I think if this is the case you take a guy that falls with one of the two second round picks (maybe a McCarthy or Sanders) and let all three guys compete for the spot.

He's no Thomas, but Tyre Phillips has been filling in really well too these past few weeks.

DeVito is playing fine, and I'm starting to think he can be a capable NFL backup moving forward. I think what's really behind the Giants success the past few weeks though is that the roster has remained more or less consistent. It's tough to win a game when you're throwing to two guys that you never practiced with...actually three guys, the other one just got hurt... and your o-lineman... actually wait, three of those are out and there's two guys... no wait, one guy from week one is back so now... and our week 1 WR is back in... oh wait, another guy is out so there's three guys out again...

The draft calculator I'm using says if we trade our 1st, the first of our two 2nd rounders, and our 3rd right now we can move from 7 to 3 and grab one of the top QBs. If Maye or Daniels is there I think we should do it. Honestly though I'm hoping we lose out (but are still competitive in the losses) and end up with a top-5 pick.

I'm sure they're not going to say "we like this guy in the draft" in the middle of the season. They're trying to win football games right now.

The nice thing about Drake Maye is that he came from a shitty Tarheels O-line, and Joe Shoen loves to draft shitty Tarheels O-linemen so he should feel right at home.

This is my feeling as well, and also why I'm very leery on Penix. I really like him as a player, but he's played five college seasons and has only been healthy for one. He's also going to be 24 when he's drafted; that type of injury history is just too risky for a top-10 pick for me. Hell, one season lost due to injury is a major risk IMO.

IMO this would be a horrible idea. This draft class is stocked at QB; the reason we ended up with Jones in the first place is because Getty knew we needed someone so he reached for a QB in a very weak class. If you have a high pick and you can get your guy, you get him. DeVito is a fun story but he's not an NFL-caliber player and Jones has put together one winning season out of six. It's time to move on from those guys and this is the draft and situation to do so.

I just can't go with Michael's Jr. Penis since there'll likely be another injury with this franchise. If the guy is still there with the second 2nd rounder maybe take a shot at him but you can't spend a high 1st on an injured Penis.

Penix has already had 3 major injuries.

I'm hoping the NFL agrees with this assessment. Dude looks like money in the bank to me. They said similar things about Hebert if I remember correctly and that dude is literally the only good player for the Chargers offense (to be fair, most of their offense has been some kind of injured this season). Every time I watch film on this kid I like him more. Even though he's a little raw and would need work, he's shown improvement every year since he's been a starter.

So glad Joe Schoen is finally listening to me.

That would be a shame. I know the defense hasn't been wonderful this year but I really like Wink as a coordinator.

I think Robinson only has like 250 yards or something. One of the podcasts I listen to said he came out of the gate hot but has more or less sucked since then. Joe Schoen really should have listened to me and drafted Trey McBride in that spot. Twice as many yards and a 78 PFF rating.
