I guess you can't blame the current training and medical staff...they weren't hired until January.

But the yankees history with players injuries is awful. They seem to wait too long to have their players diagnosed and operated on.

It wouldn't have mattered with severino this year....he would still be out for all of 2020...but he got hurt in the playoffs...had pain all offseason and didn't catch the tear until 2 weeks into spring training? Sheesh

So...Stanton, Sevino, Paxon and Judge (Shoulder)

You know...there is such a thing as being ...too fit.

Screen%2BShot%2B2015-01-11%2Bat%2B5.27.44%2BPM.png

Between 1919 and 1934...Had only one season where he didnt get in 100 games (98) and averaged 145 a year.

The man played 100% day games on shit fields in wool uniforms...with a hangover and virtually every STI there is have the Beast.

He never strained a calf muscle ...

Because he didnt fucking have a calf muscle.

I don’t know a thing about working out or physical fitness or being a top notch athlete.

the last time I played baseball was 12 years ago.. I played in the mbl league in Manhattan/Bronx/Brooklyn/Queens....AA division. Filled with former professional ball players and/or college studs some guys even spent time in the show. Guys throw 90 plus with filthy breaking balls. Wooden bats only.

5th game of the year...I’m facing a tough lefty that played in the pirates organization. I hate lefty’s to begin with...one because I am left handed and you don’t see them much. The first pitch he locks me up with a sick curveball. Threw it again for a ball. Then another for a ball. I knew what was coming next. I barreled up a fastball. But there was rain earlier that day and my spikes got caught in the muddy dirt in the batters box. I felt my knee pop out and move..then another pop and I was on the ground screaming...dislocated knees and torn mcl.

i haven’t played since.

so if these guys can get hurt...even in their physical condition, I feel bad for them.

they want to be out there...shit happens

I think with a guy like Stanton...who is a specimen...they get so fine tuned...so ripped...that they got more shit to tweet...tear...strain...etc.

Every once and a while when he wants to go for a 10 mile run with a weighted vest on...he should grab a beer and a Marboro.

Judge is a injury concern...he has only played one full season. He has missed significant time with an array of different ailments. Now Stanton caught whatever judge has. He was a pretty healthy player on the Marlins. He only missed significant tims when fiers hit him in the face.

Now he isn't going to start the season healthy...who knows what's wrong. He has been feeling it since January. Again the yankees wait forever to have their players tested wheb they complain of a possible injury. I bet he needs surgery and will miss the entire season...or its something catastrophic....like cancer...which would be devastating for everyone. Fuck baseball...hes a good person and that would be very very heartbreaking for everybody.1

The Yankees have a plethora of hard throwing right handers. Their bullpen will be all homegrown soon.

And they have a ton of offensive depth . Especially on the outfield.

They seem unbeatable right now. Happy they got off to a good start cause with only 60 games, you can. Be out of it by the third week

I am so fucking glad you are around to talk about it too James.

Boone has the right rotation going with the players ...just leave La Machine and Judge at 1 and 3...get Torres going and it off to the fucking races...giving the ball to the best righthander in baseball every fourth day.

I don't get it

I'm 43 years old. I'm 6'2. I weigh and anemic 159 pounds. I'm in awful overall health, especially for a Man my age... And I can swing a fucking bat.

You're telling me that judge and Stanton.... physical specimen, in their 20's can't swing a bat because their hamstring hurt or their core is sore?

Get the fuck out of here

They talk about these guys like they're some 104 year old geriatric great grandfather

Some guys, while they have incredible ability when healthy, just break easily.

I don't get it....there might be a thing as being too muscle bound.

Judges was screaming to be back on the roster 4 days into this.....I have to assume its the money.....they invest dough in these guys so you you don't play through an injury and risk a longer fuck up.

Shit Mantle and Tony Oliva played most of their careers on one...sometimes no legs because they ran then out there when they were young if they had a pulse.

No way. These guys are either already paid and have other interests they want to indulge in. Or they are showing what they can do at an early stage of their careers then sitting out often with made up or trivial injures  so they stay fresh,( especially true for pitchers) then have a healthy walk year where they put up phenomenal numbers

Well this awful season is pretty much over for the Yankees.

I see it as the Yankees have imploded to the point of no return.

Just play all the youngsters that either have no chance of making the team next year, or the guys like Garcia and Schmidt, Wade, Holder, Gittens et cetera who need to get their feet wet in the majors

Like 2016, I'd do exactly what they did that year.

More than half the starters are hurt. No need to get them hurt more and have them lost for 2021. Or guys like le machine who need to be extended lost for spring training next year

Only silver lining is that voit has shown he is no fluke and arguably the best first baseman in baseball not named Paul or Freddie

I was trying to think of the last time the Yanks dropped a series or got swept in a Double Header....let alone back to back series......

Fucking 99 is out ...AGAIN. This guy is bleeding out dollar bills on his his resigning.

They have to keep Le Mehieus...and Torres.....period. It is too hard to win when either is out...and both out...fuck me......

Sanchez needs to DH more....he is a pitcher killer behind the plate...he NEVER gets a call back there.

I am officially done with Stanton.....worst signing since...Ellsbury. Yeah...I said it.... Eat half his contract and ship him to the  Cubs for one of their swiss army knife utility guys that can hit. ...Stanton is that disappointing.

More baseball players and fewer soft ballplayers.....

It's very odd with Stanton. Makes me question the Yankees training regimen or what they allow players to do and not to do. In any type of physical exercise/activity.

Especially since it's a lot of players who never were fragile until they put on the pinstripes.

Stanton played like 150 games a year...every year... except the year he was hit in the face....when he was with the Marlin's.

Was healthy his first year with the Yanks...and in his second year...he is out all the time and now again

You have to question the training staff.

It could all be coincidental and it probably is.....or maybe it isn't?

It's a legitimate concern at this point. And they retooled their training staff last year. Has to be something that the Yankees have their players do. Maybe too much of one thing and not enough of another? No idea..but I smell fish
