  1. i just don't see a pressing need unless we go ot
  2. i couldn't possibly agree any more. eli sounds like a bitch. i mean there's all the comparisons to other top qb's drafted, but i tell you this. all of those guys go to shit teams with no talent. eli was drafted to a team that had an awful year, but had a pro bowl rb, te and arguably wr. i have defended and made excuses for this guy non stop, but i'm getting tired of it. eli was a number 1 pick, he shunned the team that drafted him, and he should be better than he has to this point. i haven't given up on him, by any means, but this guy better step it up this year, and i mean pro bowl level. if he does not, then it will be certain to me, that he will never ever be a top qb, and the best, i mean absolute best scenario i could hope for is for eli to be simms like, which i don't even know if he will. i don't care if shockey and plax are the biggest @ssholes in the world, at least they perform, which is all i care about. who cares if they're not nice people, it's not like they're getting arrested. this is football people, so eli should worry about getting better, acting like a man, and improving his game, instead of calling out his recievers, cause they don't want to workout with him. it's obvious, their regimen seems to be working better.....
  3. I Don't buy that for a second...i don't care about any articles etc. if the giants don't draft defense, they have absolutely no clue, and anyone who thinks wr is a need over a defensive position, i have no respect for your knowledge of football or the new york giants. who cares about a 3rd f*ckin wideout? we already have plax toomer and shockey...seriously how many balls does our 3rd wr catch 5? we need either a lb or cb right away. we should be drafting d in the first 3 rounds. the defense last year was the absolute worst i have ever seen on a giants team, and while some of that can be attributed to lewis yes, we need some guys who can play.
  4. what is jimmy rollins doing?...god that guy is buckling gotta love that Ggirl!!!
  5. yeahhh baby 6-5...phils pen is attrocious!!!
  6. man, i couldn't ask for a better start to the season! now, i'm sure we won't be pitching lights out every game obviously, but i think our staff is going to be a lot better than people think. it kind of reminds me of the bullpen last year. nobody thought it was going to be that good going into the season and look what happened. maine will be solid, and if either perez or pelfrey can surpise this season, i think all these experts are in for a rude awakening! btw, john maine was a fuckin steal of the century! what a trade...kris benson for maine and el duque....can you say hijack!

    B-U-S-?

i don't understand why everyone is having a tough time being PATIENT...ok, so eli isn't torching the league right away. he's not as good as carson palmer, i get that, but he is not a bad QB at this point.. that doesn't mean that he will not be an elite qb in the future. it takes lots of guys a while to become acclimated to the point that they catapult themselves into that elite level. donovan mcnabb was getting a lot of shit his first couple of years if i remember correctly. the point is eli will never be considered a bust. some of you guys throw that term around way too easily. joey harrington was a bust. ryan leaf was a bust. eli is not...while he may never live up to his hype, he will never be considered a bust. he has been improving steadily over the years as lemmiwinks has already pointed out. there's no reason to think he won't continue to do so.
  8. i disagree here...i think the giants would love briggs, but i don't see them making a deal in which they get robbed again *cough* eli....however chicago i think is in a no win situation. they can ask whatever they want for briggs, however given his willingness at this point to sit out the season, i don't think they're going to get what they want. obviously they are trying to drive the price up, but in the end i think they are gonna have to move him without getting what they want in return....that being said do i think we are gonna get him......no
  9. shit i'd give shawn green up for a roll of toilet paper. he shouldn't be starting. i'd rather give milledge the experience. honestly who cares what he makes? besides the mets only pay 3.8 million of his salary. i don't think theres any way milledge could be any worse than this guy, he should start.
  10. i couldn't agree more. i'd rather have a more balanced lineup and i think wright should be hitting 5th. i mean shawn green loduca and valentin aren't exactly intimidating...hopefully milledge will eventually replace green and help balance this lineup a bit more.
  11. He is a good coach, that has been proven. however, he is not an elite coach, and will more than likely never be. my problem with coughlin is that i don't see him ever taking us deep into the playoffs. the giants had the chance to fire him, but they didn't. i think it was a smart move, as i didn't really see any candidates who were a must get and would have dramatically improved this team. i'd rather wait til next year and make a real effort to bring cowher here. i don't know if he wants to deal with all the publicity, but in my mind, he is the perfect fit for this franchise. he is defensive minded, and likes to run the football. that's what we need to get back to. i feel like i'm beating a dead horse, but until we resort to that style of play, i can't see this team going anywhere.
  12. i disagree with you here blue jeans...a lot of people have been picking atlanta as the surprise team, however i just don't see it. i don't care what they have done in the past and their history. i'm looking at them right now, and i just don't see enough talent to deem them a major contender. if you want to talk about pitching how could even consider the braves over the marlins? the marlins staff is not only young but way more talented than the braves in my opinion. and don't forget dontrelle had an off year. i wouldn't expect that again. couple that with the fact they have some real good young hitters in cabrera, uggla, ramirez. i think they will be better than the braves, but really this is all a moot point as all i really care about is the mets winning this division....2 more days baby!!!!! LETS GO METS!!!!

    The Poz

i think we do have a shot to get him, that is if the bengals don't take him first.
  14. i agree plax, but don't sleep on the phillies. they have a very legitimate shot to win the division. they scare me. i also agree about the fish, i think they could surprise people. i still feel confident like we could beat anybody, but this year we're gonna have to sweat it out probably more than i would like.
  15. yeah...i'm kinda nervous that dirty will never be the same again...i hope i'm wrong.
  16. i think he will be a pro bowl QB, but i'm not sure he'll be a top 5 QB. let's just hope eli doesn't make the giants look like fools and justifies that contract. lemmiwinks, i like your optimism, but i really see the giants taking a step back this year. part of me wants them to fail(don't kill me just yet) b/c i want coughlin out of here. he is a GOOD coach, not a great one, but i can never envision him taking us to the super bowl. i want someone here who will be able to do that. that being said, i hope we come out of nowhere next season, and play our asses off. however, i just think we have to many holes, and i can't see us overcoming them. there is a lot of questions marks on this team right now. to me, eli isn't one of them. he is maturing fine, and i think he will "get it" in the very near future. but until our d is rebuilt, i can't see us doing anything that would make giant fans happy. seriously, i want to have a chance to make the super bowl, and i don't think there is enough talent on this team to do so. so if it takes a garbage season to get coughlin out, and bring someone in who will straighten this team out so be it.
  17. i think reese wants bj to be the #1 back, he just doesn't want him to be worn out late in the game. Theres nothning wrong with having a 2 back system. the game is changing, and many teams are having a lot of success using two backs. i have no problem with this although i really hope we don't sign travis henry, i'd much rather have dominic rhodes to spell BJ.
  18. haha yeah i guess i can't considering our current lb situation. seriously though this would be a great pick up for us. if we somehow got him and clements (which i know we won't) i'd be so damn happy. also take timmons if he falls to us. that would be my absolute ideal situation.
  19. here is the link btw: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2784626
  20. let's pick his ass up immediately. as in right now.
  21. i don't know if i want cato june. he is terrible against the run. i wouldn't be upset if we signed him, but i wouldn't spend big money on him.
  22. i agree with you, he is funny as hell, but it's only a matter of time before he gets canned from sny. some of the stories he tells, while really entertaining and funny, i just can't believe he gets away with telling them on the air. i hope he's around, him and gary cohen and darling all do a pretty good job. hey, it's better than, "what a nice looking man".
