BleedinBlue
I think the reason the Steinbrenners want to get their salary down is because of the luxury tax rule based on teams salary after last year when the Yanks had to hand out 22 million dollars to the other teams simply because of their team salary. You can pick up a pretty good player or two for 22 million per. Regardless, giving money for the relief in Haiti will not force the Yankees to hand out money to all the other teams that don't bother reinvest in their players. Also....besides being a tax break, it's a damn good deed. Every baseball team should pony up the money to help the mess in Haiti.

What you guys really need to consider is whether the baseball plant was damaged as that is where (Haiti) the majority of baseballs are manufacturered. ....ironic ain't it.
