LOL... that route was so generic... it was just the right call at the right time, nothing special about it.

Hold on a second. Isn't the right call at the right time what every team tries to do. It wouldn't be special if they could do it all the time now would it?. Why doesn't every team call that play when they are inside the 20?. According to you, it's money every time. Needless to say if David Tyree is out there, he does the exact same thing.

Eli and Plaxico were practicing the exact same play in practice, for them to execute it on the last drive of the superbowl to win the superbowl is pretty special. Like it or not, Burress actually played well with eli out there.

It's always amazing to watch guys downplay our performances as the years go on.

you simplify it a lot. that play was set up by a few other plays during the game. leaving plax in single coverage doesn't just happen. and, the prowess of plax puts a great deal of stress on the defender. they made it look simple, yes. but all the great ones do.

Someone is demonstrating a talent for missing the point.

Which is... a route that high school teams run is not a "design play specifically drawn up for plaxico".

Its amazing to watch guys pretend the ordinary is legendary as the years go on.

If anything, give credit on that play to Kevin Gilbride, who made the call, or the offensive line, which held off an all out blitz. After that, yeah, almost any WR can make that play.

blunatic, thats why I go to Gilbride as the hero there, because you're right, leaving Plaxico in single coverage doesn't just happen.

Agreed... that play was won at the trenches. Plaxico catching the ball was ordinary.
