  1. Only 2 picks for Eli through the first quarter of the season. That's the best stat for this team right now.
  2. Agreed. The Super Bowl was easily worth the price of admission. And like Storm said at the absolute worst he brings stability to a position some teams havent been able to find even for a short period of time.
  3. Whatever gets him motivated. I suppose Im one of those haters for doubting the Giants last week. Forgive me Brandon, but when you go on the road with an injury depleted roster against a team you hadnt beat in 3 years, confidence isnt exactly the first thing im feeling. Keep making me eat the crow though I can get used to it.
  4. I hope thats the case Jack. As for the Falcons, the Giants get the Saints in the Superdome instead. We also get the Packers instead of the Bears. I would argue our road is a tad more difficult though not by too much.
  5. They spend 60 million on the guy and they have him playing zone. Smart. With their shortcomings at linebacker and safety I would expect them to have Nnamdi playing strictly man. By all means though Philly keep misusing him.
  6. Philly is going to be around all year. They always are. However, it looks like its not going to be the walk in the park that many people expected. You can't hide deficiencies on the offensive line, their linebackers are flat out bad, and the promotion of Castillo to d-coordinator could end up proving disastrous. I don't expect them to completely crash and burn but it's nice to see some doubt and panic set in.
  7. ....and when you take care of the football. They really prepared themselves. Very impressed and proud of these guys.
  8. As awesome as the win was, a loss out in Arizona will take a lot of the luster off of it. They have an opportunity to change the complexion of their entire season with yesterdays performance and hopefully they seize the opportunity.
  9. Ross fucking brought it today. Today was a tough assignment and he delivered. Hopefully he builds on this.
  10. Its nice to see you get some vindication jack after all the heat you get haha. I admittedly feared the worst and had it thrown right back in my face. Ill take that everytime. Its great that three of the guys getting plenty of criticism on this board came through. Eli and Ross stepped up big time. Gilbride called a great game. They got the monkey off their backs and I couldnt be happier for them. Hopefully they take this momentum and begin to rewrite what started out as a pretty shitty script.
  11. See if they have cleats too. You might be getting a call in a couple of weeks at this rate.
  12. He is a solid receiver nas. He's a playmaker. It just doesn't appear he is very intelligent.
  13. Ive imagined that too. If only Gilbride would. This offense needs some creativity to help offset the players they're missing.
  14. How does beckum constitute as a secret weapon?
  15. Brady is an all-time great jack. Your optimism is nice but I havent seen the giants overmatched like this in a while. The injuries obviously are a huge part of that but the excuses end on sunday. I would be nothing short of amazed and very proud of this team if they can pull it off.
  16. Honestly, I think the only way the Giants come out of Philly with a win is having exactly ZERO turnovers and a herculean effort by Jacobs and Bradshaw. Like a combined 200-250 yard effort. Its asking alot but I think thats the only matchup the Giants can really exploit. Our secondary cant run with their receivers so controlling the time of posession and keeping Vick and company off the field is a must. And Eli, PLEASE no more picks. Even one could end up being a killer. Earn that hefty salary this Sunday.
  17. I dont see what the whole fuss over Eli is about anyway. I dont have any illusions about his ability and just about everyone on this board has a pretty measured, rational view of him. "He's not elite". No fucking shit theres maybe a handful of guys in the league you can say that about right now.
  18. I can see why egg would be upset. The Dog also though I dont know the team he roots for. They try to discredit Elis contributions to the 07 run. Do you remember the game tying drive to end the half in Dallas egg? I sure do. How about the sub zero game in Green Bay where he bested Favre. I know it has to be incredibly frustrating for dallas and philly fans to see a clumsy, perhaps slightly above average quarterback put it all together for one month and help his team achieve greatness. Believe me, if I was a Cowboy fan I would be pissed too everytime my golden boy screwed the pooch.
  19. He took one to the house against us at the meadowlands last year. I dont know much else about him.
  20. This defenae needs to have a consistent pass rush to have success bottom line. I think the complaints about Fewell's zone schemes are valid too. I have visions of Tim Lewis dancing in my head.
  21. Hopefully Osi is back next week and ready to contribute. Maybe we will see some formations with Tuck, JPP, and Osi on the field at the same time. Either way, this defense makes me extremely nervous.
  22. Lucky to have Ross? I guess the Giants could consider themselves lucky if say, one of us were the alternative. I held out hope that maybe he just needed to get healthy and have another opportunity. He just isnt good. Lets hope Prince is a fast learner.
  23. That's because he's awesome. Providing he stays healthy he will be mentioned with the Andre Johnsons and Fitzgeralds of the league in another year or two.
  24. For a guy who preaches discipline, Coughlin sure doesn't look the part a lot of the time. As for Gilbride, the Giants are usually able to move the ball well on a game to game basis. They also have playmakers though, so this should be a given. I'm no coach, but I've read in articles and from posts on here that his "read and react" offense is quite intricate and difficult. There always seems to be a few miscommunications between Eli and his receivers every game. If it's causing that much trouble to execute, change and perhaps simplify it. This team has two very good backs and at receiver, an emerging star and great #2. It shouldn't be that fucking hard. I remember another Giants coordinator, albeit on the defensive side of the ball, that used a "read and react" scheme. That also sucked frequently. I have to see a moderately healthy Giant defense before I can kill Fewell but I will say the 4th and 5 play was ridiculous. The Giants dropped everyone back PAST THE FIRST DOWN MARKER. Also, if your opponent is going to rip you a new one with passes through the middle of the field why not try something else? Send the linebackers in if they can't cover what difference does it make?!
  25. I was thinking about this after a few posts on here referred to the Super Bowl win as a fluke. The team was dominant in '08, and an absolute machine when they played on the road. That all changed after Plaxico shot himself. They haven't beaten the Eagles since then. Think about that. I think Nicks is on his way to having a fantastic career and is going to be a better player than Burress but the Giants haven't been able to replace or duplicate what Plax brought to the offense. .....Oh, and yeah it's entirely his fault.
