Snacks IS a pro-bowl type player and he wasn't being paid like one. His contract was pretty damn reasonable. Then we used a higher draft pick than we got for him to replace him with the same kind of player who probably won't be as good.

That's my take on it too. He said he'd already watched tape on the kid but wanted to see him play live. And I doubt he left the game after 3 series either.

Eli was a consensus top draft pick though, ranked like #1 - #3 on most boards in a historic year for QB prospects. Jones was a 2nd rounder in a weak class.
