  1. Sori's not getting away with shit the he did under Showalter and Torre. Robi even benched him for not hustling out of he box. Good going! BTW, Sori might be a high error guy, but he's nowhere near the worst in the history of he game.
  2. If George decided to trade one, who would you pick?

    WTF

The Mets are basically stuck there in the minor leagues, yet they have more unputs than we do. Get with it, guys. Maybe we need more controversy.
  4. Mariano made Sanders look sick on fast balls yesterday. So what does Chacon throw him? A fucking breaking ball.
  5. This is an area where the Mets have been weak in the past and have to improve. A 500 season on the road should put them in the play offs.
  6. Never underestimate the resiliency of youth. Cabrera didn't break, and niether will Hughes. Bring him on. It would be nice to see a Yankee retire with 300 wins or 3000 hits for a change.
  7. If it was another organization, he'd be learning his trade in the majors.
  8. What happened to the 1000 runs we were going to score this year?
  9. I never had any doubt. Tis said that's the one record that'll never be broken.

    Beltran

The Mets' fans do boo a llittle too quickly at times, but he earned most of those boos because of the let down he provided all of last year. He should have answered the call.

    SNY blues

I finally got SNY on Directv in NJ. I guess if you're out of area, you'll have to get the baseball package. As it is, I now get the Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox.
  12. Jeter and Cano flubbed, but what the hell, shit happens. The bad part was Wang having a brain fart after Jeter's error.
  13. No. Manny's a total klutz. While Matsui may be below average, he's still two notches above Manny.
  14. Yeah, that sucked, too. Mo was already warmed up, so they should have used him. Proctor's not a reliever. The plans were to put him in the minors and teach him to start. I don't know what happened to that.
  15. That's not what I meant by 'discuss'.
  16. Save that stuff for the back end of the line up. You're taking away what might be the best one/two punch in baseball. Besides, you're giving up an out only to have Mr. Clutch go down in strikes. Discuss.
  17. 1000 runs don't seem that far fetched with that line up. But then again, we usually do good against Zito. Now we get Harden and Haren, and then Mike Scioscia's boys.
  18. WTF, everybody getting this game but me?
  19. How's the rest of their bullpen?
  20. Phillies second and Atlanta third. Possible if Reyes stays healthy and gets on base more. They have a better stopper in Wagner, and what looks like a better starting rotation... if Bannister comes through. Phillies look good, too, if they don't ask too much of Gordon. Hard to bet against Atlanta though.
  21. Damon lines a single through the left side. Jeter sacrifices him to second. Rodiquez strikes out. :brooding:
  22. I don't see the concern. We don't have a great starting corp, but I'm beginning to like what I see. (I just don't understand why Chacon has to fight for a spot. ) If our pitchers falter, we have a couple of good, young arms in Columbus.
  23. He made a couple of mistakes early and got away with them, and then hung a slider and got burned. But overall, he mixed up his pitches nicely and kept his fast ball away from the middle of the plate. I just read in the paper that he'll be going up north with the team, and that is not good if they're planning on using him in relief. The original plan was to train him as a starter in Columbus. He's a complete wash as a reliever.
  24. Oh, yeah! If he can keep that slider going, it's going to be Cy Young for that dude. The problem is his pitch counts. Stike outs raise them, and he's too old for that.
  25. Since Sori agreed to play the OF, it no longer matters, but you did fail to mention he his 104 rbi’s and the fact that he will bolster your lineup, making it hard to pitch around other hitters. Sure, he’s not a great fielder, but he’s certainly better than your alternative, and he’s there to play every day. My main concern about Sori was his lack of hustle out of the box too often, but I would blame that on the manager. As far as his defense goes, he’s not as bad as you read in the papers. You’ll also read in the paper that Jeter is underrated. For all the flubs Sori makes, he also makes some good ones. I never heard Torre or the other Yankees complain about him. Trade Wright for him? I’m sure the Mets aren’t that dumb, or maybe I shouldn’t be so sure. I still remember the Kaz for Sambrano trade. How about trading Diaz, and unloading Matsui, and then getting another Japanese player for the Japanese market?
