  1. I dont think the fans should be so hung up on signing Lavar to improve our attitude. If we do great, but he isnt the only way to improve our attitude on D. Lavar isnt worth a contract similar to Petersons, hell Peterson isnt even worth that. If thats what he's asking, forget about it.
  2. I agree, I think a 4th or 5th wont be enough for Green Bay. I dont care if he is threatening to retire or not, if any one of the other 32 teams found out thats all Green Bay wanted Im positive there would be a few that would offer more, such as a 3rd round pick maybe even a late 2nd. I dont think Green Bay would release him because they are in a very good cap situation to just sit on this. Sure they could use the extra pick but for a 4th? I dont think so.
  3. We definitely need a attitude on defense but Lavar isnt the only way to go about it. Especially if he is asking for a contract like Peterson.
  4. wow, Seattle seriously overpaid for him. If Arrington is asking that much, forget that.

    MATCH UPS

It may be a little early for this "comparison" of teams. But honestly I disagree with a lot of that, most of which has already been noted. The most noteable being the Giants having a better LB corps then the Cowboys.
  6. Although I think an experienced vet is more of what we need for Eli, McMahon would be a very good backup to Eli. Before his signing with the Eagles I thought McMahon should have been going somewhere where he could compete for a starting job. He didnt impress me much last season but honestly look at the offense he was playing with. McMahon was a star for Rutgers and I would really like for him to be playing with the Giants. He is definitely an upgrade over Lorenzen and would be a nice step for improving the depth at QB.
  7. We wouldnt be making a mistake with selecting either one of these three guys. IMO Bunkley will not be around at 25, if we want him will have to trade up. He's the one player I would love to trade up for. Sims and Cromartie will both be selected in the 20's. I think both have a very good chance at being around come 25. If Sims is gone, Greenway has a very good chance he will be there. Now Ive made it known where I stand as far as Sims goes in other threads. I really like Sims and feel he is the best WLB we can select in the first round.
  8. Philly and Dallas actually had a trade in the works but Philly backed out at the last minute hoping T.O. would sign elsewhere. I think this makes the Cowboys a very lethal team. Just by reading this thread I dont think enough Giants fans give enough credit to Bledsoe or T.O or even Parcells for that matter. Now personally I cant stand T.O. but the impact he makes on the field is remarkable. As I said in another post recently Bledsoe did not have time this past season. People seemed to forget he was without his franchise LT and a rookie starting a RT. They also dont realize he had two #2 wideouts, a good TE and thats it. Now the Cowboys have a legitiment game changer at WR, a true number 1. They have brought in Fabini to play RT and Adams will return at LT, they even brought in very good depth with Kosier, who might even end up being a starter. For me, as of right now, I feel the Cowboys are much more of an actual threat then the Redskins. As long as the Redskins have Brunell at QB I think they are limited.
  9. Two days ago thats what was being reported. That was before a few of the players confronted managment about not wanting T.O.
  10. He wont get 3.5 million a year from us. I like him a lot as a player but he isnt worth 3.5 a year.
  11. Brees will be throwing by the end of April.
  12. I cant say im thrilled, I thought we could have done better then Demps. Im seriously hoping we dont think we are getting the Antoino Pierce of the safeties. Although Demps is an upgrade over Alexander, we needed speed and more of a playmaker in the secondary. Demps is not that, he's just an ok player. To be honest, I would have rather went with the inexperienced rookie and James Butler. But I cant complain about the contract, another decent signing for an experienced vet.
  13. Pete seriously, you are getting this info from a poster who claims he gets phone calls from someone close to the Giants. He has no credit to his name what so ever, it does not deserve to be passed on as reliable information.
  14. If they are targeting any of the QBs they will have to get in at 6th or higher. I dont think any of the top 3 will fall past 7. Sitting at 17 that might not be too easy. Right now I think its either the Jets or Oakland.
  15. Keyshawn wont fit here. He's better off in a place like New England.
  16. Saints | More about Brees' contract Tue, 14 Mar 2006 17:51:52 -0800 ESPN.com's John Clayton reports New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees' six-year, $60 million contract actually included a signing bonus of $8 million and a $2 million base salary for 2006. The contract includes a $12 million option bonus due next spring and a base salary of $3 million for 2007.
  17. 4 teams have already shown alot of interest in T.O. Dallas Miami Kansas City Denver Miami are considered the front runners as of right now. Kansas City is only offering an incentive based contract, Drew doesnt want that. Dallas cut Keyshawn with the intentions of signing T.O.
  18. “Coach Coughlin was also a big contributing factor in me signing there. He’s a hard worker, a dedicated worker, and he loves to win. When I put all the pieces of the puzzle together, there was no other place for me to visit, or even think about going to. I wanted to play for the New York Football Giants.” -- Sam Madison
  19. Clayton said this morning if the Saints were to sign Brees they would look to trade down. Obviously that would be the best option but they might not find a suitor. Clayton mentioned the possiblility of drafting Mario because he is the best defensive option. The Saints have Will Smith and Charles Grant they dont need Mario, I think here is were BPA shouldnt factor in but it might. The BPA on their list could still be Matt Lienart or D'Brick, I dont think its Mario. I actually think Hawk and Ngata might be higher on their list then Mario. Im not trying to say Mario isnt deserving of the pick but being this high BPA doesnt factor in as much because you are going to get a great prospect. I think it should come down to D'Brick, Hawk, or Lienart.
  20. First move by Detriot you agree on? They have brought in very good coaches and signed Dan Campbell today. I dont know how you cant agree with any of those moves.
  21. Dallas has a 7:00 press conference. Nobody knows why yet. They have also released Keyshawn Johnson. T.O. could very well end up in Dallas as soon as today. Kansas City is the other place he might end up.
  22. Of course his best years are behind him but he can still make all the passes. If you watched any Dallas games you would know. My twin brother happens to be a Cowboys fan, I've seen plenty of the Cowboys. Bledsoe was sacked 50 times this season, 4th most in the NFL. In the 6 games that Adams played in the team gave up 13 sacks. In the remaining 10 games they gave up 37 sacks. They went from averaging about 2 sacks a game to just about 4. Also they kept in Campbell nearly all the time to block. Bledsoe only had Keyshawn, Glenn, and Witten as recievers. Thats not taking into account that his two starting recievers are #2s at best. He still managed to put up 3600 yards at a 60 completion %. 23 TDs to 17 INTs and an 83.7 QB rating.
  23. His experience and versatility are his greatest assets. McQuarters or R-dub whichever you go by had a pretty decent season last year. We signed him to a fair contract. So far we have had a pretty good start to improving a poor secondary. Madison and McQuaters give us two players with starting NFL experience. R-Dub was actually among the team leaders in tackles as well as helping Detriot rank 9th vs the pass.
