  1. I don't want anyone from the NFC East as a head coach. The only exception would be Dan Quinn as DC, but that's never going to happen so it's safe to say it.
  2. Buddy Ryan's ill-advised bounty on Lawrence Taylor. NFL won't allow embedding of clips-watch on Youtube
  3. He certainly seemed genuine to me. Choked up, almost remorseful for what has happened to this team, yet firm in stating the new GM and coach will make the decisions going forward. I'm very hopeful for the future if they get the right guys. Unfortunately, the right guys are going to be hamstrung by the cap situation, but one thing at a time.
  4. https://youtu.be/kljpPyR1aBI?t=313 Is this your lowest moment in your association with the Giants? 5. That's why I keep saying trade away the 2 firsts. Surely we could end up with 4 firsts next year or 3 next and 2-3 in 23, something like that. We're not going to be able to unload enough players for cap space, just go with what we've got, pick up some depth in the later rounds and wait for '23 and beyond. I know it sounds sort of like what Ditka did to get Ricky Williams, but the 1st round talent is supposedly better in '23, especially at QB. No matter what, we need a plan and we need to stick to the plan.
  6. I get where you're coming from. Very few HC's, rookie HC's especially, are going to come in turn around a team, and win a SB. Gotta give the guy time to gel with his team, right? Every time I heard one of his presser's I wanted to believe he was the guy. Even up to where he was spouting off about not being a clown culture. There's something about the way he speaks that makes you want to buy into it. But when he starts saying things like winning doesn't matter, culture is more important than wins, free agents wanting to come back (yet Gallman was the only free agent that left), saving a submarine...he's clearly in over his head. And to prove it, regardless of what his 1st year was like, the Giants gave him the skill players to get the most out of this team with no improvement in year 2, damn the headsets. Now we'll go through growing pains yet again and it'll be 3 years before we see significant improvement. As long as there is change...improvement...this is what had to be done.

  8. Rank 32 1 New York Giants 4-13 Previous rank: No. 31 The Giants have their work cut out for them this offseason. A proud franchise cratered in 2021, reduced to punchline status as loss after loss piled up and the team became increasingly non-competitive. Dave Gettleman conveniently excused himself from the mess he helped create, announcing his retirement on Monday. That officially puts Big Blue in the market for a new GM and team builder, but what about Joe Judge? Does the embattled head coach get a third year with a 10-23 record to his name? Should the inconsistent and injury-plagued Daniel Jones still be seen as the future at quarterback? This is one of those messes where anxiety comes from not being sure where to even start. 9. No conclusive indication Joe Judge will return as Giants HC in 2022 Joe Judge's future as head coach of the New York Giants remains uncertain a day after Big Blue ended its 2021 campaign with a sixth consecutive loss for a 4-13 season. The Giants have provided no definitive indication that Judge will return for the 2022 campaign, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Monday. Judge met Monday -- a day in which Giants general manager Dave Gettleman retired -- with team ownership and those meetings concluded with discussions set to continue regarding the 40-year-old's plan for the future, Garafolo reported. One of management's concerns is Judge and the new GM having the same vision for the franchise, so this is a multi-day process as Giants owners determines Judge's fate for next season, Garafolo added. Garafolo also reported Judge met with players and urged them to stay out of trouble and get in the right shape physically and mentally for next season. The search for Gettleman's replacement has already begun, with Titans vice president of player personnel Ryan Cowden, Titans director of player personnel Monti Ossenfort, Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen, 49ers assistant GM Adam Peters, 49ers director of player personnel Ran Carthon and Cardinals VP of pro personnel Adrian Wilson having drawn interview requests. Following New York's 4-13 showing, Judge is 10-23 in two seasons with the club. He began his tenure in 2020 with a five-game losing streak and ended the 2021 season on a six-game skid. Since taking over the Giants, Judge's teams have averaged an NFL-worst 16.3 points per game. Jason Garrett was fired as offensive coordinator after Week 11 of the 2021 season, but the offense went from averaging 18.9 points per game to a dead-last 9.9. Defense has at times been a point of promise for Judge, who was previously a special teams coordinator with the Patriots, but still has ranked just 17th overall since 2020. Three head coaches were fired on Monday -- Brian Flores with the Dolphins, Matt Nagy with the Bears and Mike Zimmer with the Vikings -- and they each had better records in 2020 and 2021 than Judge. Thus, the jury is still out as to whether Judge will be back for a third season at the helm of the Giants. https://www.nfl.com/news/no-conclusive-indication-joe-judge-will-return-as-giants-hc-in-2022
  10. Smoke and mirrors. They have their minds made up on someone in-house. They're just teasing us with these other names.
  11. https://www.nfl.com/news/ranking-nfl-head-coach-openings-which-job-is-most-enticing#:~:text=New York Giants, home run hire. New York Giants 2021 record: 4-13 Just a few weeks ago, it seemed nearly certain that Joe Judge would return, even with general manager Dave Gettleman's impending retirement, which became official on Monday. The Giants did not want to fire a third coach in a row after just two years. But, the G-Men were embarrassed in the last six games of the season, losing all six by a combined tally of 163-56, scoring an average of 9.3 points per game, and Judge has had to address his own status in recent weeks. If Judge goes, the next coach has a lot to sort through. Does he believe in Daniel Jones? Saquon Barkley? Got any ideas about the offensive line? All of that with a new general manager, who will have two top-10 draft picks but a less-than-ideal cap situation to work with. The Giants have long been viewed as one of the gold-standard franchises in the NFL, but they are at their lowest point since the pre-Parcells days of the 1970s. What kind of coach do they need? A home run hire.

  14. Pick 5 New York Giants 4-13 · .536 Biggest needs: OL, Edge, TE DP: The Giants head into the offseason loaded with draft capital, including two of the top seven picks. If they focus on the offensive line and pass rush, and hit on those selections, the G-Men could cure what ails them in the trenches in short order.
  15. I'm hoping I wake up tomorrow and NFL.com has a headline that reads: "Sub sinks in NY-Giants fire Joey Headsets"
  16. Both 1st round picks should be traded for more/future picks. This isn't the draft to build a team from. Plus, if the rumors are true and we promote Abrahms and keep Judge, what's the point in picking twice in the top 10? They'll just blow it up next year. We need to invest heavily in a rebuild of the future. There's no quick fix. Cut/trade whatever you can for 2023-2024. And I already expect to write off the 2022 season as a loss.
