  1. I agree with this as well.
  2. My bad. I just keep seeing this all over Reddit, dumbass sports talking heads and the like... it's insane to me.
  3. I see this "racist pricks" thing thrown around quite a bit but I don't understand it. Jerry Reese and Marc Ross drove this franchise into the ground for a decade, Brandon Brown and Jesse Armstead both have high-ranking front office positions, and the Maras were one of the conduits behind the Rooney Rule. I know the Giants picked Daniel Jones over Dwayne Haskins, but that's because Haskins sucks (his own team dumped him after two seasons). Eli Manning was the consensus best QB the year he was drafted and was with the franchise for 15+ years. All of the top QB that year were white; what was the organization supposed to do, pass on a generational talent and hope Vince Young was on the board next year, or are they supposed to dump a two-time Super Bowl MVP so they can have a minority QB instead? Also, Brian Daboll was selected over Brian Flores because the latter is probably a fucking prick as evidenced by his behavior on the sidelines and the media both before and after his interview. Other minority coaches they've interviewed (Romeo Crennel, Eric Bienemy) have not exactly lit it up once they've gone to new franchises. Is it possible that they just weren't good candidates? The Giants are stupid in many, many ways... but discrimination and racism is not one of them. This is a really dumb point of view.
  4. Crazy how similar the Giants and Jets' lines are, right down to drafting LT and C in the same round in the same drafts. Crazy how bad Laken Tomlinson has been too, he just owned Aaron Donald in the playoffs.
  5. Too injured. We have enough players on IR by week 8 as it is now. If he's still there with our second 2nd rounder or in the 3rd maybe you roll the dice but he's not a first-rounder IMO.
  6. Check out the Eagles subreddit. It's pretty amazing in there right now.
  7. Yeah it used to be head to head record, now it's strength of schedule. If those teams all win and we lose then the Giants move up to 2nd overall. Rumors has it that the Commies, Pats, and Chicago are all looking to draft a QB so with the Cards moving down after their victory this weekend we're kind of fucked on landing a top QB even at 4. We need to get to the 3 spot or better.
  8. Yeah furthest we can be pushed down is 7. That being said, I'm rooting for a top-2 pick. Penix is a very talented player from what I gather but if the most injured team in the NFL over the past 20 years takes the most injured QB in college I'm going to be pissed.
  9. Johnson is good friends with Daboll, but this is a business. If Daboll can't let this guy go it speaks very badly to him. An even more alarming thing is that JMS seemed to get worse as the season went on. Pair that with Phillips looking better after spending six weeks in Philly and I think it's safe to conclude that the O-line coaching here sucks.
  10. Best possible outcome. Giants played hard and looked competitive, but still have a shot at the #2 overall pick. What would a victory today have done?
  11. Taylor Decker reports to the official that he's eligible. The official nods and replies with a hand signal indicating he's eligible. Decker catches the game-winning two point conversion. Several very late flags are thrown. The officials huddle and announce a penalty on Decker for illegal touching. Detroit loses. The betting has really gotten out of control for the officials.
  12. Turns out Evan Neal has a broken ankle and was put on IR. I understand that sometimes misdiagnoses are made, but this is coming off the heels of: Andrew Thomas missing seven weeks with a hamstring, reinjuring it after four weeks. Daniel Jones being allowed back onto the field with a torn ACL after testing it on the sidelines. Whatever the fuck was going on with Graham Gano and our punter. These guys suck and Ronnie Barnes needed to be canned like 10 years ago.
  13. YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT!!!!!!
  14. That's what I mean when I say hope is not a strategy. We just drafted 4 linemen in the past 3 years and while I'll give JMC the benefit of the doubt, we can't go into next season hoping Neal, Ezeudu, and McKethan are going to suddenly develop into NFL caliber players. We need to get capable starters at 4 o-line spots this offseason just like every other year, not "hope" that one of our guys who sucks suddenly un-sucks. Joe Hortiz was my #1 target in the last GM search for a reason. Their draft philosophy is the same as the Eagles, "draft the best guy available, don't reach, don't try to get cute, pick guys in later rounds who fell." If a talented guy falls into your lap but isn't a scheme fit, draft the guy and change your scheme, not the other way around.
  15. Also I was on the road and wrapped up with Xmas shit today, but was the O-line actually pretty decent? They seemed to hold up well for the plays I got to see.
  16. We played a good team tough, it came down to the wire, the Eagles still have to be questioning if they suck, and we moved up to the #5 draft position. If the Pats and Washington win one more, and if Arizona wins out we'll get the #2 pick. I fucking hate the Eagles so much but honestly I'm ok with this.
  17. And the football sucks. Those teams on Thursday night always look unprepared, and it's obviously because they have like two days to prep for the game.
  18. Then schedule makers don't know their ass from their elbow. Look at all the west coast prime time games we played to start the year. Also remember a few years ago we played a Monday night game on the west coast, then a game against the Packers in Green Bay coming off a bye? That was pretty fucked.
  19. Yeah I wanna lose out to get a better draft pick, except for the two Eagles games. Because fuck the Eagles.
  20. Oh absolutely. I laughed my ass off at San Francisco giving up a king's ransom to get Trey Lance... and it's also why we never should have drafted Daniel Jones in the first place.
  21. I don't understand the "wait till your team is good to draft a QB" crowd either. You need a top-5 pick to land a good QB in the draft; if you wait till you're even an 8-8 team you're looking at giving up multiple first rounders over multiple years to take a guy that may not even be the guy. It makes zero sense. If you need a QB, and you have a high pick and there's a franchise QB there, you draft him. It's a no-brainer.
  22. "Just be you." How'd that work out for you, Pat?
