  1. Drafting a tackle late would be just like drafting any other position late in the draft. With coaching there is always a chance that a late round player could become a good player, and i don't see why it would be different for an offensive tackle. Plus, if he doesn't turn out to be a starter...It was only a fifth rounder...not a first day pick. And the only reason i have Brandon Johnson going that low is because of where draft countdown has him ranked among OLB's.....thinking I may have to change that up
  2. interesting...seeing as Johnson was also in your draft...don't like him anymore? Please....gimme some feed back....just because i ripped yours to shreds doesn't mean to should dislike mine just to spite me.....
  3. What is really strange is that, as amazing a player as Jagr is, he seems to do poorly in shootouts...I would like to see a Jagr-Sykora-Prucha lineup for the shootouts Graham isn't that good...we should of been able to beat him atleast once...
  4. blind defensive end from Virginia? was that Chris Canty?
  5. I watched about 2 or 3 'Bama games this season and let me tell you, Ryans is much faster than he times. He fls around the field, chases plays down...I was actually surprised when I read scouting reports that stated he was "not a great athlete"...timed speed means little, game speed is important, and Ryans has got plenty of it.
  6. I would love to get tickets to the Giants/Colts or Giants/Bears games.... the hype surrounding "Manning bowl I" will likely be insane....and Giants/Bears just seems like some good old fashioned smash mouth football
  7. Brandon Johnson in the third would be a HUGE reach...he will likely fall into the second day. There is no reason to take two defensive tackles. Please tell us who the hell Javon Nanton is....position,measurables, mother's maiden name....give us something. Cromartie would be a great pick, but sadly for us, i don't see him reaching 25. Mike Kudla is a DE if im not mistaken....and we do not need to be using our draft picks on defensive end. Otherwise...not bad
  8. Damn...we needed to win this game seeing as we gotta play Ottawa AND Buffalo this week...If we can take one of those games and the game against the fishsticks we should be just fine, but i sure would like to see them win one of these close games....
  9. *insert random, incoherent ramble here* Here is how I would like to see the chips fall for the Giants come draft day 2006: Round 1-Demeco Ryans-OLB Alabama-Ryans could come in and start at WILL from day one. His football instincts and smarts are some of the best in the draft for a linebacker, and he has much better game speed than his timed speed would lead you to believe. His intangibles, aggression and leadership would all be invaluable to our defense and he would make an immediate impact. Ernie Simms would be a good pick at this point as well, but chances are that, after his great combine, he will not fall to 25. Round 2-Jonathan Lewis-DT Virginia Tech- A stout and quick defensive tackle that could come in and be a productive part of the DT rotation. He can struggle in run defense, but has the stength and toughness to improve in this area. His quickness off the snap helps him to penetrate and be disruptive on the pass rush and excels at getting into the backfield. Could fill the role that Clancy played for us last season. With a season or two under his belt he could become a very good player and add another pass rusher to the d-line. Round 3-Dee Webb-CB Florida- A phenominal athlete who might of come out of college too early. While he does have outstanding physical skills, he is still raw and would not be ready to really contribute next season as he would still need some coaching. But, with the signings of McQuarters and Madison, he likely would be the dime corner at best and would have the time to develop that he needs. Has the tools to start at CB eventually. Round 4-Jonathan Orr-WR Wisconsin- Would give our offense a quality deep threat. Is a great leaper, has great speed, and good hands. Does have trouble finding holes in coverage and can struggle to get open, so may never become a #1 but has the tools to, at the very least, become a very good slot reciever and could very well beat our Carter and Taylor in camp to be the third wideout. Developmental prospect. Round 5-Michael Toudouze-OT TCU- Toudouze would be a developmental player that brings the size and athletic ability to the table to eventually play LT in the pros. Would need a few season of coaching before he was ready, but luckily we have Luke locked up for awhile, and Whitfield as primary backup, so we can afford to take some time to coach him up. Round 6-Brandon Johnson-OLB Louisille- Outstanding athlete, but Johnson seriously lacks size. Would contribute on special teams and add depth at the WILL spot. At this point, his physical skills would make him a good pick late in the draft. Round 7-Dawan Landry-S Georgia Tech- A huge hitter with great size, but a player that has below average speed. Most likely would play Strong Saftey in the NFL and would help provide depth at that position and could contribute on special teams. So there it is...thoughts, comments, complaints?
  10. that William Joseph will show us that last year was not a fluke, and continue to improve...
  11. He never said Lightening were that good. We have proven that we can handle the lightning...but Buffalo has given us trouble all year, Ottawa is stacked with talent, anad Philly is always tough...Tampa in the first roudn would be a good matchup for us to advance...
  12. That was an ugly loss last night. Malik and Rosival need to learn to PUSH people out from in front of the net. Simply leaning on them just adds to the screen and accomplishes nothing...
  13. Glad you got this thing together again...it was mucho fun last year I'm in
  14. No, Larry Allen got into it with the kicker....Key and Bledsoe had a little screaming match on the sideline
  15. Just like how Shockey would be traded or cut by now and Willie Joe wouldn't make the 2005 roster? Quit your blabbering....
  16. out of that Key-Arrington-Jackson trio mentioned I would rather take Grady....This years draft is deep at linebacker...and even if we go into the season with a starting LB core of Emmons-Pierce-Torbor, that is still a pretty solid set of linebackers. Key would be a luxury at this point. We have more pressing needs at both DT and LB to let the third wide reciever spot be a legitimate hole, and we should look to sign Jackson before Key.
  17. If he comes for a reasonable amount of money and understands that he will only be a 2nd wideout AT BEST...I see no problem with the move. He may not be a burner, but he is willing to go over the middle, has good hands, and gives us yet another big target for Eli. Still would like to see us bring in a real burner to stretch the field, whether through the draft or free agency. and, while he may be a loud mouth at times...he is no where near as destructive to a team as say....TO.....
  18. There are two possibilities...If TC talks to him about his antics and Eli plays solid the entire year than I think he has a chance to make the pro-bowl But if he is not spoken too and Eli struggles for a part of the season again than I can see Plax acting up again and going downhill... The most telling factor will be whether TC has a meeting with Plax to rectify the problem....this is ultimately decide how Plax acts next season
  19. Why the hell would we take three linebackers within the first five rounds?
  20. Heres to Leetchie.....thanks for the memories
  21. Honestly...this is good news to me.... Frankly, I am unimpressed with Arrington and feel we would be better off without him on our team....use the money that would go to Arrington to grab a solid DT and go after a LB in the draft....
  22. I beg to differ Nem...the guy has all the athletic ability, work ethic, football smarts and character to be a very good player in this league...I would be surprised if he turned out to be a bust
  23. ....with Chad Greenway and Demeco Ryans still on the board, and with our hole at WILL still open....we will take santonio holmes......suuure
