Balloonknot
I guess he has more chance to step in and Replace Alex Smith if he falters than he does here behind Eli. Damn shame the Texans ruined him

Damn shame the Texans ruined him You make a good point. How many QBs have seen their careers ruined by teams thinking just getting a good QB can change their offense? Just like a defense can't work without a functioning front line no way a QB can survive no matter how good he is without a line to protect him. K3VIN
he had the chance to be pretty good. he threw for 68 completion rate his last year with the texans when the finally could protect him but even then his head was still rattling around from all the hits he took

Treehugger
i dont think we did They could have slapped a low round tender on him rather than just let him walk away.
CrazedDogs
They could have slapped a low round tender on him rather than just let him walk away. I think you can only do that with players with less than five years in the league. Something like that.
Lubeck
You can only apply a tender to a RFA. With the uncapped year players need 6 years of time in the league to no longer be a RFA. Carr definitely had enough time in.
