    Not fair

I almost forgot. Sparky Lyle for an aging Danny Cater. Ouch!
  2. A-Rod did have a good game last night for a change. Besides, the stands were pretty much empty by then, so the pressure wasn't so great.
  3. Down through the years, aging sluggers have been known to help us win pennants. As far as high priced, I'm not sure if George will do a bidding war. Blunatic says he'll more than likely stay on the west coast, and I'm inclined to agree with him.

    Posada

The guy has been pretty durable for ten years but is now succumbing to the spoils of the position. Where oh where do we find a replacement?
  5. Before you put it down, study it. You have a line up with an OBP of about .370 with enough power to give any pitching staff ulcers. And Bernie, because of his desire to get into the Yankee record books, will come back if he's capable.
  6. Bernie's heating up and getting clutch hits like he used to when he carried the Yanks for a couple of months out of the year.
  7. Victorino was stated as the hero of that game, but face the facts. If Rowand was playing center, he would have caught the drive by Floyd, and the Mets would have been shut out.
  8. Damon CF Jeter SS Bonds LF/Dh A-Rod 3rd base Giambi 1st base/DH Matsui LF/DH Bernie OF/DH Posada C Cabrera RF Cano 2nd base 1200 runs Hey, we hated Damon, Clemens, and Boggs, too. But they look/looked pretty good in a Yanks uniform.
  9. I rooted for the Mets before most of all y'all were born. Before them, your traitorous Giants were my favorite NL team. I'm sorry if I have the mental capacity to hit on more than one team.
  10. Right! But most NY area Yankee fans call the Mets their favorite NL team. It's just that it's not too often they give us anything to cheer about.
  11. For the tickets he's sell, George will allow him to set up camp in his office. Btw, I'll take him. Lots of runs, and he can play the field a couple of times a week. There are a lot of players we haven't even heard about that took the roids. Our OF: Melky Bernie or Crosby Bonds Damon Matsui Shef adios.
  12. 37, 40, 62... doesn't matter. Good trade!
  13. He can no longer play every day in the NL, and he wants the record. I seriiously doubt if Boston would try to outbid us since they have Ortiz, and the short porch in right would entice Bonds.
  14. Base hit by Jeter? That was poor fielding. A-Rod would have had that. And next time you throw Heilman at us, he'll walk back to the dugout crying.
  15. You won yesterday's game by two pitches, two fat fastballs that Small had no business throwing. Take them away and you were shut out. And leave A-Rod alone. He's just off to a slow start. Very slow.
  16. I don't have any opinion of Durazo over Phillips, but I wouldn't mind Hidalgo for our bench.
  17. He was okay when Rizzuto was in the booth with him.
  18. Get it out of your head, you are not better than the Yankees. This past weekend was merely a fluke as we were looking ahead to the Boston series.
  19. I suppose time will tell, but right now, trading away Kazmir for Zambrano is looking worse than trading away Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi.
  20. Yeah, I was surprised to see Wags come in, too. And then he throws nothing but fast balls when he made the Yankees look sick on sliders the night before. Hey, we gave you one Friday, and you give it back yesterday.
  21. No, that's not what I do. It's what Mazzilli and Torre does. Then they don't learn the first day, they have to go out and get burned again. The Yankees started playing Bernie shallow a couple of years ago to make up for his weak arm, and I thought that was pure BS then.
  22. Yep! Maybe he just had to get the kinks out.
  23. Let's see! Last night, Damon plays shallow and Wright hits one over his head for a game winner. Today, Damon plays shallow and Wright hits an RBI double. Yeah, I know they play him shallow because of his arm, but he can't throw a runner out at home anyway, maybe not even from 2nd base. Is this Mazzilli or Joey 4 rings?
