plax contract, i'm really "feh" about the whole thing. dude should still be in jail imo.
  17. I can't fucking stand Osi. would trade him for a 3rd in a heartbeat. He takes himself out of the play constantly by attempting to strip the ball constantly. I think the guy is really scared of physical play. He can't defend the run. He's being paid VERY well compared to other DEs, yet bitches constantly. F him. I'd even take a 4th
  18. glad to see Rockey go. hopefully Kevin's head doesn't break
  19. i hope Dan Snyder lives to be 139 and never sells that team
  20. i thought i read that his leg is dead
  21. wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute..... you're a fucking Skins fan?
  22. this seems like a really good signing. the dude was supposed to be the best FA C on the market and can also play G. i am happy with our OL at this point.
  23. That contract is batshit insane. Barry has his ring, and obviously only cares about the money now, so good for him i guess. That being said, i'm much happier the kids we've drafted are now getting a shot. i've said it before and i'll say it again, i think Barry is completely overrated.... and his sack dance is stupid as all hell. that is the dumbest thing i've ever had the misfortune to witness. I can't wait to watch him get manhandled by the Giants this year
  24. it's not 2007 anymore Holmes. 3.3 ypc.... no thanks
