  1. I don't think Jose will be living in Queens much longer.
  2. The Marlin faithful were just chanting " OVER-RATED!!" when Beltran was batting.
  3. I did. Just saw a clip of it on YES. They were going at each other pretty good. Chris Russo is an asshole in my opinion, as is that fat bastard he works with.
  4. Had to be done. Hernandez was great for us last year and should be able to fill Sanchez's role. He's not as good as Sanchez, but he's very solid and he had the same role for the Mets last year. Perez is a young, hard throwing lefty. Every team wants one of those. He's struggled, but who knows, maybe he can turn it around. I will miss Nady, but I don't think the Mets lose much if they go with a Chavez/Milledge platoon. All they are really losing is a little power. It's the perfect time to give Milledge extended playing time and see what he can really do. Both are defensive upgrades over Nady. I think it was a good deal considering the situation. Hernandez will not let you down, I promise!!
  5. Look at Jeter's career stats. While I'm not suggesting he is a "slugger", his power numbers are down. Seems like he has "willingly" changed his role a little at the plate to better his team to me.
  6. Hell, why not???!!! The guy is 36 years old, was supposed to be a bench player but has filled the hole at 2nd base nicely and has had a number of clutch hits and nice plays at second!!!! You da man Jose!! Good job!!! .286 avg. 11 HR in 243 AB 43 RBI 2 grand slams not bad for a 36 year old "bench player" with a .243 lifetime average
  7. Last year I thought Beltran was the biggest bust in Mets history. He has shut me up. What a season he is having. I was hoping for alot more out of him than what he did last year, but 30 homers and 89 rbi at the end of July is way more than I expected. Willie Randolph said last night that he thinks he can still be better !!
  8. At the start of the season Chavez looked terrible and I was cursing him out everytime he failed, but damn has he shut me up. This guy has come up big time and time again at the plate and in the outfield. Here's to you Endy!!! And one for Valentin as well.....
  9. I agree, but Willis is only 24. I would prefer to see Milledge go in a deal for Willis though, because as they say, you can never have enough pitching. Besides, I think Milledge is going to be nothing but a headache.
  10. Long time coming. 18 years since we've won a division. Don't let anyone rain on your parade either. No one was saying how bad the division was when Atlanta was winning it all those years. Do you think Eagle fans gave a damn that the NFC East was terrible when they were winning? GO METS!!!! Beltran for MVP!!!
  11. I'd have to say Jeter. What other "superstar" willingly bunts runners over when the team needs it?
  12. Stupid for the Marlins. That would actually be a good deal for the Mets. Willis is a 24 year old ace with playoff experience. Pelfrey is 22 and no one really knows yet how good he will be.
  13. I sure do. I was there. At least we got whipped by a good team that night. You guys had a chance to potentially grab the division lead with your "ace" on the mound and took a beating at the hands of the worst team in the division. Sorry, but that's funny. Nothing wrong with good natured ribbing. I'm sure you'd let us have it if we lost 19-6 to the Nationals.
  14. Yep, especially when it's by 13 runs to the Devil Rays.
  15. I agree, but I wouldn't care if either one was part of a deal, just not both of them.
  16. Not when it's been 18 years since our last magic number countdown. You Yankee fans are so spoiled.
  17. Damn. When I saw DW I thought you meant Dontrelle Willis. I have been dying for the Mets to get this guy since his rookie season. COME ON OMAR DO IT!!!!! :explode:
  18. As long as we don't give up too much, I'm all for it. I'd hate to see Milledge or Pelfrey go for a guy who might only be a Met for the next few months, but I'd give up the farm for the D-Train!
  19. I've given up on Heilman. He looked good for parts of last year and early this season, but I wouldn't mind seeing him elsewhere, especially after that boneheaded play he made in Sunday's game.
  20. I'm actually looking forward to the next WBC to see Young and Wright both starting on the left side of the infield.
