They are definitely going to do something in the next free agency period or trade for a tackle, maybe Anthony Davis. They simply can't go into 2016 with Newhouse at RT. However, we knew that they didn't have enough picks to address every hole on the roster, and they've done a good job of adding talent to both sides of the ball.

Hopefully the Giants' coaches remember the Coughlin mantra about "high and tight", Perkins needs to work on that.

OK, so combine results, put up a respectable 19 reps on the bench, 4.54 40 time... same as Derrick Henry and faster than Kenneth Dixon, tied for 11th at his position. 10'4" broad jump, really outstanding, 4th best among his position. Only a 32" vertical, though, that was kind of strange for as far as he jumped. So, very good athlete, I like the pick, and in the 5th round, great value for good RB's that I thought would go a round earlier.

Best thing about this highlight video is the music... no rap for once, lol.

I've seen him, I think Sandland is a lot more athletic for his size than Braunecker. I thought Braunecker moves a little stiff, to be honest.

OT Kyle Murphy from Stanford, maybe the last draftable tackle in this class, probably won't be able to start right away but could be a good developmental tackle, good program that coaches O-linemen really well.

Where do you get that from? I have not heard that as a liability for him.

Couple of other names: OLB Eric Striker, OK DE Alex McCallister, Florida - 6'6", undersized at 239... needs to add weight, project pass rusher.

OH WAIT... one of my favorite value picks in the draft... I've been pumping this guy up... as Westerman just goes off the board.... BEAU SANDLAND, TE, FROM MONTANA STATE... I'm telling you guys... Remember the Bossman! This guy is my favorite pick for round 6... he tops my wish list.

Another guy to watch for is Devon Cajuste, WR, big boy, insanely fast 3-cone.

If Charone Peake is still available (WR, Clemson), I think you have to take him in the 6th... I thought Peake would come off late in the third, early 4th. A few Guards left that can be looked at in Christian Westerman, Vadal Alexander, and Landon Turner from UNC. Those guys would be good values in the sixth round.

Sy'56's take: 3 – PAUL PERKINS – 5’10/208 – UCLA: 79 Fourth year junior. Team’s leading rusher in the 2014 and 2015 seasons respectively despite battling a nagging knee injury this past fall. Perkins may not have the body or running style to be an every down back, but his ability to make something out of nothing cannot go overlooked. He has the rare, hard to find ability to completely change direction while moving at full speed at anytime. His top end speed and lack of size may limit his touches week in, week out however he is a prime candidate for a committee approach. If he can find an offense that needs someone to offset a between the tackles, chain moving bruiser, Perkins will excel. I have a higher grade on Perkins than what I see out there. He has the kind of talent that can change how an offense approaches thing, which ended up happening at UCLA after 2013. Perkins may not have the ideal situation here in NY because of Vereen’s presence, but NYG hasn’t had a back that can move in and out of traffic like this since the early days of Tiki Barber. He may not be the ideal every down guy, but he is a dangerous playmaker that defenses are afraid to see with the ball in space. Upside Pro Comparison: Lesean McCoy – BUF

Mayock glowed about his pass blocking. I preferred more physical running backs that were still available, but talent-wise, Perkins was right in that group. With the talent that was still available, I was definitely expecting a RB. I really liked Jonathan Williams from Arkansas, Alex Collins from Arkansas a bit less, and Jordan Howard. Williams, without the medical issue, would've been my pick, but the problem with him was he suffered a broken foot and had to have surgery. So Perkins was in this group in terms of talent. Perkins did impress me with his athleticism and movement ability. Sy'56 said he was his 3rd ranked running back, and gave a 2nd round grade on him. Said his upside comp is Lesean McCoy... that is pretty high praise. I'm going to check the numbers again but as I recall, he had a phenomenal combine... this is one of the better athletes at the RB position in this draft. Pass catching ability plus plus, so he can be an every down RB. This is not a reach pick at all, and we'll see. My only question with him was the lack of thickness in the legs, would he be able to withstand the physicality of the NFL long-term. But this is an athlete out of the backfield that is tools-rich.

For Joe, this is Goodson against Florida State, who features one of the best RB's in the country in Dalvin Cook, and a 5-star football program (Go 'Noles!). Clemson punched Florida State in the mouth last year. So here's the video and I broke Goodson down for you in this game, with some good and some bad (mostly good, though): 0:13 - gets locked up and can't shed the block and get in on the tackle. 0:32 - takes on the TE and takes away his route 0:42 - gets a little stuck negotiating the wash, doesn't get to the spot to make the play on the RB. (Dalvin Cook is one of the fastest RBs through the hole in football, at any level) 0:56 - defeats the block, puts the hit on the RB, BOOM, it's game over immediately 1:03 - diagnoses, gets outside without overrunning the play, takes away the cutback, locks on to the receiver and takes him down for a loss. 1:33 - gets off the block, stays with the play, and inserts himself into the gang tackle 1:44 - tosses the center's block attempt off like a sack of potatoes, puts the hit on the big RB, gets him on the ground, solo tackle. If you hated Leonard Floyd's arm tackles, you will love Goodson. He is the anti-Floyd when it comes to hitting people. 1:56 - A little difficult to see because he goes off screen, but maybe could've gotten a little deeper in his drop to take away the passing lane near the seam, however, it looks like he was playing the other receiver, hard play to assess without the All-22. 2:06 - gets combo-blocked, look at the leg drive again... stays stout at the POA, and splits the blockers. 2:23 - times the blitz, gets wiped out by the fullback, still makes the play in the backfield. 3:58 - sticks his nose in the pile and pushes it back with leg drive. 4:30 - sees the play before anyone else, beats the block and gets the tackle. Late in the 4th quarter aggressiveness and pursuit. 5:07 - gift fumble recovery - "right place, right time" What do you call a guy who always seems like they are in the right place and right time? A guy always in on the action? It's called someone with good football instincts, toughness, not afraid to get in and be physical. This is a linebacker's linebacker. NFL body right now. He's a future starter at MLB, and he'll be the guy making all the calls. Watch it happen... Antonio Pierce with a little more thickness, maybe a bit more movement ability. Knows his responsibilities, "football IQ". Best pick in the draft so far in terms of value.

Most hilarious part of the draft... Willie Beavers gets selected, Mayock says, "Now, Rich, I'm a Beavers guy." The panel starts snickering and chuckles, and pull it back together... seconds later, very next pick, Bears take Deion Bush... now they are REALLY trying to hold it together, when Mayock says, "Bush caught my eye at the East-West game..." AAAAND it's all over, they all losing it. Throw to break, Rich says when the come back, that they've collected themselves, but, "If the next guys is named Johnson I'm walking out of here." LOL.

Joe, get excited, buddy... this makes the defense better.

For a guy that is a late 2nd or 3rd round talent. The FO is killing this draft, Joe. I love this pick... this is the meat of the draft. There were just too many players graded similarly... that's why you still have 2nd round-talent RB's on the board.

Scooby Wright will probably not be drafted according to what I've read... but I'm not going to try and say I know for sure because I haven't really looked at any games of Scooby's. But from what I read he's close to a non-prospect. Goodson was the captain, team leader, lead tackler, on a very good Clemson defense that played Alabama pretty tough, a lot tougher game then I think most people were expecting. I really like Goodson, I think he can start for us early at MLB and be a fixture there for a long time, and love that he's a team captain. This is a homerun in the 4th and was one of the players I really liked that were still available.
