  1. "Maye’s EPA/dropback on plays when he goes outside of the pocket this past year wasn’t great. At minus-0.02, he ranks sixth in this class and is the only QB (of the 6in 1st round contention) on the wrong side of zero. I’m not sure if this is a product of a mediocre supporting cast, but it doesn’t pass the eye test for me considering Maye’s athletic prowess. You don’t need to live outside of the pocket in the NFL, but if you’re not going to have success when you’re forced to move off your spot, I don’t like your chances long-term." That, and watching him absolutely sail some passes during his Pro Day, missing the receiver by a mile. Those are unpressured, uncovered, rehearsed throws. I don't know how a 63% completion rate gets you #2 over-all hype.
  2. Per NFL regulations, the hip-drop tackle “occurs when a defender wraps up a ball carrier and rotates or swivels his hips, unweighting himself and dropping onto the ball carrier's legs during the tackle.” Hips don't lie.
  3. He'd be a Hooker or Prop in rugby, after you took some of that baby fat off him anyway.
  4. It's not a rugby technique at all, it's just lazy technique. Here's what we train: Tackle from behind Chase the ball carrier until within tackling distance Wrap the arms around the hips/legs of the ball carrier With the head to the side, make contact with the shoulder and pull the arms inward Squeeze the arms tight and slide down the ball carrier’s body (remembering to keep the head to one side) until the ball carrier is taken to the floor and finish on top
  5. I mean there is...not sure you'd like it though.
  6. They come off as gaping assholes.
  7. I'm pretty sure that's not how the OL gradings work. They rate whether they did their assignment for each snap. If the QB is too slow it will affect their grade, not the OLine.
  8. Dude... PFF Grades last week: Pass Block 54.1, Defense 69.1, T. Taylor 67.9 (73.2 Pass, 49.0 Run) PFF Grades vs Miami: Pass Block 16.9, Defense 56.4, D. Jones 87.1 (78.6 Pass, 82.5 Run)
  9. I didn't know that either until someone mentioned it on Reddit. Here's his draft profile: Ezeudu (pronounced eh-ZOO-do) played in one game as a reserve his first year on campus but remained off the field the rest of the year to retain eligibility. He then started seven of 13 appearances as a redshirt freshman the next season (two at left tackle, five at left guard). Ezeudu missed the first two games of 2020 with a lower-body injury but still played well enough in his 10 starts (three at right tackle, seven at left guard) to receive third-team All-ACC accolades from league coaches. He was an honorable mention all-conference pick in 2021, starting nine games at left guard and two at left tackle. -- by Chad Reuter
  10. Ezedzu got put at T (which he played quite a bit in college) because he's actually better than Peart, who's supposed to be the back-up T. We have literally no depth.
  11. For what it's worth, Jones' PFF grade was like 87 this week. It's hard to look good when you're taking 6+ sacks per game. Our Pass Block rating was an astounding 11.6. (PFF grading starts at 50 the adds or subtracts for each play)
  12. Don't forget, there's no "probable" status anymore. "Questionable" could mean very minor issues with every expectation of playing. From the sounds of it he'll play but they may limit his snaps.
  13. Game one of my parley came in! Thanks Dan!
  14. LB play was awful. I expect it to be better with Okereke in there.
  15. He was pretty ass in his first year, turned it on in year 2.
  16. Schoen is stacking the roster with >9 RAS guys.
  17. Looking at the Passer Rating formula you could just spike the ball every down and still get that 39.6 rating.
  18. Best part is the Cards have already paid most of his salary this season. We'll only owe him $1.01M.
  19. 4) An Isaiah Simmons pick-6 and total validation of Schoen's wizardry.
  20. He's progressed to non-contact participation. Must have been a decent knock to keep him out for over a week.
  21. Rik! are you still in Vegas? I was just kicking around plans to go to the Giants @ Raiders game Nov 2nd.
  22. That's all I need. See you guys in September.
